Good morning!

Re: Good morning!

• Morning all. Nothing much here. H is in Ohio for work, so I had breakfast for dinner last night. It was yummy.

I got a wedding invitation yesterday for a Tuesday wedding in November, with an RSVP date of July 6th. Oi Vey.
You know when you are on a nice cool airplane for a few hours, and then you get off in say, Florida in July and hit that wave of heat that might make you all over backwards? That's what it feels like to me. I walk outside and boom it hits me. Out of a store, it hits me.

En route to California, my best friend and I had a layover in Dallas, Texas. It was August, and when we touched ground at 10:30 PM, it was still in the 90s and I have no idea what the humidity was, but stepping out of that airport felt like walking into a huge stick of hot butter. It was disgusting. I have no idea how people survive that on a daily basis.
In Response to Re: Good morning! : FI actually went away that weekend, and when he came home I was like "Oh, hey, so I turned the A/C on Thursday morning and it hasn't been off since." That was on Tuesday night. I'll be honest, a heat wave like that is my biggest fear for the wedding because the church is not air conditioned. I realize I'm kind of inviting it by getting married in August, but still.

One of my (crazier) friends actually had a fire spinning jam that Saturday evening. We all lay around in the grass panting and daring each other to actually light up.
I can't even imagine 84% humidity. I'd look like a poodle. Does it actually feel almost wet outside? I've been to FL in the summer but I don't remember the humidity for some reason.
Posted by lovethebeach16
Yes, it actually feels wet sometimes. It's like the air is thicker.

Were you at the beach? If there is a sea breeze the humidity usually isn't quite as oppressive, but it is killer if you are inland.

• Good morning!

I'm being productive today as far as my personal life is concerned. Work will get involved sometime soon. I've added H to my insurance, applied for my bus reimbursement and filled out the paperwork to change my name. Soon I'll make the trek over to the dreaded Social Security Office to turn it in.

Now off to read the thread.
• It's only supposed to hit 89 here today, but we had scorchers for the past few days. I always look ridiculous going to work in the summer because I wear pants and a sweater because our office is so cold.

I'm happy because our friends' wedding is this weekend and they are supposed to have 75 degree weather and sun!

• I love the heat, and tolerate the humidity. But, I think it's chilly below 70 and cold below 50. I keep the a/c on 85 through the week when I'm alone.

it's a struggle in the winter to keep the heat on 70, I freeze all winter, and spend lots of time in front of the gas logs to keep warm!
I unfortunately cannot live anywhere that doesn't have higher humidity. With my eczema, the wetter the better (teehee). Unfortunately, it's not so great for my asthma. Luckily, I don't want to move to a non beach state, so I don't have much to worry about.

My hair and skin do better in high humidity as well. That is one trade off, I spend barely any money on moisturizer.

• Ugh, just looked at the extended forecast (I know it will likely change before we get to the day), but our wedding day is flanked by days of rain. I need to pray to the wedding gods to have some dry ground. We're having our ceremony out in a garden.

It currently says 82 degrees, humid with partial sunshine

Morning! It's supposed to be 100+ again today with smog warnings and humidex out of control. This is very strange June weather, but I'll take it.

My horse was worse this morning. Well, his gait was impoved but his swelling was further up his leg and over his hock (like his rear knee). I turned him out to let his legs stretch and he took off like a bat out of hell squealing and bucking and farting and galloping to the grass. I guess he is feeling better considering yesterday he tentatively walked to the grass. But still. Grr. I shall call the vet tonight depending how he comes in from pasture. My poor pony cakes.
H and I are looking at the house tonight with my boss to see what he thinks in therms of $$$ to fix it up. I am excited!

• Bay, congratulations on the new addition to your family! The father sounds adorable. :)

Cfas, I hope time flies so you can get your bloodwork finished and can eat. I would have flipped out if I saw that charge on a card.

Meg, when we got off the plane in FL OMG it was so freaking humid and hot it was ridiculous. I much prefer it to cold though. I'm with Anna, I get cold very easliy.

Gurr, I love breakfast for dinner. Or lunch. Whenever really.
• July, you can't trust an extended forecast. Hell, you can't even trust the forecast for the exact time of day that it is. Weather people are 99.95% wrong.

• Habs I hope your horse is okay.

• I prefer not to look at the humidity because it will only make it feel worse than it already is. I'm super glad I wore a cute dress and heels today which was another excuse to drive to the bus stop instead of walk.

Habs, I hope your horse is okay.

• Thanks, Midge.

We are at 70% humidity here today.

• Ugh, my mom's friend wants us to stay at her house while she's on vacation to watch her dog. Her house kind of weirds me out, because they're total slobs and even though she's been having a cleaning lady come I KNOW how gross that place has been. Plus her dog is annoying as shiiit. She has a pool, though.

• July it did the same thing to me too. They can't know that far out. I just laughed and exed out of it. Ugh so I may have a sinus infection? My tooth and cheek are hurting and I've been sick since last Monday. Just give me the antibiotics. At this point I don't care.
• Morning everyone. It is sticky outside, and I was almost to the Metro when I had this sudden panic that I had forgotten to turn off my flat iron. I walked all the way back home to find that it was off. By the time I got on the metro I felt so gross.

I need a good night's sleep. I'm taking Cheyenne back to the vet to see if we can resolve her tummy troubles, and maybe then she will stop waking me up every few hours. I usually keep a bowl of dry food for them to nibble on during the night, but since she is on a specific bland diet she can only eat the special food and she HATES not having access to the dry food.

• Ugh...I just checked the other invitation I got yesterday, and went on their registry and this is what I was greeted with:

Description: We are cordially inviting you to our wedding. We are picking out the gifts throughly. We prefer gift cards or cash, if you do not feel comfortable purchasing through the registry online we will have a gift box at the reception.

And it's all gift cards. Undecided
• Mornin'! It is definitely H-O-T up in New England. Especially when you realize that we don't have a/c in my house. Thank goodness I have it at work, but my poor puppy is just panting away right now. We're going to put the window fan (not window a/c, but a fan thing) up at lunch time.

The hottest I've ever been was when we went to Corpus Christi over the Fourth a few years ago. The group of us decided to not even go see fireworks outisde. It was so freaking hot!
• Ranchers, that is one thing that I am NOT looking forward to in the south. DH complains about the cold up here!?! I complain about the heat down there. I'll take cold any day!
• If it makes you feel better, winter was kind "meh" everywhere. I will miss the four seasons though. DH says it never snows enough in Tennessee to warrant using a shovel. They just use a broom. Weirdos!
• Terrible winter. We skied twice. Blech.

Ick. What the heck is the point of "registering" for GCs?
Ha! The good ole' broom trick. Most of the snow we get here melts by lunch. But we do get ice which IMO is way more a PITA and dangerous.
Posted by rachers1017
That's how it is here too. I don't care about the snow, but the 1.5" of ice, I could definitely do without. Especially since the minute people even HEAR that it's going to snow or ice, there is a run at the grocery store. It's ridiculous. I'm just glad everyone is going to get bread, milk, and eggs. I'm getting steak and beer.
• One of my friends rolled her car because of ice after they moved to Tennessee. I hope to never live somewhere that gets icy.

• Morning! I just got to work, traffic sucked.

Anyone know of a cute idea for a coffee table for a small room? Our living room is super small and the coffee table that we have takes up tons of room.

• Yeah, ice can definitely be more dangerous. I just couldn't believe it when one of my final exams at Virginia Tech was postponed due to "snow". I walked all the way to campus to learn that I should have checked my email that morning. LAME!
