Wedding Planners-Who's had/got one??

So I'm taking the first steps into this and my mom and I decided it'd be a good idea to hire a wedding planner (She travels 40 weeks a year and I have no desire to coordinate every vendor/organize this wedding myself. Not that I couldn't do it, It's just not my thing). I've sent out a few inquiries and was wondering if you ladies have any suggestions.

Currently, I'm looking at (All clicky): Warning-some of these have music, so if you're at work turn the sound off:)

Anyone have any experience with any of those planners/companies? Or did you use someone different and love them? Have anyone you absolutely loathed and I should stay away from? Any advice is appreciatedSmile

I will tell you, I already kind of love Event Perfect. I used to watch "Who's Wedding is it Anyway" on Style or We or one of those channels and she planned a few of the weddings on that show. She's also personally responded to my e-mail (not an automatic response), not long after I sent it on a Sunday. Her website isn't the best out of these, but the service is pretty awesome so far!

I actually have been looking at 3 Goats Tall (clicky). Met them at a bridal show in Lagrange. They are really nice. I am probably going to go with them...and they are crazy affordable.

<div>Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely check them out!</div>
  • We interviewed Daria at Circle of Love Weddings (for a DOC).  We REALLY liked her and I heard great things, but we ended up going with Sashay Events.  My friend and her SIL both used Sashay so we went with the personal recommendation.  My wedding is in May though, so no review just yet. :)
  • I hired Janice Blackmon and so far she is great in every aspect!!
    Give her a call!

  • A friend of mine worked with Elly B Events and she said that she was a Godsend.

Thank you guys so much! Kimberly, I spoke with Daria from Circle last night and she seemed really cool. I liked her vibe and she was definitely willing to work with me on pricing and services. I am really looking into her 'lend a hand gold' package. I will check out sashay, too.

amorty, i'll also check out Janice. Thank you for the recommendation!

Knaija, I'm meeting with Eliana from EllyB this Friday. I really like her so far from our e-mail communications.

Honestly, at this point I think they all would do beautifully. It's probably going to come down to communication, price, what I get for that price, and how we click. I'm looking for a middle of the road package, more than day of services, but maybe less than full planning.
  • We are using Magnolia Events (http://www.magnoliaeventsatlanta.com/). Christina and her team have been so helpful through out the process, including fixing a near disaster with our invitations.

<div>Thanks aherbin! If you're at the invitation stage you must be getting kind of close! You should definitely post more. I'd love to see the invites that caused a near disaster!!</div>
