Re: Testingtesting

  • I CARE ABOUT THE BOARDWAR. I CARE.
  • Daff, I didn't realize that. I must be out of the loop.
    Emily- I agree with you.

LC - I definitely care on a personal level because (and I never talk about this) many people who think I am super lame I used to love as friends. I think the big difference is that I am not going to make a thread about how Amoro or Mandy or some one sucks. I just am not. I am not at that level of caring. That part is what I am above/beyond/whathaveyou.

I apologize if I seem holier than thou on ALL levels of this, but to be honest it is hard for me to talk about how I lost friends in the migration to SB because it hurts. So there is the dichotomy here of not caring enough to start angry threads or consistantly make snide comments , BUT I do care very deeply about losing friends - on that count you are right on.
  • I bet Mandy loves getting called out as sucky just now.

if you were banned, believe me, you'd want to make a post about it too.
  • You know what I think?  I think KA was just tired of complaints about Amoro and deleted her.  I don't think it's anymore complicated then that.  I don't blame anyone but KA and Amoro's history together.

then why did you stop posting here altogether? i don't think you or anyone else would've been shunned for doing so. in fact several people have continued posting in both places without an issue.

i don't get why the us vs. them nonsense had to happen to begin with. from where i sit, though, i think the notion that it existed had something to do with the fact that a bunch of people migrated to sb and stopped posting here altogether, while yucking it up about how much better it was over there.
  • Yes, losing friends has been sad and I still care about some of the people that post on SB, but all of that is much bigger than just a board migration.

    that's what I'm here for.
who wants to talk about Dexter?
  • Regarding KA being tired of Amoro: when you have millions of people posting all over the world, there will be some personality clashes. As the KGIC (Knot God in Charge), you just have to deal with it- good and bad. Deleting someone because you're "tired of them"- that's just bad business, especially when they can just make a new name, so deleting is unecessary in the first place.

KA's silence on the matter is very telling.
  • I agree Lala.  I just feel like the heels thing was the straw that broke the camels back and KA said, "ENOUGH, she's gone".  Everyone thinks that newbs are more likely to report mean comments, and I agree.  So in my theory she was reported by newbs and then the thread yesterday was called to KA's attention and it was the end of it all.

I don't think SB reported over and over, just like E would never report someone over and over.

However, my theory could be all BS because someone was lame enough to make the call out site.  I blame that on a newb too thinking they could change the world.
  • I think Daff is spot on in this thread.

  • Daff, I sometimes do post here. Not nearly as much as before. I also know that I have hardly posted on SB much this summer because my job has been insane. I guess I just got uncomfortable with E at some point and stopped even looking over here. My fault for not trying harder? Probably. I just closed up, you know? I also really really do enjoy myself on SB when I am there and I think it is an awesome group.

Anyway, I have to run to a meeting. I will be back later if any one wants to discuss this furthur or you can pm/fb me.

And Georgia, Mandy was just an example of a poster who posts here often. I hope you know I am trying to avoid making tidal waves and I would appreciate if you would support that.

Actually KA has been ignoring this board for a while.  I truly think she's over it all.  We don't even get the questions about articles they're writing to get quotes anymore, but I see them on other boards all the time.
  • I've seen the first season of Dexter. The next three are lined up in my Netflix que. I need to mail these back so we can start on Season Two.

[QUOTE]I don't think anyone here was ever forced to choose sides, but I know that in my life I judge some people by the company they keep.   If there is a poster who is extremely close and loyal to someone that I don't trust, then I'm going to pull away from them.  Example:  There was a brief period of time when Salt was new and she and MrsE were somewhat friendly towards each other, and I almost stopped interacting with her because of that.  I'm glad MrsE showed her brand of crazy pretty quickly so that was short-lived, but in this case because there was a move by several posters to another board, and then large groups of new posters going to each board not understanding why there's animosity and wanting to defend their board, the walls just keep getting higher.

I just think you could've refrained from naming names, period. NBD.

I don't get why everyone, or anyone who doesn't post here anymore and may exclusively post elsewhere now, who got "uncomfortable" with E. It's not like we all got naked and starting smoking crack. Can someone explain this to me?
  • I can see where it'd be bad business......but where KA would think otherwise.  So I can't really say if it was right or wrong.  Not that my opinion makes a difference regardless.  I just know I'll miss Amoro here.
