Re: Good Morning!!!

  • Have fun on your trip, Les. I don't feel so hot today. I think I'm going to blame it on the wine. FI and I were supposed to take all our stuff to apply for our marriage license but work gave him a hard time and we have to reschedule. I'm a little annoyed but not that big of a deal. I'll probably be the only one at work again today so I'll finish my programs and all the other loose ends I've got for the wedding.

Today is going to be awesome. WHY you ask? Because Punch Brothers tickets go on sale at 10 am and im buying the shiiit outta those!!! I did my excited hyperventilating thing at work yesterday when I found out. It pains me I can never freak out about anything cause Im at work. The only downside is that the only way adam would agree to go (since we are spending a ton of money between now and August on 2 large concerts) is to cancel my plans to go to a food truck event in town that was just announced. Its worth it so I agreed. SO worth it.
  • Morning! I'm the only one in the house that's awake. I am going into work a bit late today and then leaving a little early. I just have to be there for a study patient so I hope they show!

I took my mother to the restaurant where we're getting married for dinner last night and the food was phenomenal. I had a lamb duo that was a chop and this ridiculously good sausage with orange and cardamom. It was probably one of the best things I have ever tasted.

We also found her a MoB dress she really likes and feels comfortable in so that was a big success yesterday.

  • Nebb - I thought of you when I saw their Toronto date. Unfortunately they're not coming anywhere near me. It's one of the few bands FH and I both like. Usually he is more into what I call "angry guy music" like Clutch and stuff.

  • Good morning! Today is going to be a great freaking day because it's Friday, I only have one client meeting (and it's with my favorite client), and it's the last day of the stupid training I've been doing for two weeks.

Tomorrow we're going to pick up the new car, and I'm feeling much more at ease about it because H is getting so excited.  I was worried he was going to regret getting rid of his car but now I don't think he will.  Hopefully all goes well and we can spend a nice day with BIL and SIL.

<div>No we're having leg of lamb and an herbes de provence roast chicken. I am tempted to see if we can work it in as an appetizer though. They served it with their homemade tzatziki which was also amazing. I just don't know if I want to double up on lamb at the reception. </div>

  • Hey, everyone.

Have fun on your trip, les! I bet the mountains are gorgeous right now.

It's one of the rotating Fridays off at work, so this place is like a ghost town. There's usually about 15 people on my floor on any given day, and today there's 4. I like days like this because often at lunch, we all go somewhere different and then bring something back (a nacho platter, a big caesar salad, a pizza, etc) so we can have a mini potluck thing. It makes for a fun day at work when there's only a few of us here.

H's birthday was on Tuesday, so we're having a huge family BBQ at the cottage this weekend. Should be fun. Bonfire, boating, food, etc. It's supposed to be pretty warm up there, so hopefully I can handle the heat.

    Good morning!

I'm off work today (but have to work all weekend- boo!), but I'm still up early because H left the bedroom door open while he got ready this morning, including making coffee and banging around in the kitchen. The bedroom is maybe 12 feet from the kitchen, so of course I heard everything. Oh, well. I can nap this afternoon.

On the upside, I think H's pinkeye is not contagious anymore and is slowly going away. His eye is still pink and itches sometimes, but not as badly as before and it's not weeping anymore (sorry, that's gross). Maybe tonight we can actually sleep in the same bed!

Sept- That BBQ sounds awesome! I'm really jealous right now. I hope it doesn't get too hot.

In Response to Re:Good Morning!!!:Good morning!nbsp;Enjoy your trip, Les!nbsp;Nebb, I've never even heard of most of the bands you talk about. I feel really out of it, or like we have totally different taste in music. Or both.nbsp;I had a gyro the other day for lunch. SO good! Posted by djhar A lot of the bands I'm really into are canadian, alexisonfire, cancer bats, billy talent, monster truck, metric, etc. I also like a lot of alt/rock most of which are american bands, bluegrass, heavier bands, electronic stuff like the gorilliaz though I do work out to hardstyle music. I also listen to classical in the car.
  • Morning everyone!

Sept- I haven't been around... did you update on your BIL drama? Wasn't H supposed to go talk to them this weekend?

Nothing too exciting here. My boss is out in meetings almost all day, so hopefully I'll be productive!
  • Morning ladies!

SEWF- glad H's pink eye is almost cleared up.

Happy early birthday Mr. Sept (fellow Cancerian). So Sept, how'd it go with the wacky IL's?

Today I get to leave at 2, Tobie has a vet appt at 3, which I dread, poor baby freaks when we get the crate out. Then at 6 I scheduled a massage. I've waited too long for this, my yoga instructor gave me a Thai massage after yoga last night and I realized how sore I am, so I asked her to come over for a massage tonight.

And I'm so excited, I figured out how to get my mom up here for a few days. It will be the first time she's been to the house since I moved up.

  • Good morning! Yay, a weekend!!

Steph, your ticker says you have 75 days left. That's a ridiculously short time.

TMI-I got my period this morning-my cycles have been 22 days freaking long (short?) it blows. and according to Dr. Google, 22 days is still a normal range. My poor H gets to deal with crazy Jenna today.

    Love the new pic Brandi!

  • Morning! TGIF! I am thinking we might go see the Abe Lincoln movie this weekend. Work should be fairly easy today, so I am happy about that.

Sept- was it you that got your H a car driving experience? or am I thinking of someone else?
  • Oy, Steph. [this could be long, guys - skip it if you want ;)]

So, BIL and H (Jon) got into it HUGE on the phone because I refused to go to his house. BIL couldn't understand what stress I thought would come of the whole thing (um, huh?) and then proceeded to tell Jon that he (BIL) and SIL had planned a birthday party for him, with cake and dinner and everything, and now we were ruining it for the kids (our nephew is 9, and our niece is 2) because they were looking forward to seeing us.

Okay, slap me if I'm reaching, here - we hadn't seen or spoken to them in almost a year, they tell my ILs that they have "issues" with us, and then they invite us to their house and wonder why we're skeptical. Jon felt like a gigantic ass because his brother went to the effort to plan a birthday for him (how would we EVER have anticipated that?!) so ultimately, we ended up going to their house. It turned out fine - BIL seems to have repressed a lot of resentment and hostility toward my ILs for his childhood and stuff, and it kind of came to a head last summer and he had a bit of a freak out. He alienated himself from the family while he figured it out, I guess, and now he feels ready to talk about the things that were bothering him, especially since our family is growing and he wants to be a part of the baby's life.

He and Jon seem to have ironed out their issues, enough that when BIL was in town for a conference yesterday, he invited us to meet him for dinner. It was a real change of pace for us, believe me. I like them both a lot better when they're getting along and being brothers, so hopefully it lasts.

  • Kate - yes, it was me. It's been delayed to July, though. Someone crashed the lamborghini the day before H was supposed to go for the track day (nobody was hurt physically, just financially!), so they had to cancel and reschedule.

They ended up doubling the laps, though, and offering to let H do half the laps in the lamborghini and half in a ferrari 458. Needless to say, he was pretty stoked. They're also throwing in a few laps in a porche 911, so that'll be cool.
  • Glad things seem to be working out Sept. I still think the whole thing is weird.

I mean he has issues with his parents, but he invites them and not you to the kids birthday. I think he needs to grow up, passive aggressive much?

I guess I'm just leary when people act like that, then suddenly want to go back to being best buds again.

  • Morning everyone.  We took Cheyenne to the doctor last night and theres a small possibility her tummy troubles could be intestinal cancer.  We decided to try to treat the symptoms again with a different group of medications rather than go straight to the invasive biopsy to rule cancer out.  I just feel bad that she is on all kinds of medication and I have to fly across the country on Sunday for work.  I am not looking forward to that at all.

The highlight of my day so far is definitely the expletive filled letter I got at work. Its a real winner.

  • Sorry Button, poor puppy. I hope she's ok.

And now you have to spill about the letter!

I started my morning getting lectured on the A&A board for being married and still being on the boards. Arent we supposed to be here to support each other? Ugh!

  • Thanks, Jenna!

Sept-  that sounds like a ton of fun.  My Dad is into all of those Nascar tracks that are around and he has been to all of them.  I wonder if he would be into driving those cars because that would be a good fathers day gift.

  • Morning!  It's my Emma's 1st birthday today, we gave her yogurt with her breakfast this morning to celebrate.  And sang.  Because she needs to feel special.  Yeah, we're those people.
  • good morning!

I'm so glad it's Friday. I'm ready to get the weekend started and get it over with!
My mom and I are going to a huge community garage sale thing tomorrow morning, then lunch with some friends, then home to clean my house. I'm starting to get really weird about keeping the house up and organized.

  • KD- Yes.  It is about two years old.  I stumbled on it on my computer last night and remembered how much I liked it.

  • kd - we're skeptical as hell, but Jon's adopted the "wait and see" kind of attitude. He figures if he puts the effort in and his brother flakes out or does this to him again, he can walk away from things with a clear conscience knowing that he tried his best to help mend things.

I'm an only child, so I really, REALLY don't understand the sibling dynamic. I'd have bailed on the b.s. a long time ago.

Well I've been here since 2008, so actually I think my post count is rather tame. But, the original issue she still has not addressed. And I love that another person claiming to have a wonderful experience with the SAME site added a thread a few hours later.

Happy Birthday Emma! Atticus is a leap year baby, so we'll have to figure out when to celebrate his.
