Morning!

I am counting down the days until the weekend and then eventually Christmas!

So here is my big thing this morning, there is a calico cat that I have seen wandering around outside of our house for the last few weeks (although I have seen her more and more lately, like every day). Today I went to take the dog out and she was peaking into our porch and of course kelso saw her and started barking and that dang cat jumped and ran up a tree.

So I am thinking about calling the apartment complex next to us and asking if anyone is missing a cat, if not I am going to take her to a shelter. She is a sweet cat and has come up and rubbed against me and she meows at me when she sees me. She obviously is someone's cat, so if its not the apartment complex then someone needs to own her.

Re: Morning!

  • Poor kitty. I hope someone claims her.

I am sick today. I just want to go home and back to bed. But they usually would rather have people sick and working here than not, so I doubt they will let me off early. We shall see.

Only two more days till Christmas Eve at dad's. I'm excited. We might go over early and watch the game since Tebow is playing. My brother has been texting me nonstop about going over early, even though neither H or I care about football all that much.
  • Morning.

THat makes me sad about the calico cat.  My Jasmine was a calico and this made me think of her.

  • Good Morning!  I think that's a good thing to do about the cat Rosie.  I mean we've been lucky it hasn't been too cold, but it'll be really cold really soon.  I'm developing a soft spot for the cats in my neighborhood except I can't do a thing about it since I know who the owners are and they just choose to leave them wandering around.  My other neighbor feeds them, so I know they aren't going without, so I just have to let them be.
  • Poor kitty! There are 6 cats that live outdoors in our condo community. We call them. We call them condo kitties. They go back and forth between our property and the Jewish community center next door. One of our neighbors traps they strays and gets them fixed but then she releases them again. I guess because she can't take them in but doesn't want them to go to a shelter where they will be miserable and not likely adopted because they are feral. We aren't supposed to feed them, but I've put leftover chicken carcasses out before. And we turn a heat lamp on our back porch on when it gets cold. DH wants to take them all in of course, but I'm allergic and we don't have room. If you have room, Rosie, it would be awesome for you to take that cat in.

  • Morning.

I'm exhausted.  Not really a good sleep last night as I expected.  Chef-D does not like to be behind bars.   Even though he was in our room and could see us.   I'm mean he freaks the f'out and we have neighbors.  I have to go out for an hour and a half and I'm worried how he is going to be.

  • I would love to keep her myself but it wouldnt be fair to my cats or dog. But we could at least keep her in the basement if we can't get her to a shelter until after the holidays.

Hmm might propose this to H.

  • ALSO my parents have a glass door and she wandered up to my parents house last weekend and sat at the door meowing to come in. Almost broke my heart. Set my parents cats off though, they were not pleased.

  • Good morning!  I got to sleep in this morning, and I feel great.

One and a half day until my three day weekend, thank goodness.
  • Wonder if you'll have to be on your toes today, Mica?  The board was hopping yesterday.

  • Good morning! My two day weekend has turned in to a four day weekend. Merry Christmas to me! I just have to get through today and don't have to go back to VA Beach until Tuesday.

Lynda are you crating him? Or do you just have a pen up in the house for him?

  • HI HI HI HI HI!!

I'm super duper crazy suscited today. YAAAAAAAAAAAY!  I went in to the office this morning and had a couple of meetings, but now I am home! EEEEEEEE

My mom's bag hasn't shipped yet. *grumble*

I have this antibiotic to take, and the doc said "no dairy" for a couple of hours before or after I take it.  As an IDIOT, I took it just now while my lunch was cooking. Which contains dairy. NOOOOOOOO.  So I'm trying to satisfy myself with peanuts until I can eat. Suck.

I seriously need to clean the house today.
  • Mrs. B I think they will be updating the site the 27th and apparently will run for 15 hours. So maybe it's be a permanent fix?
  • That's a great turn of events MK!  Enjoy the 4 day weekend!

Have a really safe and great trip to the states snippy.
  • I'm in much better spirits today than I was yesterday. I also lost another pound so I'm down 53lbs now. Only 27 more to go! I'm also 8lbs away from moving in to just the overweight range of the BMI. My counselor was going to put me in to the maintenance portion of the program because of everything I'm dealing with, but she says I need to be at least out of the obese range. It's crazy to think that I'm still in that range after having lost 53lbs, but I am only 5'1" so it makes sense.

  • Wow MK, that's really just great stuff!  You've been doing really well.  Keep it up!
  • Good morning!  I'm only stuck here until 11:30, and then I get to go eat some delicious Greek food for free!  Woo!  I have to pay for my own sangria though.  Such is life.

MK, you are so awesome.  You and LDY have been such an inspiration to me.  Also yay for the 4 day weekend!

Rosie, devil cat is a little calico that ran up to H outside our house when she was a teeny tiny kitten.  I ♥ calicos.

  • MK, you are a total star. Seriously.

Oh! Lynda! Lucy hated being in the crate at first as well.  Weirdly, what helped her quiet down was having a blanket put over her. Give that a shot.
  • MK - we have both.  He freaks out at both.

Last night we didn't get home until around 8.  Didn't really have a chance to introduce the crate, so we arranged the pen in our room/bathroom.   Our room is small so the pen sits against our bed and extends into the bathroom.  The 'room' portion has a bed, toys and then he has the whole bathroom where there is some pee pads.   He just did not like being in the pen.  He wants to be on top of us.   Around 4 I filially could not take it anymore and took him out to the sofa where is promptly feel asleep on me.

Good news he went poo outside.   Peeing is a different story.  He likes carpet. He has stage freight or something.  I will catch him peeing on the carpet and stop him, but he never finished on the pad.  He did pee on the pads overnight though.

  • I shouldn't have read the T&P request below.  It's too early for me to cry.

I wish I could take the cat, Rosebutt. :(

  • We had to cover her pen also.  Don't keep taking him out though!!  You'll regret it later, for reals.  There were times I had to put Lucy in the living room so I could sleep.
  • I guess I'm the only one who hasn't minded the hilariousness?
  • Morning lovelies.

I'll hop on the Krupar and LDY trains- you guys are serious studs with getting healthy.  I'm really impressed, because I know how hard losing ~15 lbs was, so I can't even imagine how diligent you both have been.

LTB, thanks for emailing the ham recipe last night- H is really looking forward to dinner tonight, after I showed it to him :)

Rosie, I hope you can do something for the kitty.

Snippy, have a safe trip home.

Happy first day of astronomical winter, everyone :)
