Finally Friday

Woo!  What a week it's been!

What's everyone got planned for the weekend?  Nothing huge for us, but we're leaving Wednesday for our San Antonio trip.  Very excited!

Re: Finally Friday

  • Sounds fun :)  I don't have a ton planned this weekend, but I like it that way!  I have a lot of stuff coming up this spring (babies, weddings), so pretty soon my weekends will be very busy!

  • fun!
we are going to *try* to do our taxes tonight... (crosses fingers...)
nothing planned for tomorrow, (probably will end up spending a lot of time continuing to swear at the taxes, haha...) then we are having a couple friends over for a st. paddy's day meal and beer! yay!

  • Lol you're not a dork Kristan, I'm still pumped too!
Lots of random little stuff for us.  I'mg etting a new phone (finally).  Mom has started seeing a new guy (first since the divorce!) and they're coming over for dinner tonight.  I"m really excited to meet him!  Tomorrow I am helping judge a French speaking competition, then we are babysitting our nephew.  Should be fun!
  • Have fun on your trip Prof!  I would love to be going somewhere warm right now...

This weekend there''s a St. Patty's day parade that my office  has a float in, but right now it's snowing and isn't supposed to be much better tomorrow. Plus, my sister and her bf are supposed to be coming up tonight to visit for the weekend, but the weather isn't looking good so they might not be able to make it :(

Weird thing is, last year for the St. Patty's parade it was at least 60-70 degrees, and we were all in t-shirts... stupid ND weather!
  • Boston.  St. Patrick's Day.  'nuff said.

</div><div>I've never been huge on St. Patrick's Day.  I'm really glad it falls on a weekend/during Spring Break, because high schoolers are incredibly obnoxious on St. Pat's...</div><div>
</div><div>Kristan, we got a really good deal for a hotel on the Riverwalk (I can't remember which one), plus a gift card and two dinner vouchers.  I'm going to print the list of places Adam Richman went on Man vs. Food and we'll try to hit all of those (GIANT CINNAMON ROLLS!).  Along the way we'll stop in Dallas for my birthday and Waco to see ILs.  I think we're also planning a stop in Austin to see some friends there, so it's going to be a nice tour of Texas.  =)</div>

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Finally Friday : Oooh, Prof - if you get the chance, have breakfast at Mi Tierra ( <a href="http://mitierracafe.com/)." rel="nofollow">http://mitierracafe.com/).</a>  It's in the historic part of town and has awesome food.  I get so nostalgic when I go there. Also, PM me if you need a place to stay in the Austin area.  My parents own & operate a B&B in Marble Falls.

<div>Thanks!  We're probably only stopping for lunch in Austin so we can get back to OKC relatively early, but thanks for the tip!</div>

I can only imagine how crazy it gets there for St. Patty's Day!  My office takes the holiday a little more seriously than most, since three of the partners have an Irish background.
  • It funny to hear about Sunday plans. In MN alcohol can't be sold outside of restaurants on Sundays (no liquor stores or bars open, alcohol can't be sold in grocery stores). So our parade is on Saturday.

And I am also still totally pumpd about the pope. This amazing article was in the paper today: http://www.startribune.com/world/198385381.html
