Irrational Irritations

Re: Irrational Irritations

  • It irritates me that my mom never successfully potty trained her new dog. In fact, she's never 100% succeeded in potty training a dog. And she sees nothing wrong with her dog pooping on her brand new carpet. Ozzie had a recurring UTI for the first 6 months of his life and we still somehow managed to teach him to only potty outside. It's possible, you just have to work at it. I don't like waking up to find that her dog has pooped next to my bed while I was sleeping in the middle of the night. :(
  • I had another co-worker who wore socks, but she was pregnant and I think her feet were really swollen.  And she always put her shoes back on if she left our immediate cubie area.

  • FI works with a guy that reaks of mildew. He thinks his CW puts his clothes in the washer and then forgets about them or something until they're dry. Eww..
  • Ok I completely skipped page 2, so some others might be repeats.

The windshield wipers definitely annoys the crap out of me.  I can't stand the noise they make.  And another annoyance is when someone has them on way to high for the amount its raining, even if its not making a noise.  I have reached over and slowed them down on H several times.

People who crawl through parking lots or around turns.  You can see that its open in front of you.  I understand being cautious, but sometimes too cautious actually causes more accidents.

And my number one irritation right now is how much everyone is flipping out over the minimal snowfall here.  People here can't drive in the snow for anything, but schools are closed today with literally 4 inchese on the ground and 20 degree weather.  Give me a freaking break.

[QUOTE]People who wear entirely too much perfume irritate me.  Can you not comprehend that some of your coworkers may have asthma and/or allergies.  Don't you get that overly fragrant perfume can make it difficult for some people to breathe? Yeah, apparently not.

We waited for them to come back and then confronted them, asking them to move their tent off of our rented space. Guy says, "Oh it's ok. We won't be in your way." It's not ok muthafuckahs. MOVE. So we set their tent on fire. (that's not true)

  • Good. I'm not a confrontational person, so it would be really hard for me not the passive aggressively "retaliate" if they never moved their tent.

When we went to a Chick-Fil-A Grand Opening earlier this year, we took a tent, because that's customary. The employees tell you where to set up, and we had been told to go set up really close to the edge of their lot, which was fine, so we put our tent up, got all comfortable, etc. Then they told someone with a smaller tent to come set up next to us, and these people managed to think so illogically I couldn't even understand it. They had a pole of their tent LITERALLY in our tent, and seemed miffed when we asked them to move it.

We complained to the employees, and they were like, "WTF? Why would they do that?" and made them move their tent.

Did I mention that these people went to Rice University, an Ivy League school?

ETA: I'm stupid, Rice isn't an Ivy school. STRIKE.

  • Kind of re: the tent thing.  We went to this one place by boat a couple times this summer and it's really popular so we went early in the morning one time to get a good place to anchor.  We get there and start to pull in where there's room for two ro three boats and the guy in the next boat over calls over "Oh, those spots are for our friends!" so I said back, "Oh, I'm sorry, did you pay to reserve them or something?" and he said "No" and I said, "Oh great, well we'll scrunch on over when your friends make it here".  The friends didn't get there for 3 more hours and it was only ONE more boat.

I think it's sometimes referred to as one of the "new Ivies" like Stanford, MIT, etc which really just means it's a good school. Apparently they don't teach tent etiquette though.

    Or common sense.

But then again, that can't be taught.
  • People outside of Indiana always mistook Purdue for an Ivy League school. I hated to burst their bubble because I love feeling all smart and stuff, but I'm just like nope! Sorry! State school for me! :)

  •  1.When people don't say "Thank You" or "Thanks" for saying "Bless You!"...

2.When people get on the escalator and just stand there in the middle of the thing. (move over to one side so less lazy people can walk up the escalator)

     3. When young business professionals sit on the train when there's an elderly lady, pregnant lady, or disabled person standing.

     4. A CW of mine says after everything she ever says "You know what I mean?" Half the time, it doesn't even make sense.

     5. I left the candy dish at work out over night by accident and this morning it was empty! Seriously. Rude.

I can't stand rude or arrogant people.

Well, really, if you were less lazy you'd just take the stairs.  Escalators are especially for lazy people who don't want to walk up stairs.

  • Oh, I have another.

There's this girl I know...who is married with children and she's around my age...she just started college recently, which is fantastic, BUT...

She joined a social sorority, and ALL THE TIME on FB she's like, "HANGING OUT WITH MY BIG!!!!!!!" "I <3 GREEK LIFE!!!!"

I didn't do the Greek thing in college, and I don't judge anyone that did, but I can't imagine having 3 kids and managing to fit a sorority in with my schoolwork and job.

    It annoys me.
  • I find that whole situation very odd, Jess, not gonna lie.
