Re: Good Evening Ladies

  • Yeah KK if I made a thread I wasn't going to put the info, I was going to say PM me, and flat out say no lurkers or rando newbs that i've never seen.

  • Beach- Lol when I first saw that I stopped for a sec and then realized we must have the same first name too.  :)

  • My mother is driving me crazy.

  • Okay that's what I'll do.  I sent messages to Fish, Birdie and Loopy on FB and just told them I wanted to include them if they want since they were in the original group.  But I'll do a post now too.  I think the more people we have the better it might be, since last time half the people quit and only 2 or 3 of us were still doing it at the end.

  • I was just thinking about when we were playing a2a and Pictionary all the time, and there were always lurkers and people from other boards joining the rooms.

  • Oh yeah I definitely agree.  I have no intentions of making it open to just anyone.  If I don't recognize your name immediately, your not in.

  • She is hounding me about coming over and where we want to go to dinner and if she can babysit while we go to the soccer game.

  • I miss a2a.  A lot of people didn't know who I was when I played though because I was still brand new then.

  • No Jal, you were new but we knew you.  There were completely random people who would just play and create fake names, or just say they were lurkers.

  • Ciara, my baby nephew is due on May 18, and my mom whined to me today that my brother said "he didn't want her to see the baby every day."  I told her I didn't blame him, and she was baffled by that, so I told her I wouldn't want her coming by my house every day either.  Then she said, "Well yeah, of course I wouldn't stop by their place every day.  I wanted them to bring the baby to my house every day!"  And she was genuinely hurt and confused.

Grandparenthood brings out the crazies apparently.  My mom is usually rational.

  • My mom and I don't have the best relationship. She's not coming until next weekend which is her birthday and the weekend before mine. But she just expects me to answer everything right away and know exactly what I want at the drop of a hat.

  • I didn't ever play a2a because I felt like I lurked too much and people wouldn't know who I was... And that would be weird with a bunch of people who all know each other.
I'm working on the posting more thing.
  • Yeah, if I played at night most people knew me.  I played a couple times during the day, and not many people knew me then because I didn't usually have much day knotting time.

  • KK your mom is just a little nuts. I wouldn't be driving my newborn to grandmas house every day either.

Its also brought out the crazy in my FIL. he was hounding us yesterday about our insurance. He wants us to buy his house when he sells it. What he doesn't understand is that the payments on his house we can't afford and his yard reeks because he doesn't take care of it and has 2 dogs that live in a 12x12 foot kennel. Plus he has modified the inside and he did a crappy job at it so it needs a lot of work.

  • Yes, my otherwise normal mother has gone off the deepend.  The baby even got an Easter basket this year, and he's not even born yet.  SIL might just hop the first plane back to Egypt to escape.

  • I probably would too. I'm just glad that my mom lives 300 miles away and can't just show up at the drop of a hat.

  • and a2a is?

and ciara, i'm sorry, that has to be very frustrating.  I can imagine my mom being a crazy if Fi and I ever have kids... she's a crazy now and we aren't even married.

It's actually called Nuts and Bolts or Nutsy Bolts or something?  We call it a2a because it's an online version of the board game Apples 2 Apples.  You can create private rooms, send invitation links (or post them on the boards), and play with your friends.  So we went through a phase here where we played it constantly.

  • No problem.  People still bring it back every once in a while, so you'll probably see it.
