Re: I judge/unpop ops?

  • I think you should have to pass a test to set off fireworks or even hold a sparkler.

We're under a fire warning because of the heat and lack of rain, but tons of people had sparklers and stuff at the city's fireworks display last night. Many of them were waving them around way too close to other people. One girl got bored with hers and just dropped it on the (very dry) grass, then shrugged her shoulders and walked away when the grass caught fire. There was no parental supervision, and this happened right next to someone else's picnic blanket.
  • I'm not a huge fan of the 4th of July.  I'm still American and patriotic and all that jazz... but I'd rather celebrate something like Memorial Day, to be honest.
  • I judge people who bring their children to large events for holidays and let them run amok everywhere, then freak out when they dont know where the kids are.  I know where they are, running around and throwing balls on my picnic blanket.

  • Duds, lots of people brought their dogs to the fireworks last night. It was really hot, and most of the dogs looked genuinely terrified.

I think I just hate people.

If fireworks are illegal so many places, how come they seem so prevelant for sale? I think people who set them off are the biggest douchers in the universe cause it annoys everyone so they can have "fun". I judge those losers. I also judge my dipshit neighbor. She always gives vins treats which is normally fine but on the weekend she wanted to give him one and I kept saying no and explained why and she tried giving it anyways saying it was ok. Um fhuck right off with your treat and don't presume to tell me what is and isn't ok. I know she means well but some people need to learn to accept NO.
  • Oh. I hardcore judge all the parents this week(end) of kids who drowned.  FFS. PUT A LIFEJACKET ON YOUR KIDS IF YOU'RE ON THE WATER.  Especially since you know you're going to be drunk the whole damn day too.

There have been so many stories the last week of kids (and adults) drowning on the lakes. It's so easily avoidable, seriously.
  • I judge women on food stamps that carry Louis Vuitton purses and have nice manicures!

    I kid.

I judge people that don't know how to cook even the simplest things. Maybe they genuinely enjoy the taste of Subway and pasta&jarred sauce every day, I guess? But learning how to make just a few things could do your taste buds a world of good! (ok, this is a lame judge, probably more of a "I don't get it."

    <div>Agreed.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, I really judge this woman at my church. She told everyone she got evicted from her apartment because she's gay. No, she got evicted because she didn't pay her rent. She dropped out of college because she said the professors were discriminating against her because she has a learning disability. All she had to do was provide minimal documentaion to the Disability Services office, but she couldn't be bothered. Now, she's taken to bringing her little dog with her everywhere. She's telling people at church that it's a service dog for her learning disability. She's dyslexic. Not to minimize that, but is the dog supposed to read for her? Plus, she has no documentation for this, and the dog has never been trained to do anything to actually help her. She doesn't even bring it everywhere--just when it's convenient.</div>
  • I don't care if you want to shoot off fireworks, but don't shoot them off in a damn crowd.  Last night, several different sets of people were setting them off at Philadelphia's concert/fireworks.  There's something like 25,000 people at Philly's Art Museum last night to see the show.  Don't light things on fire that have the potential to roll away from you and burn some innocent kid.  I saw it come close to happening twice, and not to mention the one firework that simply exploded on the ground under a tree.  Loudest damn thing ever and I was ten feet away.

Also?  Very unpopular 'round these parts, but I judge the YA reading trend that is sweeping America.  Everytime someone is telling me about a book that is just SOOO good and I ask more about it only to find out it's YA, I roll my eyes a little.

Oh yeah, I totally judge people who get their dogs qualified to be service dogs just so they can keep them with them at all times. My SIL's friend got that qualification for her miniature collie type dog just so she can bring it to coffee shops and on planes and stuff. so weird.

I judge my H for complaining about going to my family's Fourth of July/cousin's birthday party last night because "it's so hot and I'll have to put on more clothes", so he didn't go, and then going out to Target and Arby's anyway.

And for complaining that he never gets to see his family when we see mine all the time. Well, yeah, because his family is not in town, mine is. And also, when we do see them, it's for at least three days, all day. When we see my family, it's for a couple of hours at a time. If you add up all the actual time spent with his family as opposed to my family, we see his more.

Ugh. Sorry, still a bit pissed about that fight last night.

I judge people who say 50 Shades is "sooooooo good!"

Read it, enjoy it, think the story is interesting, whatever, I won't judge you for that. But don't tell me it's soooooo good.
I judge people who take their dogs to festivals when it's close to 100 degrees out.  That doesn't even take the heat index into consideration.  <strong>Actually, I judge people who think their dog should be able to go anywhere they want.</strong>  Someone tried to take their dog in Starbucks when I was in there last week.  She argued with the staff when they told her he couldn't come in because "he's so small and won't bother anyone."  I really love my dog and I enjoy spending time with him, but there are some situations/places where it's just not appropriate for him to be.
    Posted by ILoveMilkDuds
This is my brother and SIL!  They are so frigging embarassing - they refuse to put their dog on a leash even though he bites people.  They bring him EVERYWHERE and they won't just leave him at home!  Seriously, it drives me batty.  I agree, there are a lot of situations and places where dogs are just not necessary.

  • I think it's hilarious when women are raving about 50 Shades of Gray one minute, then bitching about finding their H watching porn the next.
  • I judge the two moms yesterday at the restaurant where my friend and I had lunch.  They chatted away while their 3 kids (ages 3, 5, 7??) roamed the patio, moving chairs to pin the little one against the wall, bothering all the other diners, and making way too much noise.  I finally told them they had to put the chairs back and go sit down with their moms.  I shouldn't have to do this.  Free-range children are not cute or funny - if your little darling can't sit at your table for a reasonable period of time then it's time to leave.

I also judge people who drive around without their ID's. We have so many people who come in to sell things to us, and when we ask for their ID, they say, "Oh, I don't have it with me." Why not? What would you have done if you had gotten pulled over.

I also judge the guy who responded to my friend's FB post basically defending drunk driving. Douche.

I've actually had this conversation on here before. I'm completely against referring to someone as "an illegal", because that makes the illegal the only/main identifier. BUT "illegal immigrant"? Ok. They are.

We have so many people come into the bookstore and ask for 50 shades, and then are SHOCKED when we take them to the erotica section. Know a little bit about the book you are planning to read. Don't be a lemming and read it because everyone else is.

  • I judge teachers who can't spell.  Seriously, I don't know how they get their jobs but when I see something posted on FB like, "My class was so good! Their getting a special treat tomorrow" I want to rip my eyes out.  THIS is the future???  I'm scared for the children that I may have.

Also, I judge stupid people who blame their situation on racism.  Granted, there is tons of discrimination out there and I'm all for equal rights - sometimes, stuff goes wrong because you're dumb.  Not because you're a certain nationality or color.  For example, this lady got all offended that, when she went to return an item, the store asked for her receipt.  She started yelling that it was because of her race, and that she knew they thought she was a thief.  She then dropped a few N bombs and caused the biggest scene ever.  Really???  They need a receipt to give you your money back!!  It's not racism, it's freaking business.

What I don't get about this 50 shades thing is you could save money and time if you just parked yourself on literotica for a bit, did your business and you're done. Seems like such an odd thing to me when erotica is FREE online and probably has better plot and writing lol
  • Les - Along the lines of yours, I was in the checkout line at Walmart, a little kid ran up, grabbed gum, held it up to Mom with a "can I, can I????"  She said, no and he just threw it on the display, nowhere near where it belonged.  I said, "Hey, are you going to put that back where it belongs?"  He did so then ran back to Mommy (who was paying no attention, of course).  He whined something at her and she said, "You don't have to do what she says, she's not your Momma and she shouldn't be telling you what to do."  I was VERY close to turning around and saying, "If you'd teach your child some manners and how to treat things with respect, I wouldn't have to say anything."

  • Me too, Brandi.  I really dislike the telephone, and much prefer email or text.

And, I'm hardcore judging a FB post yesterday from a dear friend's adult son, who said the firefighters should all be embarrassed because of the 346 homes they were unable to save, and that they couldn't do the job we pay them to do.  WTF???  We're talking a raging wildfire driven by 65 mph winds that NO ONE could have stopped.  Those firefighters are heartbroken and devistated that any property or lives were lost, but it could have been so, so much worse.  How dare this 21 year old punk critizice the amazing efforts of the firefighters who have spent the past 13 days on the front lines of hell, protecting complete strangers from losing everything.  It's called fireFIGHTING for a reason - sometimes the fire wins.
