And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. • Dear Friend,
Please stop whining about being perpetually broke.  Your extraordinary overindulgence of your children is the reason you cannot afford to shop for your Christmas dinner.  They do not need a new toy every. single. time you leave the house.  You wonder why they're not excited for Christmas?  Because they receive gifts almost every day of the year, and more stuff just isn't that interesting anymore.
    Love, your exasperated friend.

    Dear Tide's neighbor,
Back off, bitch, or you're going to have one angry SB mob at your door.
    Love,
    Les

Agreed. While it sucks that your cat died (and I am sorry about that, it's horrible), the whole "I don't mind going back to jail" reeks of crazy. Especially over something so minor.

Why did he kick your cat? Who was the guy and why didn't he go to jail for animal abuse?

  • Dear MM,

Yes, it really was discussed on E.  Kind of an off-handed remark, but still.  I think it's in the "Best threads of 2010" or whatever thread.  Where my tongue-in-cheek comment also got picked on, because apparently they don't recognize hypocrisy over on those parts of TK.

I'm sorry and that really really sucks. You should have pressed charges against him for animal cruelty or something so he would be the one getting in trouble and possibly going to jail.

  • Aw, sunkissed. That stabby story was NUTS! I wonder whatever happened to her.
  • I was a kid at the time, and upset because the guy had killed my cat.  If that happened now, I would react differently.  Please get off my back for making a mistake when I was younger.
And the comment about going back to jail was a joke.  Why would I put myself into that situation when I could just go to HR and have it fixed?  Thank you for trying to be a bully.

  • Dear Lab,

It's 55 degrees in here today.  Yesterday it was 53 degrees.  I can't stand to work in your miserable climate.  Why are your vents blowing cold air in December in NJ?  I don't understand.  What's worse, you mess up my experiments, because guess what - many of them are temperature sensitive!  So, thanks for that.  Boss called the Physical Plant again, but I know once they come and "fix" you, you will only be warm for a couple days and then go back to the frigid temperatures.  How do I know that, you ask?  Because you have been like this for the past 4 YEARS.  You suck, and I hate you.

    Sincerely,
    Disgruntled Lab Member

  • I still want to know who the guy was and why he kicked the cat.
  • Dear Dad,

Please don't call me from you cell phone while I'm at work, I automatically think something horrible happened to mom b/c you never call me. Please also don't tell me you "can't find cashmere gloves" for mom, when you haven't even tried going to oh I don't know, a department store. Just come out and ask me to pick them up for you. You know I will say yes b/c I don't know how to say no to people.

    Dear shoppers,

Please don't over crowd the strip mall by my office this afternoon so I can actually find a parking spot and go into the stores for a few minutes and pick up some last minute gifts. Unlike yesterday when I drove around for 30 minutes aimlessly searching for a spot.

    Dear family and friends,

Just because I buy you a gift from a certain store doesn't mean I like that store for myself. I means I think you'd like it. Please stop buying me things from Anthropologie, it's really not my style. It took me an hour yesterday to use most of my merchandise credit to find something I could give to someone else for Christmas, the rest I gave to the next person in line.

    Dear self,
Why did you forget to set an alarm to get up and see the eclipse? You were talking about it all day...lame hoar.

    Love,

    K

So in other words, the courts did not say your actions were okay, or justified.  You just got lucky that the guy had more to lose and dropped the charges.  Yup, you're not really making yourself sound any saner.
