I am pissed at the douchelord TBH. FI's groomsmen gifts came in and he was so excited and then you could almost see it registering on his face that his BM shiit the bed. His other groomsmen is in CA on vacation right now and works two jobs to support his family so he isn't really in a place to plan or take time off. His last groomsmen is my brother who lives in CA.

There is talk of his uncles on his mom's side getting together the thursday night before our wedding and taking him out. They would definitely show him a good time. Plus my brudddder will be home

Good morning! 

I had no idea you could even order stamps.  I'm really lucky that FMIL doesn't care about any details (as of yet) although my mom makes up for it with all of the tiny details she is freaking out about, like decorating flip flops.

My post office lady made sure to get us the wedding decorated stamps for our invitations. She is the bomb diggity. I wouldn't have cared either way though.

Anna, your FMIL needs to calm herself. Is she hosting the RD? Then why doesn't she just pick the invites and the postage to send them with?! My IL's didn't do invites because they figured everyone just knew there'd be a dinner, but I wasn't in the mood to answer a million questions, etc. I had to get them done at the last second - yay.

I want crab cakes now.

Good morning!  I spent my weekend pretending to study for finals.  It's amazing how many other things I can find to do in my apartment when I have to study.  Now it's finals week and then I graduate Friday!

My FI's brother had a super fancy wedding with a super fancy RD and I don't think anyone in their family understands that our wedding isn't going to be like that.

My weekend was okay, H and I finally got out of the damn apartment on Saturday. My whole body is sore. But other than that, I am good.

Looking forward to seeing my Dad next weekend and starting my new job in a few weeks.

Here is the full long butt story:

So from the beginning of our engagement and when FI asked his buddy to be the BM this dude has been all about going crazy for FI's b-party. Strippers vegas.. the whole thing.  So his BM kept scaling down the plans.. first it was vegas.. then it was Atlantic City (closer but still fun) then it was the ocean near us (much closer.. less fun at the beginning of May) and that completely fizzled when FI told him he didn't want strippers. He was told to hold May 7th as his party, and he did. Waited all day to hear from his buddy and never heard a word.

I feel terrible for my FI. He (and I really) don't have many friends and this was his best friend that just kinda shiit on him.

WTH, Rosie?  That's so stupid.  Strippers do not a bachelor party make.  H was very clear from day one that he didn't want strippers at his bachelor party and BIL was good about it.  The guys all played paintball and then went to a bar in MA where the guys got H ingloriously drunk and then sent him home to me (so much fun to deal with later that night). 

I think your FI's BM is a douche for canning a whole party just because your FI asked for no strippers.

Morning! I finally bought cough syrup this morning because I am tired of being sick. I feel fine but just have a cough all day, but then by later at night I'm exhausted and cranky from the effort of all the coughing. Hopefully this will fix me.

We didn't do anything particularly interesting over the weekend, although we did go out to dinner at a fun new place, but I'm excited that I'm taking this Friday off because we're going to a friend's wedding in Buenos Aires!

Welp FI texted his friend Sunday morning to let him know he wouldn't be able to make their Sunday morning jog and the guy didn't say a word about standing him up. I love FI to death, whenever I suggest that maybe he just rescheduled it FI gets all fired up like WE HAVE TOO MUCH TO DO FOR THIS WEDDING NO FREE WEEKENDS GROOMZILLAAA

Friday, H got sworn in to the Missouri bar. Yay!

I took my final on Saturday morning, and yesterday I worked on my seminar paper, and took advantage of the weather by walking to lunch. That was about the extent of my weekend.

Now I need to go read the thread.

I just think its says a lot about his character. I get the whole its not his wedding the world doesn't stop because you are getting married thing, but FI has been such a good friend to him.. and would do absolutely anything for him. It is not like FI wanted some big thing, he even suggested last weekend when he was talking to the BM that he (FI) hadn't been to an Orioles game recently and that would be a fun Saturday if the BM didn't have anything in mind.

Rosie, you're right that the world doesn't stop for your wedding plans. This has nothing to do with that. Making plans with someone then not following through, not even saying "hey, about that..." is a sucky thing to do. End of story.
