Re: Wednesday morning!

• haha Manda, that's what I figure.  I tried to act real nonchalant, like "Yeah, I totally want a baby at 20.  It's in my five year plan."

• When we were in college, my BFF thought she was pregnant and asked me to go with her to the store because she was scared.  She didn't want to go to the one down the street from her house because she was nervous that someone she knew would see her.  So we drove two towns over to get it.

Unfortunately for her, the pregnancy tests were in the same aisle as the adult undergarments.  And there were two nuns in the aisle right by the pregnancy tests.

She freaked.  It wasn't funny then, but it is now.

• I used to care about buying all that stuff, but it's weird, I stopped caring as soon as I was married.  I guess I just felt like being married they can't judge me b/c that's what married people do - you know?  Silly, I get that.  If I cared what people thought I wouldn't have gotten knocked up premarriage - but - whatevs!
• Daff - Just buy them.  If they are on your mind, just buy them.  They probably look completely different on feet anyway!

I wish I could go off BCP, but I did for a year and my cramps went back to being the way they were before.  Bloody awful.  They hurt so bad they make me black out.  I don't know what to do!

• Stacks, I know what you mean. I didn't feel like I was really supposed to be having sex til after we got married. I don't even subscribe to any belief system that discourages premarital sex. It just felt more...legitimate after the wedding.

I had to go purchase pregnancy tests for a roommate before. I practially had to lock her in the bathroom with them too. I tried to buy plan b for her too since she had possibly been with two guys in one weekend (she wasn't sure) without any sort of contraceptive devices whatsoever but she refused to take it. This was right after the lease started and I was NOT prepared to share our 2b/1ba apartment with a kid. She didn't seem too concerned about it though.
• Manda, the other day H called and asked if I needed anything from the store. I wasn't really thinking about it and said, "Yeah, KY, cucumbers, ranch dressing, and razor blades." He was like, "Yeah...I'm not buying KY with cucumbers and razor blades."
In Response to Re: Wednesday morning! : But when I go to the doc in July I'm going to attempt, once again, to convince her to fix me. She wouldn't do it before because I was young and unmarried. Well, now I'm older and married. Tie me up, damnit.
Posted by Seshat411
My mom wanted it done while she was on the delivery table right after I was born. She was all, "well, you're already in there, go on and tie it up." The doc told her that he knew that it was a morbid thought, but I was her only kid and if something happened to me she'd want to have another and he wouldn't do it.

Ok, off to my hideous meeting. May God have mercy on me.
• LC - you have a brother right?  I thought he was younger than you.  So did your mom change her mind or is he actually older?  Just curious and nosy.

Wha??  Is it really that hard to keep track of how many people you have sex with in one weekend?

• LC, my mom said the same thing after my brother. But then they ended up hitting a nerve during the epidural and screwed up her back, so no go for that. My doc said before she won't do it if the woman is under 25. I'm 25 now, and H is 32, so now she has no excuse other than she personally thinks I will change my mind.
• Gotcha.  So were my half sister and half brother, haha.

She's a classy broad, what can I say.

We aren't friends anymore. She's one of the people I went to college with who I'm a tad embarrassed to be associated with now.
• I'm really conflicted on if I want to get off BCP after the wedding. One on hand, I think it would be kind of freeing and nice to back to my natural self before BCP. I think we could handle the TTA and if I did accidentally get pregnant, it wouldn't be THAT big of a deal because we plan on TTC in a year or two.

However, I used to get horrible cramps and I would feel sooooo crappy for that week. I also only get AF once every three months right now and it's kind of nice.

• Birdie I'm going to go off the pill once H leaves for his next deployment, and I'm dreading it.  I have been on it for like 12 or 13 years now, so I have no idea what my "regular" self will even be like anymore.

• DNB - I've been on it for almost 10 years now so I feel the same way.  I can't even remember what my periods were like.  I remember getting cramps, but I still get them now so whatever.

• To all of you debating going off BC because of cramps, at least try it. I was on BC since the age of 13 because of debilitating cramps, so bad I had to leave school and wrap myself around a heating pad and take a muscle relaxer. I talked to my doctor about it a couple years ago and she said your body changes as you age and it might not be the same way any more. I tried it and it wasn't so bad. Tylenol or Midol helped enough that it was more a dull ache than searing pain. And you won't know if you don't try.

I was on the pill for about 15 years.  The first few months off it were hell, but my body is finally normalized, so no more nightmare AFs (that was the main reason for starting the pill in the first place).
• Yeah I went home from school frequently because of cramps when I was growing up. I've been on BCP since I was 18. I think I"m going to at least try it to see what happens, but I don't have high hopes of my cramps suddenly being gone. My mom ended up having a hysterectomy because hers were so bad.
• Yeah I started it because AF was way too long and (TMI coming) too heavy.  I do remember being in middle school and high school (before starting the pill) and having my mom sign me out of school to go home and sleep with a heating pad.  I really hope you're right Matilda.

My other fear too is what the hormone change will be in the beginning.  I figure it's best to start when H leaves so that I have a while to adjust without worrying about contraceptives at all, and then we want to start trying when he gets back from that deployment.  But if my hormones are all out of whack, I'll probably be a blubbering mess while he is gone.  It will be interesting I guess!

• Yeah, my mom used to have to call the school nurse to let me go home because you could only leave if you had a temperature, but I didn't, obviously. It might take a few cycles to get back to normal, like Mica said, but I think it was worth it.

• Yeah, I'm more worried about potential mood problems with the flux in horomones, but I'm willing to risk it.  It's really more of a challenge for H, haha.

H definitely could tell when I went off the pill.  I was such an emotional wreck, it wasn't hard for H to abstain because I was too nuts.  I think I'm back to my usual kooky but not nuts self.
I'm laughing at everyone being embarassed to buy pregnancy tests. (which I originally typed as "testes"heehee)  When I was buying them hoping for a positive test I wanted to carry them over my head and proclaim "I AM HOPING I AM PREGNANT!"  No one cared of course. No one knows if you're buying them hoping for one result or another, it's all in your head. <strong>And if you really want to mess with the cashier, buy condoms, lube, a pee stick and some adult diapers all at the same time.

And don't forget the jumbo size box of either Tampax, pantiliners (the thong ones might be really embarrassing to mess with him), or the giant overnight Kotex. And a scented candle.

• This is so random of me, but I didn't want to start a new post about it.

There's a girl on one of the TN boards I frequently lurk on who thinks she is having a miscarriage.  I was SO sad when I read it, even though I don't "know" her.  I think I'm sadder than she is, because she's still posting all over the board like all "meh, whatever, NBD."  I know that's just how some people deal, but I'm like "WHY AREN'T YOU CRYING IN BED??"

I may also just be overly-emotional pregly.

Kiki, that is really sad. Maybe she's just trying to put on a brave face? Or maybe it hasn't really hit her yet?
