Shameful Confessions

Re: Shameful Confessions

  • I bring tons of extra socks too. I just bring way too much stuff in general.

  • I always overpack underwear as well.

I can't think of any confessions at the moment, but I'm sure I'll think of something.
MuSu - If I don't have clean underwear, I'll just go without them. So there, gross confession, haha.
    Posted by angelstar975
I can't do that because my period is way too unpredictable. My cycles are really long generally, but I just know that if I ever decided not to use underwear one day, that would be the day it would decide to start. Kind of like how it once decided to start right after I had boarded a plane for a 5 hour flight. Or how my very first period also coincided with my very first time skiing.

    image
  • I don't think I've ever been a situation when I've been "out" of clean underwear. I know that I have to do laundry when I'm in dire straits and all I have left are raggedy ann granny panties. They're still theoretically wearable though, so ya know.
    image
  • That sucks, MuSu.

I always forget my swimsuit. We don't do "beach" vacations, so I never think of it, until the hotel has a pool and H wants to swim and I don't have a swim suit.
Boo, sorry Angel :( I'd be upset by that too. If you're not going to get something because you can't afford it or whatever, that's fine. Own it, buy me a card, and give me a massage or something. But I hate when people say "I'm getting you somethign! It's coming!!" and it never does.
    Posted by J&K10910
Exactly! That would have been totally fine. He got me an iPad and expensive perfume for Christmas, neither of which he could afford and I was a little annoyed that he spent that kind of money. For that reason especially, I would have been fine with him not getting me a bday present if he'd just said from the get go he couldn't afford it.

  • I never pack enough socks. I don't know why - I just don't.
  • I was so panicked about not having any underwear that I double triple checked everywhere in my bag, as if a HUGE pile of underwear would just suddenly explode out of a shirt sleeve or something, lol.
I think I could not wash underwear for two months and not run out. Granted, I'd have to resort to the ugly Christmas-themed day of the week underwear I hate wearing (wore "Monday" to the gym on a Thursday and felt hardcore judged). Socks are my laundry limiting factor. When I run out of socks... it's time to raid the couch for quarters for the laundry room.

This made me LOL.

  • My underwear is always exploding out my shirtsleeves.

Ugh, the other day, I was running late and yanked a pair of jeans out of the laundry basket quick. Totally found a thong on the floor of my car when I got out at work. I'm SO glad it fell out in the car!

This happens to me on vacations. I'm so paranoid about TSA looking in my bag and through my bras/underwear that I hide it in other things in my suitcase.

I also have never ran out of clean underwear. I guess my confession can be that I obsessively buy underwear. H got pissed at my once for buying more and actually counted to prove to me that I didn't need more. I had just shy of 400 pair.

  • I was also sad that I forgot a sports bra. I like to wear one after I get home (hate regular bras) but I forgot to bring it. So I'm having to wear a built in bra cami under my lounge clothes, and my family is just gonna have to deal with it. hah. Normally I wear no bra, but around my dad and teenage brothers that would feel a little awkward.
    image
  • I could probably go...six months or so without doing laundry and still not run out of underwear. I'd have to wear the pairs I don't like, but still. I own stupid, stupid amounts of underwear.

This is hilarious to me. I pick my underwear knowing TSA will see it, so I make sure to pick pretty and nice pairs. When they see my underwear, I want them to think "She's probably hot, but also classy." That's....probably a shameful confession. Ha!

  • Haha J! I know what you mean, that has definitely happened to me before! Usually it falls out before I leave the house but I'm always like OMG thank goodness. This pile of underwear was substantial enough that me searching through shirt sleeves was a little silly.
    image
  • I don't run out of it at home, but if I forget it on vacation, I just go without. Luckily, I've never been in that situation where I had to wear a skirt and had no underwear... that's probably the only case where I'd go out and buy more.

I'm a serious overpacker. When we went to Florida a few years ago, my suitcase came in 1 lb less than the weight limit before you have to pay extra. On the way home, it came in 3 lbs over, and I had no additonal stuff, so Idk what that was about. I basically bring my whole closet on all vacations. And for a weekend, I bring about a week's worth of stuff.

I have a far too many underwear. I love underwear. I think I have this weird underwear thing because growing up I always thought I would have to wear Mormon 'sacred' underwear. Now that I know I don't, I get a little over excited and buy a million pair of underwear.
  • Ha - I also own tons of underwear. Most of it I don't use because it either doesn't fit properly or is falling apart or I just don't like them. But I never throw them away because I always have in the back of my mind "Just in case...."

Oh I definitely pick the nicer pairs or at least the cute, fun, girlie pairs. But still, it creeps me out to think some random is pawing through my undies. And then having to wear them without washing them. Ick.

I definitely don't mean this be disrespectful, so I'm sorry if it comes off that way, but what exactly is Mormon "sacred" underwear? And what makes it sacred?

  • Aw, sacred undies! I'm glad you can wear skanky undies if you want, Erin. :)

I called my mom and she is gonna pick up some underwear for me on the way home, hahah. Which is funny because we are so not the same size so the cashier might be wondering if my mom likes to wear really really REALLY tight underwear.
