    Ahh, very interesting. There's work happening on sexual offenders, particularly child sex offenders, that I hear about at the conferences I attend. Maybe you'll get a chance to look into this further after you finish your masters? What do you intend to do afterwards?

    It's interesting that you're doing a social work masters with a non-social-work bachelors! What made you pick SW?
  • After I graduate I either want to do sex offender treatment, or be a victim advocate.  I'd really like to be a victim advocate but the job opportunities for that around here aren't really plentiful.  There are a lot more opportunities in SO treatment.

    When I initially went to school, I discounted SW because I thought all they did was work with disfunctional families and such.  I didn't realize I could do therapy and how many opportunities I could have with a degree in SW.  Basically, I can get licensed to do therapy individually and be billable (through insurance) with about half the schooling with my MSW than with a psych degree.  I'm more interested in clinical work than research, so I don't really want to get my PhD in psych.
