Evening!

Re: Evening!

  • Yeah - my parents were really original with my name. There aren't many Amanda's out there ; ). My friends in HS figured out a clever way to set me apart from the 15 other Amanda's. My nickname became Panda....because it rhymes...and it stuck. So yeah - odd nickname right there.

Malibu and orange soda sounds AWESOME. That sounds like it would be a good Memorial day weekend drink... I should try this.

Edit: Typos. I swear I am not KUI.

[QUOTE]Malibu and orange soda. That's my go to when camping/dirt bike weekends come. But, those have to wait a bit longer, until i get health insurance back. Seriously, try that combo.

That sounds delicious, I definitely need to try that.

<div>I have to admit this sounds very gross to me. But I'd probably try it. I'll try almost anything once....except for chocolate covered bacon. I refuse to even touch that one.</div>
  • I have a little bit of whipped cream vodka left and we have orange juice in the fridge, I'm contemplating making a drink. It tastes like a creamsicle. It might help me go to sleep and just one shouldn't make me feel tired tomorrow... right? I wish I'd thought of this earlier.

  • Soooo.....even my nickname isn't unique. Blast!!

Angel - that sounds rediculously good. I love flavored vodkas. Cherry vodka + lemonade is amazing.

When FI and I went to Omaha for NYE his friends introduced us to Whipped Jack and OJ, which tastes just like a creamsicle. We fell in love with it but you can't get Whipped Jack in MN. What kind of whipped cream vodka do you use? Unless it's Whipped Jack. Then I'll be sad.

  • It's Pinnacle Whipped and it's delicious.

  • Snail - isn't Whipped Jack rum?

I just asked FI. You are correct, it's rum. Oops. I'm usually much more of a wine or beer girl- that's my excuse! Or stuff they make for me at the bar so I don't have to know what anything is.

  • It's is very sweet, but fun. And Memorial Day weekend is our long biking weekend! True story: I want to start a NWR thread where people discuss where their TK names came from. But I don't know if it would be too creepy, so I haven't yet.

  • Nicki - I don't think it's creepy. My story isn't that interesting though.
    imageWedding Countdown Ticker
  • I would participate. I don't think it would be creepy; most people's names probably didn't come from their first name, and they could always choose not to participate.

  • These drinks sound delicious.

We survived.  We're done for the night.  We made a pretty good dent in it, but you can't tell by looking.  We're watching Community and then it's bed time.  And no one is dead yet ;)

  • I don't think it's creepy. My story isn't very exciting either lol.
  • Sweet, maybe next week if I get a day where I can devote more time to TK, I will start it! This week has been full of double work days subbing the day, then teaching my regular theater classes and it's been tough to keep up.

I wasn't around earlier, so I have no idea what you're talking about, but part of me thinks that you were TTC because that would be a hilarious way to describe afterwards ;)

  • We've done threads like that before, Nicki, so not creepy!

Mine is so lame.  My name starts with a J.  H's starts with a K.  Our original wedding date was 10/9/10.  And thus, a star is born.

We found out today that we're moving Saturday morning, and we really hadn't started packing.  So tonight was Operation: Pack as Much of the House as Possible.

    I hate babies.

  • Chrissy, was Sam a boyfriend or a FI?
    imageWedding Countdown Ticker
  • I'm glad you got a dent put in JK. I hate packing, but unpacking is awesome. We are sick of living in the co op, and want to move out. But buying a house is still another year away. We could move some place cheaper and larger, but what's the point for just a year, KWIM?

  • Snail, that just made my night. Sorry J!

  • J - I'm glad you made some progress. And I'm very glad no one is dead. Lack of death always makes for a much more pleasant evening.
  • unpacking is NOT awesome.  No it's not.  Nicki, you can come visit me and unpack my stuff ;)

And this is probably a moronic question, but what is a co op?

  • It's super obnoxious, Snail.  Especially at work where two people are pregnant, another is TTC, and two more have kids already.  And since we work with kids, people are super confused that I don't want any.

There was a thread recently either here or on SB about who wanted kids and who didn't... I wasn't that interested at the time, but I kind of want to read it now, just to see where everyone stands.

Edited - Found it, it was on SB.

Because you can't enjoy/get along with/want to improve the lives of children without wanting 15 of them. I do want kids, but I'm never going to fault anyone for not wanting any. The world is overpopulated as it is, and it doesn't help that there are all these families cropping up like "18 kids and counting" that are having waaay more than their fair share.
