    You're not getting it....I'm not saying that I would do that. But, other people would. I do think you should do your work on your own....but you cheat....so what, lots of college students do.

    I highly doubt it would be THAT hard to find out your name and what class you're  in.

    I guess you don't realize how malicious people can be on the internet. Have you ever heard of the website 4chan.com? People on there do outrageous things...find where ppl live and go to their house. My point here is I don't really give a flying eff if you cheat or not. But, your professor probably does. And you never know who is reading what you post.

    Weirder things have happened.  But I do get the point.  It is a public board.  ANYONE can read these boards so we do need to be careful and I know I am completely guilty of this myself and need to stop doing it.

    This. When I became FB friends with some girls on here, I realized one of the girls is good friends with my old assistant's best friend. The same assistant I came on here and complained about and made some not so nice remarks about. I also mentioned giving her a really poor review. If that had somehow come to light while I was still with my old company, I would have been in BIG trouble.

    I was going to weigh in on what you were saying about spark notes though. And this is not a judgment at all, I just wanted to weigh in from my experience. I don't know if you cited spark notes in your paper or not--if you did I can't imagine it would ever be a problem and just ignore what I am saying. But if you didn't list it in your works cited, since you're supposed to cite all sources that you consult in writing your paper, some instructors might view it as plagiarism since you are technically using someone else's reading and interpretation to help you write the paper without crediting them. It's extremely unlikely that it would ever come up, but I have seen people fail courses over this sort of thing, so I thought I would mention it.

    Again, please don't take this as a comment on the ethics of what you're doing, it's not. This is just my advice from a practical standpoint. And I realize that you didn't ask for my advice, so of course feel free to ignore it.

    I had many profs that would compare essays with students who were friends in their class. They take these things pretty seriously.

    Dtay - I can see how your flame could be construed as a little threatening. The tone when you said something similiar to "it wouldn't be that hard to find your name." was a little un-nerving. But, it is true this a public forum and true that we need to watch what we say. Calling Nat out on the married man thing, totally not cool. Lots of girls admitted to that and that was a catty attack.

    I guess I need to dumb down what I'm trying to say. I didn't call her out for sleeping with a married man. I called her out for posting about it and saying her husband will never know. Yet, she posted it in a public forum.

    Maybe I'm just a paranoid person. But, I wouldn't post things on a DFW board that I wouldn't want my husband to know.

    Well there were other girls who admitted things that were similar, but you only called Natalie out after you informed her that this is a public forum--something that I am certain that she is aware of. I just didn't read into her post to conclude that she was cheating. It is a book, he is reading it and sharing his understanding of it. She is writing her own paper, if her husband understands the purpose and that she is writing said paper and using his intellectual property, then BFD.

    Rather, I disagreed with the fact that out of all the things you could have posted to prove your point you chose that example. I thought it was low to bring that up since it was said over a week ago and obviously not something that someone would want brought up again and again.     Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. You may find my comment low, but the fact that you say someone wouldn't want it brought up again and again yet they posted it for all to read on this forum, I feel just backs up my initial argument.

    Just to be clear, I'm not judging her for her actions. But, I was shocked to read that comment followed by "my husband will never find out."  Like I said, I guess people don't realize how malicious some can be.

    I think I might just lurk from now on and never post anything helpful, but only come on FFF to pick people apart for the sole reason of stirring things up...

    Sometimes even things pointed out are obvious.  I obviously know this is a public forum and I wouldn't post anything that I would worry too much about because people do "accidentally" come across it.  Hello, It's the internet.

    I've been think this too. That's sort of why I've been slowly becoming more of a lurker then a poster. I'm just done with people taking silly little nothing comments too seriously. Alas, it is what it is.
