  • OH aMrs! That must be a huge relief!
  • I don't understand specialk. I mean they were FROZEN vegetables. You can use frozen veggies on a bump to make it stop hurting, so really you were just giving him the cure for the bump he didn't even have yet. What's the big deal?

  • Flying into Amsterdam for a few days, then taking an overnight train to Copenhagen for a few days, renting a car and driving to Sweden, ferrying back over to Denmark and going to friggin ELSINORE (bit of a Shakespeare geek) and then back down to Copenhagen and flying home. Whirlwind!
  • aMrs - yay on the house refinance! I haven't seen you around in ages. How goes things with you guys?
  • Hiya toots.

I am finally in my office after getting to the hospital at 6:30 this morning to get all of my tests ran. EKG is normal and I will get my heart monitor to wear on the 24th. I made the mistake of allowing a student to attempt to draw my blood for my blood work, she f'ed my arm up! She couldn't find a vein and it was fing terrible. Then she took everything out and had the regular lady did it and she found a vein and drew my blood in less than a minute. I bruise like crazy and I am totally going to look like a junkie in a matter of minutes.

  • I still really love the matronly gladiator shoes you all hated. I don't know why but I do. I can't stop thinking about them.
  • Sheesh, Rosie, that sucks.  I had a tech at my college do the same thing to my arm back as an undergrad.  I hope yours doesn't hurt that much and that it clears up soon.

Hey you.  I see you;re back in OH already?  How'd the move go?

Things are going.  We got the one piece of good news today and hopefully H will be made full time at work instead of just causal.  This means he would get 4 weeks, vacation, 16 days, sick time and the biggy...if he is let go, 4 months pay for every year he is employed there.
Hopefully we find out about that this week too.

    I'll try to be around more...promise ;-)

  • Sounds like fun, Manda!
  • Manda, it's a low maintenance book club with just one or two book suggestions per month so we can get a discussion rolling on E.  So I think you should join.

Yup, I am back in Ohio. My Dad came down this past weekend and we loaded up the cars and he followed me back. I basically just brought what I needed (clothes, computer, etc) H is still in Georgia until Memorial Day weekend. He will bring the rest of the stuff then. We will likely put the big stuff in storage.

I accepted a job and start this coming Monday. He has decided to leave the company he currently works for. He is so unhappy with his job. I am glad we made the decision we did. My salary will support us for the time being as I will be staying with my Grandma and he will probably stay with his parents. Its not that he isn't welcome at my Grandma's, its just that it is a far shorter commute to work for me than from his parents house.

I am so glad to hear things are starting to look up for you guys. I knew they would. Let us know about you H's job. That sounds like a really good deal, so I pray it works out for you both.

Good morning everyone! I don't know how much work I'm going to get done today because I'm too excited about going to the opera tonight. I am pretty bummed that I have to miss the season finale of ANTM though.
  • Daff - I just feel like you could do better.  You know?

  • Morning ladies!

I'm feeling stupid because I have an interview with a student scheduled at 9:30 and it completely slipped my mind yesterday and I didn't call to confirm so that almost guarantees she won't show up.  I don't feel like I'm doing so great at this job so far.

I have Bumped on my Kindle ready to go!  I'm 50% of the way through this other book I'm reading so as soon as I finish that I'll start on Bumped.  I actually bought it the day before yesterday on Pink's rec so I guess it's lucky it was picked as the book club book.  By the way, we need a cool name for our book club so we can have a coon acronym to go with it.

  • daff, if the shoes are calling you, you will have to do what you have to do. :-)

anna I'm kind of jealous of your opera tonight! Have fun.
  • Good morning!  Our house is officially old stuff free (i.e. all of our old pre-wedding college stuff).  I'm so excited to have that part of our garage back (it was a giant pile of like 10 trash bags of old clothes (okay, those have nothing to do with the wedding) and 10 boxes of old kitchen stuff plus some bedding and a couch.  Except for the couch was in our living room (2nd floor cause we have a townhouse), and the Salvation Army guys were all like "Uh, we're not allowed to do steps for insurance reasons."  I wish the guy on the phone would've told me that!  At any rate, through some quick thinking, I was able to recruit the two nice amish kids that were working on woodwork for the new townhouse across from us to move the couch down the steps.  I gave them $20 cause I felt bad, lol.  Anyway, my house doesn't look like we're just moving in anymore.  *Happy dance*

  • Morning kids.  It does indeed look like the book club selection is Bumped.  I just got it for my Kindle.

I'm in a funk today, so I stopped at Starbucks.  I'm hoping this Caramel Apple Spice perks me up ;)

The opera is Don Pasquale, which I haven't really heard of before. And I thought I had heard of every opera in existance because I used to catalog playbill collections at my last job.

And we're just wearing our work clothes. He wears a suit to work everyday anyway, and I just wore a more cocktail-y dress than usual with a cardigan over it. It would have been fun to get more dressed up than our usual everyday work clothes, but we don't really have time to do that. Oh well, maybe next time.
  • Here's a question for you all.

I have been 100% grey for at least 5 years.  In the past two months, my grey hair is starting to turn brown again, or at the very least any new growth is coming in brown instead of grey (as it was doing).

It's really bizarre to see the changes.

  • Morning! I'm super sleepy today. My friend decided to text me for some reason at 2am some crazy ass text message. I thought I was dreaming until I checked and it was still there this morning.

Sooooo I volunteered to do this Junior Achievement this today where I'm going to teach 3rd graders. I'm really regretting this decision now. I have no idea what I'm supposed to teach. I'm getting together with the other people doing it with me to do a run through here in a few, but I just feel really unprepared.

    God help the children.
  • aMrs. - that is awesome about your hair. Could it be due to hormonal changes or something. I really don't know how old you are, so forgive me if I am totally off.
  • Good morning!

    Birdie that's awesome!
