Come out drunkies...

Re: Come out drunkies...

  • Lynda that sounds very exciting LOL.   I have to go to a class week after next about recognizing drug/alcohol use and suspicious behavior.
  • I just got back from a Rogue beer tasting/screening of the Muppet Movie.  I feel hungover already!
  • Loopy. the class was not bad...It's just that I've had to perform CPR and/or be the first responder on a few people already, so some of the stuff I found sounds good on paper, but IRL it does not always apply as life is not as cut and dry as it is in the videos..

That said, more training is NEVER a bad thing.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Oh man we had a beer/wine/vodka tasting during the open house at our complex yesterday, and I was definitely a little drunk from it.  By the time I went around it was near ending time and everyone was trying to get rid of their supply.  I happily obliged.

  • Lynda I have done CPR training so many times, and I still don't know for sure if I would know the right thing to do in an emergency.  Also it doesn't help that they have changed the recommendations, so it definitely gets confusing.  I think as long as you have the general idea though, breaths and compressions, you're better off than doing nothing.

  • We went to the casino last night to watch a band.  They had fishbowls of alcohol for 8 bucks.  I couldn't pass it up.  Even after a huge meal I was feeling it.

  • i think my subdivision needs a beer/wine/vodka tasting

  • Haha I think it's a must for all communities.  They had the open house/welcoming party for the families of the ship that will be replacing H's, since this is the closest thing to military housing here.  Normally we don't have anything fun like this.

  • Helloooo Ladies!

I'm here drinking tea (sigh) and watching Supernatural (I'm a huge dork). Fi went back home tonight. Sigh. It sucks. But only 4 more weeks of LDR!!! :D:D:D:D
  • shiit i got excited about a possible community garden.

  • My complex always does free appetizers and stuff. We've only been her for 4 months so I wonder if they do tastings too? It seems like something they'd do.

  • Our neighborhood does nothing fun.  My parents neighborhood used to do an annual block party that was lots of fun when I was little.  We had a bike parade for the kids with prizes for the best decorated\ and a riding lawnmower parade for the *ahem* adults.
  • Oh and Spiffy I saw you ask on the first page about Red Box late fees.  Yes they do have them, they just charge you for a 2nd night on the movies.  So I'm really questioning right now if the $2 is worth me getting up and driving there.

    I'm thinking no.

Okay, I have chips, salsa and guacamole, a cheese/cranberry/hazelnut torta with cracker and chocolate chip cookies for friends tonight. I think I'm pretty set.

I've head good things about The Help. I have Room on my kindle too and I've been meaning to read it. Has anyone read Middlesex? I got to about page 75 and then I read some reviews that said the beginning was the most interesting part of the book, so I think I'm going to quit. I hate not finishing books, but there are so many books and so little time now.

My dad's community used to do a summer pig roast when I was a kid. A whole pig on a spit. It took like 2 days to prepare everything. I guess it's too expensive now, because my dad is the head of the association, but they don't do it. I think he'd trying to do something else, but he also hates people and being in public, so there's that.

<div>I wasn't sure myself.. but one day (about 8 years ago) .. I walked into a bar after work still in my work clothes on caring my bag (work bag) and all the sudden someone needed help.. I jumped in without question.. Being such a small island the EMS needed me to do CPR to the clinic..  Now the guy died (heroine overdose ), actually dead when I first started, but I knew enough about the island to know that you  CPR until you get to the clinic </div><div>
</div><div>I had another situation a year later and the guy lived..  Im happy to say I know I have no problem helping out.</div>

  • Loops - my H is so happy the goths are gone.

  • Yeah I agree that it's not worth it.  If H wants to save the $2 he can go return them.

So I've been working on my couponing skills lately, and I saved us $51 off our $140 grocery bill today.  Even though it was at the grocery store though, it was mostly things like laundry detergent, body wash, shaving cream, etc.  I was quite impressed with myself!
