GL Tiffany! Hang in there Brianna! So I finished Christmas shopping a long time ago. This year is my first year to go to DH's family Christmas festivities. Apparently they draw names each year. A month ago his mom called and said she drew us. I said, did we 'draw' anyone? He said no, he never "draws' anyone. Okay. His mom called yesterday to tell us who we "drew". UGH! Shoot me.
    Posted by serlace
yeah....i drew the couple that lives in Alaska...lol...shoot me...

cost damn near $50 to SHIP the box...and it didn't even have anything heavy in it for that purpose.

Lacey - haha I can sympathize. Probably before you got married he was still a "kid" ... once you get married you have to join the big kid group who only gets one gift. That's the way it works in our family, LOL.

    Brianna - Is everything okay?
Tiffany, good luck on the house! Keep reminding yourself why you want THIS house, because you can bet that the rest of the process will be just as fun as getting the offer in. Last night, I had the house to myself, and I accidentally browsed through baby names most of the evening. Even though we aren't TTC. I'd be in trouble if DH knew... so I'm only telling you ladies :)
    Posted by angieandjames
I "accidentally" browsed baby bedding last night. But if I got caught I could just say it's because SIL is expecting twins, or because my BFF is TTC, or because I recently designed a baby shower invite for someone so I'm doing "research" for future ones. lol

I am just excited because my stepsister loves beanie babies. I was able to buy 15 for her for only $8! Yay! She will be so happy! :-) And I am officially done with Christmas shopping. I kind of cut it close this year.

I think I upset DH last night. I was talking to him about him going back to school and he seemed a little too lackadaisical about it. I told him that we could not TTC until he finished school because my salary and what he brought in was not enough for a kid.

I then went on to tell him that I thought his desire to have a family would be motive enough to go to school and that I was surprised that he didn't seem interested. I think he thinks that we have tons of time. I guess he forgets that I'm 29 and if we wait any longer then 5-7 years it will be dangerous and I don't want to be an old mom.

He was quiet the rest of the evening and not himself. I wish I didn't have to "nag" him. No one likes the "nagging" wife. Uhhhhh!

Oh FI gave me the "nag" comment the other night. All I wanted to know was if he had sent my mom tracking numbers for the presents he had sent to her house for me to open Saturday. When I don't get an answer, and your Internet over there is crappy I have to ask a lot cause I'm not sure you got it.

Rene -- This is tough! I thought you said you weren't going to have any kids though??

FI and I happened to have this conversation last night too. We agreed a year ago to wait 2 years after we were married. Since we aren't living together and everything, but last night he said he wanted a kid in a year or less. We both want a big family and I don't mind it too much. This will be further discussed now, but I didn't expect HIM to have baby fever.

I hate my job! I mean dread coming in, don't like anyone except 1 perosn I work with, and try to think of excuses to call in(even though I don't). I can't leave because they are about to start paying for my school and I've been here a year so I'll have maternity leave and it's good insurance. DH can't put me on his insurance because his company doesn't offer spouse benefits so I'm stuck and I hate it!!!

Having kids is not something that I desire. If it happens ok, but if it doesn't then ok. However, he really wants a kid. And because he wants one I want to give that to him. You know?

I just think that if this is something that he wants we need to have the bun in the oven within the next 6 years, which would be just enough time to finish school and get his career going.

I will be working on my resume over the holidays. The one bad part of this (well, maybe) is that if I do get an interview I won't be able to do anything until mid-February or so. I don't even get to take a lunch, much less a few hours off during the first 2 months of the year. TGIAT (Thank God it's almost Thursday) because that means only one more day here and around certain people before I get some time off!

Oh baby, baby, baby. FI seems to play dumb when I remind him of the conversation we had after a month of dating: I will not be procreating. Not to mention that I cannot, but no having of the babes for me regardless. That is a dealbreaker for some guys, which is completely understandable and the overall reason I told him upfront, and I KNOW we had this conversation. It was painful for me to say.
SO with all that said, why is he on the baby train now?! Maybe our guys brains are going through the natural progression --1) marriage, 2) babies-- which makes them completely forget about any logical conversation that is had before the 'feeling' kicks in. Ugh. The frustration of 'why don't you remember this conversation' is beyond aggravating, especially when it is important information!!

I'm at that point too - and right now, I've been promised a promotion (we're looking to hire someone for my current position so I can focus on bigger projects), but my boss keeps getting flaky on start dates for the new hire. I think I'll spend most of the winter break looking for a new job.

Ed told me the moment he fell in love with me was the moment I said "I never want kids." Lately he's been hinting, but it's in the sense of "I don't really want kids but it would be okay if it was with you." UM NO!

FFIL and my mom have both said "please no grandkids", FMIL hasn't really said anything one way or another (although Ed says she wants them), and my father is always bringing up "when you all have kids" and that we'll change our minds.

Me, 90% of the time. I have my moments where I get frustrated with upper management at our corporate office who think they know what's going on locally, but this job comes with so many perks that it balances out. Right now I'm just so exhausted from 3 straight weeks of 12 hour days that I need some recovery.

Dear dude begging in the Tom Thumb parking lot,

I feel for whatever your situation is that causes you to have to beg, I really do. When I come out of Tom Thumb (with zero cash) and you chase me to my car sayings "ma'am, ma'am" that makes me want to run there faster and lock the doors behind me. Your creepy.

i have a taser, gun, and knife for such situations lol

although i know what you mean, it IS creepy...and actually quite annoying. And generally i don't give cash anymore...i go into the store and bring them some sort of food. You can get fruit, sandwiches and what not in tom thumb, walmart and other places for around $1.00.

Plus, they have places they can go now, ESPECIALLY in DFW. Such as The Bridge and other homeless alliances's.

It means a beautiful indoor location with lovely outdoor murals painted on the walls, such as elephants tromping through the woods.
