Coffee Wedding Favors

So, I've been wondering what wedding favors I wanted and my FI and I came up wtih getting mini glass jars and putting a few scoops of our favorite coffee in them and getting personalized labels with our wedding colors to put on the jar. I wanted some second opinions on this...?

I think that's a good idea...who wouldn't use the coffee? Everybody loves coffee....this way you know the favor isn't going to waste and that your money is well spent!

I think it's a cute idea - - I also found these coffee favors and you wouldn't have to do all the work.  Probably cost you the same amount too.

I don't like coffee. It makes me jittery, and my stomach hurt :(  When I do, I get decaf, and I am picky about flavor.  I could go out on a limb and say I am not out of the norm in this.

I think coffee sounds like a lovely idea.  Please don't listen to CA2MT4EveR.  I have just been reading the board and every post they made has been negative.  How sad some peoples lives must be to spend their day cutting down the ideas of others.

    Enjoy your wedding,

    Nancy

I personally don't like coffee, but I LOVE this idea! It's something cute, personalized by you, and something people can use! It shows you put thought into what to give your guests and that is what counts most to me.

Funny you think this!  I help many people with great ideas on lots of stuff that is good.  Apparently you have stupid ideas and can't stand the fact that I try to help bring many people back to reality.

This isn't really the place to be arguing. I was just wanting some outlook on my wedding favors. My FI and I love coffee and many of our friends and relatives will get good use out of it. Most of the people I know have a cup of coffee before work everyday, so I think it's great for my wedding. Thanks for everyones opinions and suggestions.

    Hey!

I hope this is helpful, we're having a seattle themed weddign because most of our family and friend are from california even though we live in Seattle. So we're doing all the typical stuff. Coffee was one of our ideas as favors too, but we have quite a few coffee snobs and people who dont like coffee. So instead we are getting the packets of Starbuck hot chocolate.

So maybe if you go with the coffee idea is having another option such as a jar with your favorite hot chocolate too for those who dont like coffee? But then again, its your wedding and if coffee is something that symbolizes part of your relationship, do it! Its a wonderful idea! :)

If you like the idea, it sounds good. Better than many of the ideas on this board.  I should have quoted the person that said "everyone loves coffee" and just wanted to point out that not everyone does.

I think it's an awesome idea. I don't even like coffee but I still make it when I have people over. It can be refrigerated and kept for a long time so it's not like your guests will throw it out or anything.

Coffee would be a fun favor that hasn't been done to death like some other stuff has.  While I personally don't drink coffee, I know lots of people who do & would be able to pass the gift on to someone else with ease.

Thanks for your input. I love the idea of hot chocolate. I might just go half coffee and half hot chocolate. I know the kids at the wedding don't want to take home coffee also. So I think that I'll do half the favors coffee and half hot chocolate. Thanks.

I think this is a Really cute idea.. however I work at Starbucks, so obviously my first thought would be "freshness".. once you open a bag of beans, they're technically only fresh for 7 days (according to Starbucks standards).  I probably wouldn't do it for that reason and the fact that people can be such coffee snobs.  On the other hand, there's people who love coffee but don't know enough about it.. therefore, they wouldn't know bad coffee if it slapped them in the face. So you might be good to go.
