I know I may sound crazy and redneckish/countrish, but I promise I am neither. But on Saturday, FI and I went to the 12 acres he inherited from his dad. We picked up a bunch of scrap metal to turn into cash to use as spending money for our honeymoon. We picked up scrap metal for about 2 hours. Yesterday we turned the scrap metal in , and were surprised on how much it was going for. We had dirty tin and it was $12/100 pound. We came away with $125 to put toward our honeymoon. We probably will do this a few more times before it gets really hot here in Texas.
I just had to share this cause what someone else thinks is trash can be turned into cash

June 2012 April Siggy Challenge: Rings
I just went to a vendor fundraiser and there was a cash-4-gold rep there. I brought some of my OLD jewelry (from prior exes) that FI didn't know I had. I ended up getting $485 for a ring, a bracklet, and 2 necklaces (that were already broken). Still deciding on what to do with the money and if I should let FI know or not tell him and surprise him with something for his 40th b-day in April.
June 2012 May Siggy Challenge: The invitations
We usually do it before we take trips. We went to Montana a few years ago, and was able to get $500 for scrap metal. We took our time and separated out the cooper, tin, steel, and aluminum.
Stuff just shows up on the front porch. Also neighbors drop things off into the trailer because they just don't want to deal with it themselves.
Now if only I could get money somehow for all the tires we have been finding burried on the land.
