Update on "sad story"

I can't find the post I made on this board, but a few weeks ago I posted this story about a couple who's getting married on the same day, at the same church as me, whose relatives suddenly had to cancel their plans due to the new visa rules between Canada & Mexico.[url]http://talk.theknot.com/boards/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=61462991&forumid=413[/url]Turns out that the family CAN come after all. I think that the media attention helped, plus they got some kind of immigration agent in Mexico to help them expedite the process. Yay!

    That is fantastic ring_pop! I was thinking about them yesterday with Harper's "we will not change the requirements any time soon due to abuses of the system" BS. I am so glad it worked out for this couple!

    I'm really glad to hear that! I just got back from Mexico on Sunday and I talked to a bunch of people there who were unhappy about the new visa regulations and wondering why our gov't had made the change.
