What does this board

I can see that the conversation has gone off in a bit of a different direction, but I come here for a bit of everything.  I love the entertainment, and I love reading through and occasionally getting involved in discussions.  I feel like this board has a great mix of women (and man!) and I'm not terribly worried about being flamed for any little thing I say.  The posters here all have very different views and beliefs, and yet are incredibly respectful of each other.  There are posts here that are actually thought-provoking, and you certainly can't say that about every forum. 

I also spend a lot of time in the evening by myself at the apartment, especially recently with FI out of town, so it's a nice way to connect with other people.  My real-life friends have opposite work schedules of me or live out of town, so it's nice to come here.  I haven't been around enough to say I've made a lot of friends here, but I genuinely enjoy the conversations I'm involved in, and am certainly not opposed to making friends :-)

Edit--M&M, I just skimmed back through the posts, and I really like that hair color.  Go for it!

HA! I heart creatures in general. I don;t know if you have seen it but there is a commercial for some internet/cable service with a baby giraffe in it. I swoon every time.

Are you talking about the one with the really rich guy, who has a little tiny 10in. tall giraffe on a platter? And he kisses it? I LOVE THAT COMMERCIAL.. I also, really like the "You could get with this. Or you could get with that" Hamster commercial.. I love it.. I always dance to it, and FI makes fun of me so much.. :p

I'm late again. Crap. But I'll put my two-cents in.

I like the forums, I think it's fun to get on here and chat with everyone. There are some ladies that I really think I could be friends with IRL which makes it more fun to come back! Also since we just moved I only have a handful of friends around here and since I still haven't found a job I sit at home a lot and it's nice to get on here and talk to people.

FWIW, DH and I met on Facebook and we talked for a couple of months before we met so I'm totally pro-building relationships online!

I'm married to a leg man. Too bad man mine are only good from the knee down, and he wants some above the knee showing. And dammit, he likes hose.  He needs a fashion lesson. His drawers = tee shirts and cargo shorts and jeans.

Ok, first off, M&M, I think that color would look GORGEOUS on you. I say go for it. And then AW and PIP it.

I lurked for a loooonnnng time before I started posting, and although I post on a few different boards, SB is by far my favorite. I can honestly say that there is not a single person on here that I don't like, and that sometimes I like all you guys better than my IRL friends. Also, most of my IRL friends are guys, so it's nice to get a female perspective on things, too. :-)

I love SB because of the banter that goes on in the various posts. I love the fact that there are so many different opinions and personalities on here, and that although not everyone agrees all the time, everyone respects each other and isn't looking for an excuse to jump down each other's throats. I've seen that happen on other boards, and it disgusted me enough to leave those particular boards. Everyone is honest, which is refreshing.

Even as a newb, I've never really felt excluded from any conversations, and although I sometimes second-guess myself when I go to post on some threads, I know that I really don't have too much to worry about. I originally came to the boards for WR advice, and I stayed because I like you all so much. I hope to be able to count you guys among my friends, whether in the digital realm or out in the big bad real world. :-)

oh and he calls all skirts (which I wear pretty much daily) "dresses". I'm like its a SKIRT.

I wish DH would tell me if something was too short! I went out the other day in a dress and I asked him if it looked too short and he said "No, it looks great!" Then my mom saw me and was like "Why are you wearing that?! It's so short!"

Then when we were at the IL's house this weekend I asked FIL, DH and our friend what shirt I should wear and FIL said "I like the one you're wearing," and then when I walked out of the room I overheard him say "I just said that so she wouldn't take forever changing clothes." WHAT?! I called him out. Not nice!!!

Super late, but this board (and E) is where I planned my wedding, learned a ton about communicating over the internet, and met some of the awesomest women I know. When I first joined after I got engaged, I was all, "wait, that's not wedding-related!" and "OMG these people have actually met in real life? Are they crazy?" And now I'm kind of a GTG hoar and even went to another knottie's wedding. I love how this all turned out.

Oh, and tongue out.

Well....I guess I was scared at first and never even opened up this board - then I got curious and lurked a bit.  BUT I never did the whole AW - LURKER HERE HI HELLO thing - NMS.

But I do like the vibe on the board - you can get wedding questions answered honestly, you can get life questions answered, there are laughs, distractions, venting....quite a bit to keep me sane.

Some other boards are pretty catty, my wedding month board is obviously helpful in some areas, but since many of you have "been there done that" and have that hindsight being so much clearer it is nice to get another opinion.

I skimmed the thread as well, and to reply to M&M's origninal post, I come here for conversation, and to lend a helping hand when I can!

I met my DH online, and we got married, and are happy, so I'm very comfortable with making friends here.

I love how, I can give an honest opinion, and culture, tradition, and modernity is respected at the individual level.  And I like how all of you, lurker or not can ask frank questions, and surely we take the time to answer them!

I'm here to plan my wedding, but the sexy ladies of SB got me hooked.  After spending some time here, I do feel like I want to stick around to play with everyone.  I've been overly busy IRL lately and haven't been around, and actually miss it.
