My recruiter is trying to screw me

Re: My recruiter is trying to screw me

  • Yeah, no way you'd catch me in that part of town right now.  I would go back roads to get to the shopping center where massage envy is on Shelbyville, because that's actually worth it, but that's about it.

I think the only crazy place I have to go here this week is the grocery.

  • I had regular fries.  If I would have seen Garlic Parm, I would have ordered that.

I had the Bleu ribbon burger, BF had Burning Love or something like that, and we got the small order or Jalapeno chips as an app.  Half of mine is still in the fridge.  Dinner tonight.  Red Robin.  YUM.

  • If I remember correctly, the traffic flow around St. Matthew's is really crap in the first place so it's even less fun to go there now. My S&BIL live in Jeffersontown.
  • I like the Royal.  Or whatever.  The bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg on it.  It's so bad for you but so good.

And, eh, fries.  GET THE ONION RINGS.

They're doing a study now about the feasibility of doing a monorail between the two malls. That would be pretty cool.

And yes, you're insane. But I have to do it sometime this week too. H wants some Jordan shoes.

B, what was so bad about that part of town?

  • Weird.  They're both pretty much the same though, aren't they?  St. Matthews is a bit bigger, right?
  • I've figured out a backway to the St. Matthew's mall, but I haven't figured out an easy way to get to Oxford yet. Actually, coming off of the interstate doesn't make it hard to get to Oxford, but getting from one mall to the other is a royal PITA.

I actually drove over to the Indiana side last week when I needed to make a run to a mall during my lunch hour. It was much nicer, even though I almost had to throw down with some old ladies in Sears. :)
  • Yeah, quite a bit bigger with better stores. I never go to Oxmoor if I can help it.

  • LVB - does your H want the ones that come out on Thursday by chance?
  • This was the first time I'd been there since high school, and the roads to go around the mall made little sense and seemed to make traffic worse.  I'd say if you knew where you were going it would be easier, but it made us say bad words.

    Oxmoor. Stupid Hoosier ;)

OH! I totally wanted to tell you. I win the alcoholic label for last week. I threw up all night long. I called into work and was 2 hours late. I threw up 3 times at work. I haven' t been that miserable in a very long time.

Oh! I don't know that he knows about them. Do you have a link? There's some blue and silver ones out I think that he wants. I don't know that he really knows what he wants. He's just a shoe hoar and wants another pair of "J's" really bad. I think he's dumb.

  • The two malls have different stores. Some are the same, but some are different.

I'm not 100% sold on the monorail idea, at least from the animations I've seen. The cars seem small and I feel like it would be faster to walk across the interstate from one to the other than to stand and wait for the monorail to pick you up.
  • I can't remember which one is closer to my SIL's house.  They live near the Hurstbourne Pkwy.

    haha oops.

And that sucks! I think Kate was feeling pretty good too. I somehow drank two bottles Saturday night and lived to tell the tale though. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing that my tolerance is starting to get pretty high. It's becoming more expensive!

I had to be careful not to say this too loud all weekend.

BF worked on a house in Borden that he fell in love with.  He wants to buy it.  It wouldn't be hard for me to relocate, but I'd probably be disowned by half my family for moving to Indy.

  • That would be Oxmoor then. But only by one traffic light. It's Oxmoor, one traffic light, the overpass for the interstate and then St. Matthews.

  • Well there's a pair that comes out on Thursday that Mr Stack is SOOOOO over the moon obsessed and wanting.  But I think they're so high in demand that I'd have to wait outside for the malls to open and throw elbows to get in line and hope I'm not too far back to get his size.  So sorry - Mr Stack.  No.  He got a pair just like them last Christmas that are all black and he has never worn them yet.  He just pulls them out to look at them every month or so.  He's a big fat shoe hoar too!

These are the ones he wants:

Are these the ones you're talking about?  Because they're much easier to get and are already out.

  • You can get to Oxmoor from Hurstbourne (wind through that neighborhood across from the Hyatt, sort of).  But, that just puts you on Hurstbourne, which isn't much better.

LVB, I meant the area near the malls, just because the traffic is a nightmare.  I used to go to JoAnns/Massage Envy by way of Baptist East, basically.

The east end area near the other factory isn't inherently bad, but there are some apartment complexes over there that are better than others.  Same with the area near the other one, though - some apartments are nicer than others.  Are you all staying put where you are?

yeah, I'm not doing more than one bottle again. Ugh, I was miserable. As long as your tolerence is high, you're not puking! So that's a plus!

I think H would really like those first ones if they were a different color. He already has some grey DCs that he likes. But he really likes the higher tops on those. And yes, those are the ones he thinks he wants. But who knows if I can get them or not. It's always a crapshoot in a real store because he wears a size 14. They usually only order 1 pair per store.

  • Yeah, I looked it up on a map.  They're so close.  Who thought that was a good idea?!  Now that I think harder, I believe we would go to St. Matthews though, because we'd pass under the overpass and go past a BestBuy.  My favorite area though, is the one farther out, that's an outdoor mall.  I guess that's near the Costco?

This is true! But it was embarrassing when FI asked why I was getting two bottles of wine for our Christmas party on Saturday. I just told him the second was to share with people :)

I noticed when we were home in September, that they have really started chintzing out on the amount in your basket.  Personally, I'm all right with that because there were too many to start with.

Yeah, we're staying where we are. But only beacuse we're on the second floor and we swore we wouldn't move again until we can afford movers. And we're just not there yet. I drive Hurstbourne every morning, so I don't think it's much farther than that .

    We had a mini-work/food vacation.

Dinner sat night @ Famous Dave's
    Breakfast/lunch Sunday @ IHOP
    DInner @Red Robin.

I had stuffed my face so much in two days that I had no interest in getting a fry refill.  And the server never asked.
