Re: Tuesday morning

  • Morning!

My dogs are licking the oven cause we cooked steaks in them last night & the sauce must have leaked.

My week is going to be insanely busy - and I work till 7 PM today =(

  • Good Morning!  I accidentally worked 2.5 hours longer than I was supposed to yesterday so I get off at 2:30 today.  Not sure how I mixed that up, but it was nice to get a long day out of the way early.  So I can't complain about how this week is shaping up at all.  :)

    How's everything with you Bay?
  • Good morning! Today I am back to work :( boo.  I wish I had taken another day off this week because there are still a ton of presents to put away.  Our place is a mess.

    Have a good day everyone!
  • It's crazy windy here.  I did not sleep well last night, despite efforts to go to bed early.  Sigh.  Is it really only Tuesday morning?  I still have a very early meeting tomorrow morning and a lecture to give in Orlando on Thursday morning (with Thursday clinic still preserved -- ugh).
  • Two hours earlier today?  Sounds like a pretty good compensation for the overtime yesterday, Stacks!

I'm doing well.  I hadn't wanted to talk about it until things were definite, but I guess now I can say something.  Aunt C pulled through and got me the house -- called and told me yesterday afternoon.  I'm signing the "lease" (just an agreement that I pay the rent and it's month-to-month) sometime this week and I'm going to start moving my things over this weekend.  H and I are continuing counseling, so we'll see what happens once both of us can get a little space and perspective.  My moving to the house is temporary -- I can stay there MAYBE six months -- but I figure in six months I'll know for sure whether or not things are going to work out, and I can look for a new place accordingly.  I'm nervous, but excited to officially "start" the separation.  The last three months have been on and off incredibly difficult.

  • Yay for moving, Bay!  This is a really good thing, and I'm glad your family was able to figure things out.
  • D - dogs cleaning the oven.  Well, at least you don't have to use smelly oven cleaner, right? ha!

Mica- is your lecture at one of the hospitals or is there a conference here?

  • stacks - yay for 2 hours of free time!

bay - whoa!  I know I'm behind on things from not being around as much but I had no idea you guys were having problems.  I'm so sorry!

  • Bay that's awesome that you have a place to go! Sounds like a wonderful plan!
  • Good morning!  Chelseamb - It has taken us about a month to begin getting our place cleaned up after our wedding.  I went back to work within a few days, and when I get home I'm exhausted.  Looking at the piles of stuff, I couldn't even figure out where to begin so I just never started lol.  Finally, this past weekend I started getting things put up.  It's just hard for me to find the time to clean out the kitchen and the closets to find places for these things.  I have to say though, it's a really good problem to have. :)

This week isn't shaping up too well for me.  I work in a doctor's office and we have been very short-staffed for a long time.  We are drowning.  Even though there are 5-6 people in my office, my CW and I are the only ones who answer the phones, which ring constantly.  At that rate, I can't get everything done, and work just keeps piling up. :(  It's a real problem when I do all the procedure scheduling and then patients call me exceptionally angry because I haven't called them yet.  I'm at a loss, and I'm so frustrated because no relief is in site.  Yesterday, I just wanted to walk out.

  • Well that's a great thing Bay!  I'm glad that you get a mini reprieve from worrying about things.  It's just time to find out who you are, who you've become and who you want to be.  You have every opportunity to change your destiny right now if that's what you choose to do.  Best wishes with everything.
  • Chels, take your time.  You don't need to have everything unpacked and organized the right away.  It will all get done :)

  • Mrs. B -- I'm going to lecture at a hospital.  They contract with my department to provide them with their continuing medical education, and in exchange, we get a decent honorarium and a night in a hotel.  Of course, it's mid-week, so H will have to stay at home with the dog, and that means driving over after dinner on Wednesday and then returning just in time to go to clinic on Thursday.  But heck, I will be able to buy a dishwasher with the honorarium, so I'm not complaining too much.
  • Yay for dishwashers!    Sounds like it will be a long 24 + hours for you.  It's still supposed to be raining through Thursday so I hope your drive over is safe.

  • Chels -- our place was a wreck for a month after the wedding between trying to combine two apartments into one and all the gifts with all their boxes and that city's rules on how much cardboard and trash you could throw out in a week.  Don't worry about it.

Love the sig pic.  Congratulations, married lady!
  • Heck, we're STILL decluttering and downsizing from combining 2 households.  And it will be 5 years this weekend.

  • Thanks ladies! :)

Yeah idk why I want to clean it up so quickly.  We leave on Sunday morning for our HM, so I was hoping we could come home to a clean house.  Probably won't happen haha.
  • Thanks, Mrs. B.  Driving in FL (especially alone) is scary this time of year.
  • Morning. That's great Bay! I hope you guys get everything figured out these next couple of months.

I wish it were Thursday instead of Tuesday. Working 35-40 hours a week is killing me.
  • Hi aleigh!  Welcome to the real world.  :P
  • Good morning, ladies. chels, I just read your AW post. Congrats! You looked lovely! I'm sipping my coffee and contemplating the weather forecast for today...102 BEFORE the heat index is figured in. I think I'll brew a pitcher of iced green tea and stay indoors. Bay, having some space is a good thing. Been there done that...getting out of the forest can sometimes make it easier to see the trees. Mica, safe travels! A new dishwasher is totally worth it, we need one but are trying to hold off until we remodel the kitchen next year.

That's what I wanted too. Didn't happen. Place is mostly clean/organized but still not there yet.

    Good morning all!

Bay, I'm glad you were able to rent the house and I wish you the best in the months to come.

Tonight we're going to see Dark Shadows at the cheapie theater for $1.75! Can't beat that! We're going with my BFF because we have a tradition of seeing any Tim Burton movie together. We kind of love him.
  • Chels - congrats! Where are you going for your honeymoon?

How far ahead did most people book their honeymoons? We arent getting married tIll May so we havent even looked into it one bit.

  • D - we only had a 4 month engagment so we booked within a couple of weeks of getting engaged.  We wanted to go to St. Lucia so there were flights to book and we got married in June so we knew it was a busy time of year so we got started soon.

  • D -- we booked our cruise in like...May?  I think?  Probably about six months out.  Unfortunately it got canceled four months out, and we decided instead to go to Montreal.  Didn't book the hotels, etc. for Stowe VT or Montreal until about two months out.  You're probably fine for now.

  • D - We did ours about a year ahead of time but only because we booked our hotel, flight and rental car through Hotwire and it wound up way cheaper doing it early. It was actually the very day that June 10-17 was available for all of those. I've had friends book theirs that week.

On that note, do not ever get a rental car from Dollar. Ever.
