  • This thread just made my morning!
I'm wearing a costume to each performance of my play, so I'll need 4 total.

  • I"ll do a red sweater and black skirt for Olive Oyl and add the white lace and yellow ribbon trim. I can't stand the paper-thin store bought costumes. Especially the "Slutty ______" ones. You really don't need to fill in the blank and pick a character. If your ass is hanging out of it and your nipples are poking through it, no one even tries to figure out what character you were going for. "Slutty" suffices.

SEWF, you should take your cat costume and add a big red/white striped hat and be The Cat in the Hat. :)
  • Bec, you should've seen the gal at the party last year. She went as a prisoner, and it was just a tee shirt; barely covered her ass. Either no underwear, or a thong. Super high heels. Fishnets (I think). She didn't really attract anyone, especially when she slid up on the pool table to sit; because she was between 18-21, and everyone there was 30/35 - 50. Talk about hoar. And when her BF puked "because of the heat/shot combo" she called him a pussy under her breath.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • I love the ones who show up with the paper costumes still creased from the bag they just ripped it out of, who get pissed off because they don't win the contests or because no one notices them because they look just like every other "Slutty _______" in the room. Poor things.

I'm a sucker for dead-on costumes that people put together by themselves. The only year I looked slutty was when my friend and I went as Velma and Roxie from Chicago. But their outfits were already slutty. LOL

I'm on board with this.  IMO if the word slutty is in the costume name it's meant for the bedroom, not public use.

H will most likely be working on Halloween so I probably won't dress up and will spend the night watching scary movies.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • I went to a party last year, and a friend of mine showed up with this big card board brick costume.  No one really thought it was great, but her husband showed up about an hour later (he had to work late) and he was wearing a flannel and jeans with a hat that said "Brick Layer"  It was pretty cute.

  • Hmmm. That makes me think. One could show up in a costume made to look like a .... Brick House. Get it?

Stud Muffin was a costume that made me laugh many moons ago at a party.

  • OMG cute overdose on little Emerson as a dinosour.

    Bec, I love you.

We got invited to like, THE Halloween party in our town (we're kind of a big deal.  Ok, not really.  Our Sunday school class is filled with doctors, lawyers, and business owners so we get invited to this stuff).  I want to go as Dorothy and the Scarecrow.

We will also have trick-or-treaters come through our office building.  I asked if we dress up and my coworkers said yes, but I absolutely can't remember anyone dressing up last year.  Maybe I was out at a client that day.  But anyway, I don't want to sit at work looking like Dorothy all day, so I think I'm going to make felt flower petals that go on a headband or necklace and then wear a matching dress and green tights and be a flower.

Will you be my best friend?
  • Oh and Ben is being Mario. I'm still tying to convince Matt to be Luigi.

  • Halloween is the only day of the year I dress like a slut in public, and I am proud of it!
