I have tried restarting and a bunch of other things. If my computer shiits out on me right now, of all times, I will have a brain aneurysm.Posted by musicalsunlightI've been having similar issues. Does it correspond to the fan getting louder? Mine does, and I've found the only thing that helps is turning it off for like a half hour.Another irritation I depise when people drop last minute meetings on me. When I was counting on a window of time to get something done, and they just swoop in and go "bloop" and drop their turd of a meeting on me. Posted by daffodil_jill[/QUOTE]

Unfortunately no, the fan has been operating just fine. I also have one of those lapdesks that has a fan to keep the computer cool. It's finals this week and next, and I will freak out if this does not fix itself today.

A friend and I at work have this thing we call "operation chowder", its our way of annoying the hell out of a guy who is super freaking annoying at work (he whistles, constantly, amongst other things). He HATES time left on the microwave, so we always intentionally put time on it to be annoying.
  • Our microwave beeps at 30-second intervals when the food is done. H is never in a hurry to remove it, and he doesn't see why he should at least turn off the beeping. It drives me batty.

I can't stand whistling.  Or gum snapping.

Every time he goes to the bathroom or the photocopier, he whistles the indiana jones theme song. Apparently getting up from your desk is a huge adventure. He also likes to whistle the american national anthem (were in canada) and "I saw mommy kissing santa clause" (regardless of whether its christmas or not). Its the worst.

  • Oh annoying coworkers. I shared a cube with a guy that slurped his coffee, and then had a little exhale after every sip. I told obviously told everyone about it, and then they were annoyed as well. We still joke about it even though the guy has been gone for a few years.

My irritation right now is I forgot to charge our particulate counter yesterday so now I have to wait for it to be charged before I can start my testing. Super exciting stuff, I know.

And you posted it on a public forum? You keep talking about how you've been trying to learn from your mistakes and "behave" on the boards, but the people who say you never do and never will are right.
  • I thought that the loans were forgiven only if you had been paying a certain percent of your salary per month (a decent amount) and then after X years you still had a balance, it'd be forgiven. Basically so if your education was so ridiculously expensive that after paying a highish percentage per month you weren't stuck with it. I'm irritated with the amount of T&P requests people ask for. I was glad Conda didn't win. I couldn't believe when I found out that she was 23 or something and not 18. She acted like a complete child.

Rational: How hard is it to use a fucking turn signal? I was behind 3 people today that didn't use turn signals and didn't slow down to make their turn. So they go squealing around the corner, I slam on my brakes. It was like a damn action movie.

Irrational: I'll be so glad when it's summer break and all the day-school students vacate campus. They are smelly, noisy, rude, dress inappropriately (I saw stripper heels today, full on clear 5-inch heels) and they take the best parking spots. I can't wait until the parking lot is empty and the building doesn't reek of sweaty ballsack.

This is a silly irritation, I pinned this super cute pug alphabet on pinterest yesterday and for SOME reason idiots on that site have reported the site it came from as spam so now you cant go to the source and see a big version of it because pinterest disabled the link. I WANT PEOPLE TO SEE THE PUG ALPHABET! IT IS CUTE! jerk offs. Also, some fruitcakes commenting on one of my hat pins saying it was wrong and that it should be changed, I AM JUST GOING BY THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE MET, dont get on my case for that. I also think they probably more than you do about the history of that particular item.

For some yes. But I'm not sure how this is any better than forgiving everyone outright. (Unless you're doing service work. Then I can understand, kind of.)

I have coworkers who clip their nails at their desks. And paint their nails. That's a fun smell to have floating around an office.

I just assume this has to do with student privacy laws. Even if it isn't a public school, it's still a school and student privacy has always been beaten into our heads.
I'm not saying people don't post things they shouldn't. I don't care if you posted it. I just find it odd teachers know families' financial records.
