I'm planning on myself and the ladies in my wedding party wearing orchids in our hair. The wedding is early, at 10 am, so I was planning on picking up the flowers the day before. I was also planning on each lady getting ready on her own in the morning wherever she spent the night, and I will do the same, thinking this would be easiest for everyone (and more peaceful for me in case I'm nervous!)
My mother and I had some trouble arranging the flower in my hair when I took my bridal pictures, so I thought it would be best to distribute the flowers at the rehearsal dinner the evening before so everyone would have them for when they fixed their hair in the morning and we wouldn't have to worry about fussing with them after we arrive at the venue. Once we get to the venue we will only have about 15-20 minutes before the ceremony starts. My concern is that, if I distribute the flowers at the rehearsal dinner, most of us are staying in hotel rooms which probably will not have refrigerators.
Distributing the flowers in ice chests seems like a bother, not to mention a possible waste if I purchase styrofoam ice chests. And I'm leery of asking hotel staff to keep anything in their refrigerator even if they are willing to do so. One of my bridesmaids will have a fridge to store her flower overnight, so at least she can be ready to go and able to assist the others if needed, and it would not be a problem for either her or my fiance to keep the other hair flowers in a fridge overnight and make sure they are handed out when everyone gets there in the morning.
Sorry if I'm rambling here, I'm trying to brainstorm the best thing to do, and I'd appreciate any ideas anyone has! Do you think the orchids would be okay if left out overnight? Or do you think if the ladies all know they will need to get their flower and finish fixing their hair, it would be fine if I do distribute the flowers upon arrival at the venue, and the 15-20 minutes should be enough time for everyone? Thanks in advance!
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
Re: Flowers for Hair
Since you had difficulty with your flowers previously, you should speak with your florist about possibly changing them to make them easier to place in your hair.
