Monday Morning

Re: Monday Morning

  • Good morning, it's a cloudy Monday which makes me want to crawl back in bed with a book.
  • Morning guys!  I'm back!  (I know you all have been missing me like Woah!)

We had a marathon trip yesterday to get back from mexico, but the 4 extra stops in the trip were so worth the 4 extra days there.  But we got home at 2am and I was at work for 8 this morning.  I so don't want to work.

    TODAY IS KITTEN DAY!

  • Morning everyone.

LTB, I work out either before work (rarely or as a backup) or after work but before dinner.  It's not right after work, so I have about 2 hours after work to do things (I have a scheduled swim practice), but at the same time, H and I aren't usually eating dinner till about 9 pm.  We're used to it, but it's kind of weird at first.

Habs, I hope you're posting pictures when you get the kitty!

I'll add my name to the list of folks who didn't sleep well- I hurt my back yesterday and every time I rolled over, the pain woke me up.  Swim practice tonight is going to be interesting to say the least.

  • Morning!

I thought I was getting sick on Friday so I took it easy all weekend and I think it worked because I feel fine today. Now I just have to make it through my first 5 day work week in forever.

And Aleigh, with things like this I find it helps to just keep calling back (to insurance, collections, whoever you're dealing with). There have been plenty of times when I get someone completely unhelpful on the first try but if I just keep calling back eventually I'll talk to someone who knows what they're doing and wants to help me.
  • Morning! P&R because I'm leaving for work.
  • Cfas, it's from my honeymoon. It was at the Torre de Belem in Lisbon.
  • I missed you Habs-

    Good morning all!

I workout right after work around 2:30-3:00 I am at work at 5:30 I don't know if I can get up any earlier than that.

I went to the Bridal Expo this weekend in Seattle and had massive bridal overload and was exhausted when it was time to go home. That was when my mom decided I needed to try on dresses... bleh.

Then we went shopping then when I got home at 5 FI decides to tell me his parents are coming over in an hour... to our messy house. X.X

But yesterday was much more relaxing and I got new shoes :D

  • Good morning!  I had what feels like my millionth follow up with my eye doctor this morning.  I still have to go back next Monday to get dilated again.  Eff.  We did our long run yesterday, and I wore crappy shorts that rode up.  Holymotherofgodthechaffing.  I'm surprised a fire didn't start between my thighs yesterday.  I almost cried in the shower when the water hit the raw spots.  Luckily my mom had some stuff for me to put on my legs, otherwise I might have died.  I vehemently threw those shorts in the trash.

  • Adamar, get some spandex! I don't care that I like like a weird 80's freak wearing my spandex shorts at the gym, I think they are so much more comfortable. Nothing to ride up and chafe.
  • Anna, I just bought some leggings and they were super comfy.  It was too hot for them yesterday though.  I also ordered some Brooks shorts, so I'm hoping that since they're made for running they won't ride up.  I'm definitely testing them out at the track, though, so I can stop if they do ride up.  I've also considered bike shorts, I just need to go find some.

  • Welcome back Habs!

LTB I would say working out before dinner is beneficial because you are really supposed to consume protein within an hour of training.  Before breakfast would work to but I find it takes a lot getting used to waking up and not eating anything and working out.  I do it maybe twice a week though, when I'm doubling.

Maybe Mica could clarify this for me: I've heard two schools of thought, which do you think is right? 1. Not eating breakfast in the morning actually can make you gain weight, your body starts to store fat.  2.  Running/working out in the morning before eating contributes to fat burning.

I have the feeling both are correct, am I right? It'd just be nice to know because I want to not be needlessly contributing to fat storage.

This was a long post. Whoops.

  • Megbo, I think eating breakfast in the morning jump starts your metabolism, which helps burn fat. Working out does the same thing.
  • Thanks Meg.  I'm not sure those are long enough to cover where my thighs rub together Embarassed  I really need to start riding horses again.

  • Adamar -

I had these shorts for when I was doing more long distance running.  They were my favorites.  I also used them for kickboxing and they worked really well for that.

</div><div>Adamar my thighs are floffing huge.  That area you speak of is my problem area.  Let's just say I still rock the ish out of those shorts.  They also have longer ones, too. Like <a href="http://www.6pm.com/product/7590198/color/127105" rel="nofollow">THESE</a> but they are a little thinner. </div></div>
  • Adamar - I hear ya on the riding thing!  Ugh.  I did some running Cozumel while we were there, and it was damn hot out.  I ran in Lulu lemon 3/4 pants.  They worked great and they weren't too hot.  Lulu also makes knee length which would work.

So did I miss any big news around here, other than that Fezzer-la is having a boy!  YAY fuzzbutt boy!

  • Morning everyone!

Its week 2 (and the final week) of 10 hour workdays for me, thank goodness.  I may or may not be fighting off a flu that one of the event participants had last week.  Fingers crossed that I either get it and get over it or fight it off soon.  Illnesses like to fight my immune system tooth and nail.  I don't 'get sick' I just feel crappy for a week and a half, but not so bad that I need to take a day off.  Which I think is worse than getting a full fledged illness.  Except for stomach bugs.  I'd rather have a cold for a month than a 24 hour stomach bug.

Anna, your new sig pic is so cute!!
  • Hi!  I am taking off Friday so I just started another 4 day work week. I can handle this :).

I was able to get up and work out in the mornings when I had an upcoming wedding for motivation.  Now that I'm married, nothing gets me out of bed early enough, so I do it after work.
  • Morning!  I am getting ready to start a split pea soup in my crockpot.  It will be nice for dinner since it is rainy.  We just started e-mealz. Does any one else use it?

About the chaffing issue: Sometimes just rubbing a little vaseoline between your legs will help.  Gross but effective!

  • We managed to get up and run before work a handful of times, but I prefer working out after work, before dinner.  I like my sleep too much.  Although I guess now it's going to be after school, before dinner.

I've used a product called Body Glide before (for my 3 day walk last year).  It was awesome.

  • Loopy your new avatar and sig really confused me!

I've never had chafing problems...what are they caused by? Dry skin? Because my thighs definitely touch, and I've never seen it.
  • I had the WORST chaffing issues after my wedding. My BM offered to let me use some stuff and I turned it down for some reason. My thighs were actually bruised the next day.
