  • No, I don't throughly vet every company or charity I have ever done business with, but the SA thing is actually pretty well-known. I'm not the ONLY person in the world who feels this way. If you good Salvation Army and Homosexuality you'll see some of the info.

I'm sorry you feel I've insulted your favorite charity. I'm not campaigning to bring them down, or anything. Just donating elsewhere. I guess we're just going to have to disagree.

Fair enough. I'm just more focused on what they actually do than on their company bylaws and such. I also want a kindle for Christmas, so there ya go. Some common ground!

Well, I have that AND the iphone on my list. I think I'll get one or the other. Hmmm. if you get it and I don't you'll have to tell me what you think of it!
  • I think it's pretty darn smart to research charities before donating. I just looked up the Salvation Army's Position Statements (on their website) and I definitely understand why people would choose to donate money elsewhere.

I don't think that's valid at all. I'm against Amnesty International. I'd never give them a dime. I disagree with their stance on a few things and I prefer to give my money to OXFAM. It's a matter of opinion, there isn't a right or wrong in this if the opinion can be backed up.

Definitely. I haven't seen one in person yet, but I'm obsessed with looking at it on Amazon. At first I thought, "Whatever, I can get books for FREE from the library," but it will b so convenient when I travel. And there are a ton of classic books for kindle that only cost $1 or $2 instead of the $9.99 they charge for new books.
