confessions...

I cancelled my gym membership today and am currently drinking a milkshake from Sonic. (I am signing up at a cheaper gym that is closer to the house, I'm not totally jumping ship)

One of the companies I'm hoping to interview with (large oil company synonymous with the devil) has a dental plan that pays for three cleanings a year--THREE! That's unheard of to me and I'm really excited. Don't ask me why.

Marrissa...would this company happen to be in Ft. Worth? I worked at an oil & gas tax company...just wondering =)3 teeth cleanings a year? That's just craziness! If you work there, you'll have squeaky clean teeth for sure.

I'm pretty sure that my school would throw a party if two of our administrators left.  And not because they would be sad to see them go.

I totally ate a delicious BLT with cheese AND mayo for lunch today.  I also had 3 beers last night, and I ate a cupcake (I should really call it a mini-cake 'cause it was pretty big). Now all I can think about is how much longer I have to run to make up for this.  Damn you, temptation and my weak willpower!

I'm not sure how much they pay on other things--I talked to a recent graduate of OU who now works there and is a recruiter and she mentioned that. (and a 401k that matches 7% when you put in 6%!!!!)Apparently the Devil treats their employees well :)No, this company isn't Fort Worth--they have a large presence in Dallas & Houston, though. I'm not sure which city the HQ is in.

I would love nothing more right now than to be fiscally irresponsible.  There are some Coach purses calling my name.  One is purple, grey/silver, and black.  I really want it.

I want to leave Dallas, but I'm too scared too.

Marissa- if its the company I'm thinking of they treat their employees VERY well. My mom worked for a company that they outsourced some HR related work to and they treated her team quarterly to meals like Texas De Brazil and gave them fuel cards..etc..etc... and they weren't even employees!

I first thought Mariah's cake picture was a hearing aid in an ear... um, whoops!I had a piece of yellow cake w/ chocolate icing for breakfast.

I only went to Jazzercise twice this week.  I don't even feel guilty about it, because thanks to the extra sleep, I feel FANTASTIC today.

Cheryl, me too! I've been here all my life and would like to experience something new, but am terrified that I wont like and I'll get stuck there. My mom and step dad are looking at houses in California. I think if they move, it would be easier for me.

Allison,According to Bill Cosby, that's a delicious, nutritous breakfast.  It has eggs and flour.  :-)

Nae--Yes, if my whole family moved along with me, I'd be fine. They're really the biggest reason I can't get myself to leave.

Yeah, that would be the one. At least it isn't Wal-Mart.

My parents are one of the biggest reasons I'm still living in the area but I like Dallas (except the summers).  I don't know where I would live otherwise.  While teachers in TX are far below the national average, it's at least affordable to live here.  I'm in a Catch 22....

I'd love to move to New England, but the only thing we'd be able to afford is this:

I love it too Julie, but I can't help but wonder if that's only because I don't really have anything to compare it too. I haven't been able to travel much either.. I've only been to FL, GA, and KS, other than a short stay in IA (ewww) and IN (ewww because it was December) - IA and IN were both for work. I don't think I could deal with the winters up north.. so I don't really know where else I would want to live, but at the same time, wouldn't mind a change.

LOL Marissa...you'd be surprised.  It's expensive up there, but the job market makes up for it.  M and I were able to live in a decent apartment on our incomes, and we didn't have nearly the credentials that you and Jay have/will have when you finish school! :)

I think if Dallas had mountains, I'd like it better. I like wilderness or beaches. It's just city and farms here and scary Lake Lewisville.

Mandy--didn't you live in Boston? Or am I thinking of someone else? That sounds awesome. I've always wanted to visit that area in Autumn.we didn't have nearly the credentials that you and Jay have/will have when you finish school! :) Haha! The only problem is that will be somewhere around, ohhhh 2020?

I'm hoping to become a teacher soon so I can start making more money than I am now.  Also, teaching is in my blood and I don't know why I didn't decide to do that in the first place.

I have one.I confess that when the parents at my gymnastics center tell me I should just skip all the drama of planning a wedding and go to vegas I cringe.  Because I have actually been married before, and thats what my ex-H and I did.ok, so thats a big one for me.

Marissa -- yes ma'am!  We lived in the Boston area for three years while Michael was in grad school.  I LOVED it.  It truly is one of the most beautiful places in the country I'd ever seen.  But Rene is also right...the winters are BRUTAL.  I don't miss that one bit.

Nae, I agree on Indiana.  Even South Bend was an eye opener!  If I was going to live in the South, it would only be in Texas.  I think I would like Northern CA but then there are some of the ways of thinking that I just don't agree with.  With Bill's career, we'd have to go to either Silicon Valley, Chicago or NYC/Boston.  Most are just way too expensive and aren't willing to compensate to help make up for the difference in the housing markets.
