FI and I are having an iPod instead of a DJ or band. Our reception lasts from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The thing is, I only have about 5 hours' worth of music ready to go. We'll have guests who enjoy a wide variety of music (though all songs need to be "clean," due to part of the family being Mormon), but now I've just run out of ideas. I've googled and googled and I'm tired of googling! Can you help? What are you playing at your reception?
I need both slow and fast songs.
Thank you!
Re: Need 10-20 more songs
Have you selected music to play while people are eating? That could potentially beef up your list if you choose some standards for your "dinner set" that people wouldn't necessarily want to dance to. Such as:
"More" - Harry Connick Jr.
"L-O-V-E" - Nat King Cole
"As Time Goes By" - Jimmy Durante
"S'Wonderful" - Diana Krall
"Unforgettable" - Nat King Cole / Natalie Cole
"You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" - Stevie Wonder
etc. I could give you at least an hour's worth of tunes like these, all clean and accessible to a wide audience. If you are interested let me know and I'll post more.
These are our songs we knew we had to have- our first dance is either going to be the first or second song on the list because of when we first started dating my FI would sing them to me.
And the Guns n' Roses song is the song my mom gave me when I was born so it had to be on there.
The Cure - Lovesong
Voltaire - Anniversary
Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition
Animal Kingdom - Strange Attractor
Dire Straits - Romeo and Juliet
Bright Eyes - First Day of My Life
Elton John - Your Song
Guns 'n Roses - Sweet Child 'O Mine (mother daughter)
Oasis - Wonderwall
Band of Horses - No One's Gonna Love You (More Than I Do)
Iron & Wine - Flightless Bird, & God Made the Automobile
I would love to see your dinner music list.
Thanks!!
