Good Morning!

24

Re: Good Morning!

  • Morning, everyone! I was skimming the thread and came to panther's post. I thought she said, "I love waterboarding!" Reading fail, party of me.

Had a good weekend, but very busy (surprise, surprise). I've taken on a homebound student, so that means an additional 3 hours a week that I have to find to work with her, but the extra money will help pay for gas.

  • And matilda got to meet the panda-cats. That's always a special occassion.
  • Good morning!  I usually come into work just as this thread is dying out.  My sister got married this weekend!  It was a blast but I am exhausted.  Good thing the coffee shop is twenty feet from my office or this could be a long morning.
  • congrats to your sister andress!

Morning! I had a great weekend, the weather was beautiful and of course I got to hang out with some awesome ladies on Saturday night.

I feel like my wedding is about to start taking over my life though, so I apologize in advance if I talk about lots of WR stuff. The latest crisis is that my FMIL is freaking out because I haven't picked out the stamps for RD invitations yet.
  • Good morning!  It's a rainy day here in the MSP.  I'm very excited because today I leave early to meet the Comcast guy.  I can't wait for my internet/tv/TK withdrawal period to be OVER.

  • Yes, I was not shunned by the panda cats. I feel special.

  • Anna, you should tell her you just want the normal American Flag first class stamps and say you're doing it in honor of your current city. :)
  • Yeah, we only got special cute stamps for the wedding invites. Are there special RD stamps I didn't know about?

No, no special stamps. Just regular standard postage (well I think, we haven't picked out the invitations yet because I DON'T CARE) but she wants to know which regular stamps we want. Apparently me not choosing isn't an option.
  • Yeah, I would just say the American Flag stamps.  This is a detail not worth fussing about.

  • you guys can choose fancy stamps?  Mine had whatever corresponded to the amount required.  So Canadian flags, beavers... whatever.

  • Good morning!  There's finally some sunshine, and Cooper wants to spend the whole day outside.  Unfortunately, he thinks it's perfectly fine to dig up our freshly-planted vegetables, so his time outside is limited.  Or, I stand outside with a super soaker.

Anna, my mom discovered Zazzle, and she bought custom stamps for EVERYTHING wedding related.
  • Anna, I think we'll forgive a few WR posts. :-)
  • I can't believe "5 months" is finally in my ticker. Holy crap.

  • habs, is that like "nothing says love like a violin playing goat?" (10 points to whoever names the movie)

special, I really thought you said "freshly painted vegetables". Is it naptime?
  • Rosie, I knew I forgot someone. I can not believe your FI's BP feel through. That is awful. Poor guy. I'd kick his BM in the nads.
  • Notting Hill!!!
  • Yup, I had choices of like 3 stamps for the RD invites. She was really wrapped up in them lol

  • Oh no, what happened with Mr. Rosie's BP? :(

Manda, that's Notting Hill! And if there were something as awesome as goats playing violin on stamps I would choose those.
  • People are crazy with their stamps. I'm too lazy to care. I get whatever comes out of the ATM and call it a day.
  • Birdie gets 10 points! And an honorable mention to Anna!
  • Anna probably knew off the top of her head though. I googled haha
  • FI started freaking out this weekend about the upcoming wedding.  It's like it finally hit him that we're actually getting married.  He said it was something about me having a dress fitting.

BTW, my first dress fitting was an adventure involving a helicopter and off-road driving.  Interesting.
  • Manda, of course it's naptime. You are growing a behbeh, ANYtime is naptime.

And the local newspaper is reporting that it is going to be difficult for my school district to avoid furlough days again next year. Joy. Add that to the 30% increase in insurance premiums, and I'll be making less than I was when I started in this district in 2007.

Exactly. FI is getting really into the stamps too though, except not enough to actually pick them himself. We got a wedding invitation last week and the stamp on the reply card was Ronald Reagan and so now we have to try and get something better (or more random or weird or whatever) than that. I don't get it.

Oh, and I'm not just allowed to pick out RD invitations at Wedding Paper Divas or something because FMIL knows someone with a paper shop, so I have to find something she can buy in the shop. We aren't even having a rehearsal and I tried to just not have an RD because I knew I would get stuck doing stupid stuff like this. Obviously I lost that battle.
