Coffee and Pastries in here!

Re: Coffee and Pastries in here!

  • Morning all!  We didn't really do anything all weekend, which I loved!  I cleaned the house, did some laundry, drank some wine, and watched the Olympics.

Did anyone hear about the uproar about Lochte wearing the red, white, and blue grill when he was accepting his medals?  All the radio stations around here were in debate about if it was disrespectful or not.
  • Eagles, how many workdays do you have left this week? I can't believe you're so close!

  • Did you have to bring up snakes, ugh, they freak me out!  Screamin, running and hiding type freaked out.  And I know that is irrational, but they get me.
  • That sucks eags! Especially this close to the wedding. At least the end is near til you have a super awesome party.

  • They were saying it was disrespectful to the Olympic uniform.  One guy called in and said "well, if that's considered disrespectful, than all of the people who put the flag around their shoulders need to be talked about too".  Or something to that effect.  I just couldn't see the big deal.  He took it out for the podium, like they asked, and then put it back in.

And Eags, I'm with you on the tool part.

  • Get that paper bag out Eagles, it says 4!
  • Good Morning!

I'm a bit in pain today.  FI and I went on a picnic yesterday and then rented paddleboats.  The picnic was in the shade, and we were out in the sun on the lake for no more than 45 minutes and I'm completely burned.  Damn translucent sking.

I had my first shower this weekend, it was a lot of fun, though it's starting to feel real that the wedding is coming now.

I'm working a bit longer each day this week, so that I can leave early on Friday for my birthday.  I'm not sure how much longer I'll make it today though.

  • Just found out I'm getting off at 6:30 instead of 8. I have mixed feelings. I'm sure I'll be ready to go home by then, but so far, this week is shaping up to be fewer hours than it was going to be originally.. What was originally going to be almost a 60 hour week is probably only going to end up being 40 or 45.

  • Oh, and I managed to lose my debit card somewhere in the lake.  Damn.

  • Good morning ladies.  I'm jealous of everyone's vacations coming up.  I have a repairman coming later for our A/C because there has been a steady drip for a while and a puddle on the garage floor.  I think the drain line just needs to be cleaned out, but I would rather pay the $60 with our warranty than try to do it myself.  And it's our anniversary today so I may go shopping later or get a pedicure to treat myself to something.  Or you know, just drink.

  • Happy Anniversary Beachy, if I was where you were, I would drink with you.  Do treat yourself!
  • Cash, we'll be in town by the 7th.

  • Eags, I feel your pain- my head is on fire today. I made the mistake of wearing my hair in a bun, and now my head feels squished and is all throbby.  I think I need something caffeinated.

I'm leaving tomorrow for the Cape and I have so much to do before I head out.  Besides packing, I have some major kitty snuggling that I need to fit in.  I dont want Cheyenne to stress out and get sick again.  I may end up sleeping in the man cave again tonight just because I am guaranteed to have both of them sleep with me the whole night.

[QUOTE]I have no idea what I would do with a snake in the house. Probably barricade myself in a room until J took care of it. Unless I knew it wasn't poisonous in which case I would let the pups after it.

If I ever came across a snake or scorpion in my house, I would burn that mother down and start fresh somewhere else. That was my biggest fear when I moved to Texas, I was just waiting to come across some giant scorpion and would have packed up my shiiiit and moved back to California.

Morning all!  I had a pretty good weekend even though H wasn't feeling good so we had to cancel our friday and sunday plans.  i was looking forward to them too.  But I went out with a couple of friends on sunday and we had a good time.  Went to a wine bar and spent too much money and then out dancing for a bit.  Man, I haven't been out dancing in forever; forgot how much fun it is and how painful high heels become after a night on the dance floor.

</div><div>It's easy.  If you need it really soon (like, couple of weeks) you can make an appointment at your nearest office and get it same day. But they are really strict about the travel arrangement timing.</div><div>
</div><div>Cali-- We found a scorpion in our apartment in Italy.  I mean... ITALY, FFS. it was just a tiny, pale mother. But I had terrors at night when I got out of bed for a few months. That's when my H found it-- after we'd gone to bed and he got up to use thebathroom. *shudder*</div>
  • Thanks ladies!

  • Ski, you have to renew it.  If you just got your passport in the last year, it's a discounted price.  If it's older than a year, you have to pay the full fee.  And send them a copy of your marriage license so that they can change the name.

  • totally understand. BTW-- we were totally not friends on FB. I have now sent you a request because that's whack.
  • Hey, Mica!  Have you run into any iguanas yet?  They're all over SF starting around your area.  THose suckers go into a hibernation-like state and fall out of trees if there's a freeze.

[QUOTE]How on earth did we let that happen, Snips? That's just wrong. I'd love to get together that Tuesday afternoon I hope we can work something out. I'm usually out of work pretty early. :-)

Tuesday we were planning to hit up Fredericksburg so we'll be a little closer your way.
  • Good morning!  Happy Monday.  I didn't want to get up this morning.  Three nights in a row the dog has disturbed my sleep.  I'm ready to vote her off the island.

I'm just picturing walking around SF and getting beaned in the head by a falling iguana.  That would be odd.

Morning! Haven't read any of the thread yet but I was super confused about the title. Clearly it is Monday and I need to wake up.

We got our photographer's album yesterday so I was busy with work and AWing myself all over the office. :)
  • Morningmorningmorning!  I'm putting in my notice today!  I just confirmed with one of the other supervisors that my boss will be here in the flesh today.  I was a little worried, because Mondays can be iffy with her sometimes.

We found a snake in the garage yesterday.  Shea just kept yelling "snake!" and I was trying to tell my mom to back up but she couldn't hear me over his yelling.  Note to self, don't rely on H during a crisis.  It was just a banded water snake, though.

And now I think I'm going to go next door for breakfast.

  • I don't even know what i would do if I found a snake in the garage or house.  Most likely try and lock it into whatever room it was in and then call an exterminator or animal control or something.  Actually I would probably call 911 like an idiot in a panic.

2 years Cfas.  Kinda shocked it has been that long already.
