Are you kidding me?

I'm gone (still gone, actually) for a few days and all he'll breaks loose and I (almost) miss it? Vendors POSTING on the knot? I couldn't have said it any better than EKobs and the ladies in the Knot Annie post. Girls, I'm back in Boston on Monday. If the policy is not changed, I'll be more than happy to establish a rouge posting forum for us where we can actually express ourselves and our opinions. Freedom of speech is why I live in America. I could go on for hours about this, and the fact that we are being singled out is making my blood boil. You shouldn't have to be thinking of alternative ways to post your vendor reviews, which have always been balanced (because if the aren't we'll call you out), other brides on other boards aren't. I'll probably get kicked off for even suggesting this. But you know, truth be told, if the policy doesn't change this isn't a place where I'd be posting anymore anyways.

I just looked and that DJ is not even an advertiser.  So basically we are all going somewhere else if this doesn't change, making advertising on the knot much less valuable to advertiser (less traffic)....and they changed the rule for a guy that doesnt even advertise with them.

I actually think he does advertise, if I've got the right guy: http://tinyurl.com/ye4nnuy

EKobs - couldn't agree more. I think I can host a forum as a part of my Wicked Bride domain. No advertisers at all! I'm completely serious. Policy doesn't change, I'm gone. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. Wish Seidl was around - happy she's in Aruba - but she'd have a few choice things to say.

Oh I can't even tell you how angry I am that he QUOTED Jeni's personal email. And we all know how to give a vendor a nicely worded kiss off, the fact that she didn't book him speaks louder than her words.

oh, GardenByrd you're right.  I looked on the Boston Knot page at the link above.  at least they got that out of it!If Knot Annie doesn't change things or at least respond, maybe we should come up with a post to see how many would go rogue.

Seriously - I've never even heard of that DJ.  Why is he so concerned with one statement on a post that didn't even get a star???? According to the DJ, his business is the sh!t.  I find it hard to believe that  one lil comment could force him into bankruptcy. ROGUE BOARD!!!

"If Knot Annie doesn't change things or at least respond, maybe we should come up with a post to see how many would go rogue." Kobs - I think THIS is the post ;) I'm back Monday, if the policy isn't removed before then, I'm going rouge. I'll take anyone who wants to go with me. The only requirements are a cameoflauge outfit and a love of civil liberties.

I also think its funny (well not funny) that he decided to specifically talk about jenwindy.  She was one of the fairest brides I have ever seen with her reviews.  She personally went to vendors and gave them a chance to rectify things before posting her reviews!  Obviously we know she does not take reviews lightly!

Another thing is, jenwindy didn't criticize his dj skills, just that he was pushy over the phone.  Not cool of him.  We should keep a list of vendors who watch TK.

Kobs - agree. Vendors need to realize this will hurt their business, not help it. A lot of my vendors get mixed reviews on here, it didn't stop me from checking them out myself and making up my own mind.

Sign me up for the rogue board. I am sick of this nonsense. That DJ emailed me this morning asking me when I would mail his check for losing a client. Really? He needs to get over himself.Where is Seidl when we need her? I'd like to hear her selection of choice words. :) We're holding our own, though. The vocal uproar from everyone speaks volumes. That DJ opened his own can of worms.

Jen, I honestly think that is harassment on the part of the DJ. Who says that, honestly. Brides are here to make their own decisions. Yes, it helps to read reviews, but one person isn't going to change my mind about something. The DJ is ridiculous to email you and say you owe him money for a lost client. I would have some choice words for him, but that's just me.

agreed :)I haven't been a "bride" on the knot for a long time, a few months... but I have been on the knot for over a year helping my best friend (my now MOH) planning her wedding. We both agreed that being able to get honest reviews of any wedding service was one of the most important things on the website. Nothing is worse than going somewhere bridal store, wedding store, or meeting with any vendor and having a bad experience. You want your day to be perfect, you dont want to have to deal with vendors or businesses that aren't "up to your standards." Weddings aren't cheap and you want to pay for a service that is everything you expect or want. That's why the vendor reviews are so helpful, you can't the bride's side of the story which is the side we clearly all need!

OMG! Jenwindy that is crazy! He is seriously digging his own hole!  I agree with pp that we are all here to make our own decisions and one bad review would not deter me from doing a bit of my own research on a vendor to see if i would or would not like to use them.  But if a vendor posted back to a not so great review the way he did I would not look into them.  I have never heard of him before either and I looked at a lot of DJ's.Honestly, I don't think a normal respectable company would email someone and say that (IMO).  Ughhh out of control!

OMG Jeni! I'd be plastering that email all over the place. I am not a better person but I'm glad I have Kobs in the same boat for company ;) It is harassment and poor business practice.Who's going to hire him now from TK after reading this? Has he really done himself a favor? I think not.

Count me in too! If the policy isn't reversed I have no interest in continuing to post here just to have to listen to lame vendor ads. If I wanted that, I would go to the phone book.
