Happy Wednesday (whoever is here)

Good morning.  I don't know if anyone's left or if I am posting to myself.

Anyone have any great plans for the day?  I can't get motivated this morning.  My only plans for tonight are going to bed early, because I am exhausted.  Also, it is thundering like mad outside.

Re: Happy Wednesday (whoever is here)

  • I'd love a thunderstorm right now!  I'm so tired too!  I got this wicked headache last night out of nowhere.  Well not nowhere, I think it was because I didn't eat any protein at lunch, just had a salad and I got way too hungry on the way home from work.  Anyways, I'm dealing with the remnants of that this morning.  Coffee is helping slightly thankfully.  I'm stressed this week.  Jocelyn starts school in 2 weeks and I'm not prepared.  Trevor started a new position which is YAY great but he won't get paid until the end of September b/c he switched to the monthly cycle with this new job.  Just being a worry wart I guess.  Whatevs, life goes on and that stuff will start regardless.

I'm so glad I stepped down on the board at her school though for this year.  I'll enjoy just being a regular parent planning committee member and not have the stress of every month stuff that HAS to get done.
  • Morning Bay! This is a P&R. I'm getting ready to head in to an all day meeting/training. For some reason I volunteered to help so I have to be here early. Not feeling it this morning. Have a great day everyone.

  • Good morning.  I was actually going to start a morniing thread today, as I officially have pre wedding jitters and cannot sleep ugggh.  So let me focus on something else for a while.  Looks like it is about to pour here.

So what does your ticker mean?
  • Morning Petal!

Hiiii, Stacks!  That must be so exciting/nerve-wracking, J's first year at school.  I'm glad you can just be a parent instead of being on the committee...sounds like a lot of stress and extra work.  Congrats to Trevor!  And I hope your headache clears up soon.

  • Ha.  Actually this is her 3rd year of preschool, I'm a super old veteran at this now.  She won't start kindergarten until next year.  Crazy right?  She's like as tall as the 2nd graders but she's only 4 still.
  • Are you talking to me, JGreer?  I'll answer even if it's not.  Wildfire is a camping trip I take 1 - 2 times a year (this year I got tickets to go twice) in eastern CT.  It's a fire-spinning convention. Classes, performances and workshops, plus vendors and camping with some really cool people, at a Boy Scout reservation, so there's a lake and cabins and everything.  It's my favorite time of year.  And it's two days away so I really need to start packing and get some damn sleep because I know that I'm never going to sleep well this weekend.

    Morning!

I have the day off today so have some errands to run, meeting with florists today & going to school to hand in some forms. I got the refund on the semester I was charged for but didnt attend! I dont know why they decided to because I was still in the process of filing their really long forms but I'll take it =) I was able to sign up for classes finally.

FI broke his foot and is in a cast, it hopefully comes off on the 31st and working is going to be a bit difficult for him since hes on his feet all day but he says he can do it.

How's the weather looking for you this weekend bay?  It's been chilly here, but I bet that'll be nice at night for you, campfires, spinning fires.  I hope it's perfect.  Did your friends make the list yet?
  • Not that I've heard, Stacks :(  The weather is shaping up to be high 70's - low 80's, and partly cloudy!  I have hope!  One year it was apparently so bad that the wind blew some tents loose.

  • yeah, Bay, I was.  Sleep deprived me realized you probably had no clue.  Anyway.  Sounds like a great time, but not for rest, so you better get some tonight.  I guess that sounds bad.

Stacks, your DD (right?)  is beautiful, my FI granddaughter turned 4 yesterday, and nowhere near that tall...she's supposed to be a FG is the wedding....but Lord, don't know that she will ever make it.

Any advise on how to deal with this pre wedding emotional stuff would be great. or else the next 59 days will wear me out...
  • Prewedding stuff advice:  Make a list of everything, prioritizing from most important to least important.  Finish the most important and don't stress if the least important gets done.  If it's that important to the overall day you will complete it.  Don't sweat the small stuff or your day will be over with many regrets, live in the moment and find the enjoyment out of every situation.

For instance.  I picked up my cake the morning of my wedding.  Top tier straight to the floor.  What'd I do?  Laughed my a$$ off.  Because I mean really.  What's the top tier of the cake going to mean in 10 years?

And thanks, I think she's pretty cute too!  :)
  • Glad the weather is going to be good!  Fingers crossed it stays that way!

How'd your FI break his foot Dileni?
  • Stacks - We are in the process of moving right now and on sunday he was moving a heavy coffee table with shelves, he picked up the coffee table and one of the shelves fell off and hit his foot.

  • Morning!
I need to get my butt in gear and get in the shower.  I am helping to interview people at work today.  4 hours of interviews...gonna be a blast! hahaha

  • Oh ouch!  That's awful!  I hope it heals quickly.  Moving is scary.  The time we moved before this last time we were almost done, just had a couple more loads in the car of small things and we were done.  T went to take the trash can to the curb, when he leaned it back to roll it a piece of glass slid down and cut his hand.  It ended up severing the tendon at his knuckle.  I took him to the hospital where they took him right into surgery.  He was so funny though all he cared about was being done.  He's like go while I'm in surgery and move more stuff.  He ended up with like 6 months of rehab after that.
  • Dileni- sorry about your FI.

I have to get ready to go to work.  Big funeral tomorrow, which was not on my agenda this week.  Thanks for letting me focus on something else this morning, hope all of you have a great morning.
  • Ow, ow, OW, Dileni and Stacks.  Those sound horrible.

  • Thanks jgeer & Bay.

Oh wow! That is so scary! I'm glad there was no blood involved with FI's injury - I do not handle blood well. Moving is a pain, thankfully we have been able to bring stuff over all month to the new place so we dont have to cram everything in.

It's just a pain in timing, we are in the process of moving, going to Europe early September and starting school so this was the last chance we had to work crazy hours and make us much as we can to put towards school & savings but the injury hinders it a bit. And we want FI to be able to walk in Europe so he has to be careful. Oh, life happens. hah

  • Is he in a walking boot or a cast?  23 days.  Very exciting.  Where all are you going while you're in Europe?

  • Ugh, LTB, I hate trying to sleep in those conditions.  Thunder is bad enough.

  • obviously I am a get ready for work procrastinator.

LTB.  I confess I have found great comfort in much vodka, so much so that my boss, who happens to be a pastor, called the other night and said there is an emergency at work, and I had to say, well the problem is...oh and sleeping during a storm also leads to vodka for me.
  • Do you guys ever watch Intervention?  Talk of drinking just made me think of it.  The one on this week was about an alcoholic.  I've been around alcoholism a ton in my life but I'd never seen anyone like this girl.  It just broke my heart and she was so young, probably like late 20's.  I wanted to just bring her home with me and make her happy.
  • Bay, Wildfire sounds like so much fun. Be sure to get lots of pics.

I'm going swimming with dolphins today with my aunt. It was her idea and her treat, so definitely not something I'd pass up. Plus she is afraid of animals, even my sweet Sir Whisky, so I'm planning to be entertained by her freakouts before even getting in the water.
  • I've never watched Intervention, Stacks.  That sounds so sad :(

Sesh, have a GREAT time!  Swimming with dolphins sounds fantastic.

  • stacks, BOTH of those new interventions were heart breakers.  Did you see the one about the older woman?  It was horrible.  But on a happier note, I was really glad that both of them got clean...but they were both so painful to watch.

andalso, I hope I did not offend anyone by my last confession, and on that note  I am off to work, and I mean it this time Wink
  • I haven't watch the meth grandma yet.  I have it DVR'd.  I can only handle so much at one time of that show.

Sesh have a blast!  That sounds like a perfect day.
  • LTB, I would go to WWoHP and Seaworld with you in a heartbeat.

  • I can't watch Intervention. I think I'm too black-hearted because usually I just end up annoyed by the addict and wish someone would tell them to just get over themselves. Same with Hoarders. The people just irritate me, especially when they start screaming. It would be different, I'm sure, if it was my friend or family member, but on TV I can't  handle it.

The only Hoaders guy I felt bad for was the guy with the rats. Him breaking down when they took them away, it was just really sad to me and I wanted to hug him.
  • LTB are you staying in Orlando? I really want to go to WWOHP too, as does H. I haven't been to SeaWorld in forever. Harry Potter is next on our list.
