Location for Rehearsal/Welcome Party

I'm a destination bride and am planning on hosting a non-traditional rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding for all of our out-of-town guests to attend.  I'd love for it to be a simple party -- even a pig roast on the beach would work.  The wedding is in Clearwater Beach-- but I wasn't sure if I could do anything on Sand Key Beach. Any thoughts on affordable restaurants/locations to host an outdoor "welcome" party with light cocktails/heavy appetizers?

I don't know about prices, but I love Columbia Restaurant. They have an outdoor area and they are right across from Sandkey. http://www.columbiarestaurant.com/clearwater.asp

I'm actually getting married in Clearwater Beach this Saturday and we are using Columbia for our rehearsal dinner. They are great to work with - there is no minimum required and the price per person is very reasonable. Another place to look is Shepherd's Clearwater Beach Resort. We are doing a casual "meet and greet" there on Thursday evening for the out of town guests and they reserved the back patio area overlooking the beach for us. They also have no minumum required to spend. Good luck! :)

Columbia gets my vote also. Their sangria is to die for, and their food is amazinggggg.

    Columbia is a great idea.
Shepards, though, is not.  It's known as a teen hangout - where teenagers go to hang out, drink beer, get in fights, and puke on their shoes.

Shepherd's is packed with the younger crowd on Saturday and Sunday afternoons mostly. On Friday and Saturday nights, it doesn't get real busy until later in the night. They will section off the patio/restaurant area since that normally has an older crowd and will get you away from those coming in from the beach. We went out there a few times to check it out and make sure. Even though we're just doing a casual meet and greet there, we still wanted to make sure it was OK. They hold wedding receptions there too so they're pretty good about keeping you away from the crazier crowd Smile Good luck!
