  • I've never had chaffing issues before, and holy hell I never want to experience it again.

  • I've only had chafing issues when I was at the beach. I thought it was because the salt on my skin irritated it. Why the chafing on the wedding day? Were your dresses really hot?

[QUOTE]I used to get chaffing between my legs when doing long distances.  That has completely stopped, no matter what shorts I wear (long/short; spandex/regular running shorts).  I sometimes get a hot spot under my boob if the band of my bra isn't laying correctly during marathons.  I didn't get that on Saturday, which I am happy about.

<div>holy crap this reminds me of a bra I had from under armor that had a weird little seam in between my boobs.  One hot day after a workout during preseason for cross I had a huge blister right there.  Needless to say I threw that bra out immediately. </div>
  • *passes out at mental image of a boobie blister*  That would suck hard time.

  • I just have fat thighs and wasn't wearing panty hose. My dress was hot, so I thought I'd sweat and create lubrication (this sounds gross) but that didn't work.

  • Morning ladies.

It was a tough night/morning here at Casa Lyndausvi.    Chef-D peed on our bed last night (never did that before)  I'm so pissed at DH because I put him in his crate but was barking so much DH took him out and put him on the bed.   It seems that he is fine in the crate while we are not at home, but he now hates it when we are at home.  Anyway, he woke me up and as I was getting up he just peeded.  WTF?

Then if that was not bad enough he ended up taking a nap with me this morning.  We both woke up and I went to put on some pants to take him out and  he peed on the couch.   Ugh.  Again first time ever he has done that.   He knows how to get off the couch, why he didn't get off and find his pee pad is beyond me.  Again this is my fault because I could have just taken him right away but decided because it was 8:30 I should put on a bra and  pants instead of my sweatpants like I wear at 6am.

I feel like such a bad mama.  I'm also pissed at DH.  He sleeps through everything.  He has ZERO maternal instincts once he falls asleep.  Other than hearing  him bark in the crate he didn't move until 8:40am.  I do not get how  he can be programmed not to get up to check on Chef-D for 9 hours and I wake up every few hours to make sure he is okay.

Sorry for the long rant.    I was looking for a nice 2 days off and starting off steam cleaning my sofa and bed and hearing a barking dog was not exactly how I imagined it would be.

  • lynda, if he keeps doing it I would get Chef checked for a UTI. Ozzie had a raging UTI when we brought him home and it took a couple rounds of antiobiotics to kick it. One of the symptoms was him peeing on stuff he knew better to pee on (like the couch and bed). They drink a ton to try to clear stuff out and then lose some bladder control with the infection. I remember one time Ozzie was peeing and didn't even realize it. Poor guy.

But yeah, that's my advice, especially if you think Chef knows better. And take him out more. :)
  • Btw Chrissy, I <3 Bannister.  And everything about your sig.
  • Good Morning.

It's pretty nasty here right now. It's raining like crazy. There was a tornado warning earlier. I think the weather lady likes to scare me.

  • CHRISSY. I have that quote on my board at work, so that I don't leave work and wimp out on going to work out. I also love your sig picture.

<div>This happened to my cat.  He was peeing on everything. It was very out of character for him. We took him to the vet and he had a UTI. It is dangerous for cats so we are lucky he is okay. Antibiotics helped it out. </div><div>
</div><div>No more random peeing either! </div>

  • LTB, I switch my blog to Wordpress, so I can't help you there. I'd assume Google has some help on the switch though, so maybe look for that?

Lynda, I don't think the dog needs to be checked on in the night. He's little, so he probably shouldn't be crated for 9 hours yet, but just take him out right before bed and as soon as you get up, and in between get a full night's sleep for yourself. And tell your H that if he rewards Chef-D for barking by letting him out of the crate, he's just going to keep doing it.
  • Thanks for the advice.  I will keep an eye on him to see how he does today.

He finally stopped barking.  The boy just does not like being in the there if I'm at home.   I actually put him 2 rooms away so he can't hear me.

Good news is DH and I have had a disagreement on his potty training.  His way was not working, so it's time for my way.

  • Morning, everyone. My whole body hurts after the third night on the sofa bed. It's awful.

H was supposed to be done with the new floors in the bedroom by Saturday night. Instead, he hasn't even opened them yet. He's been sidetracked with projects he can't do while there's furniture or nice flooring in there.

So far, he's levelled the floor, repaired the drywall, repainted the room, painted the ceiling, built something to make the ceiling fan look less stupid, painted and prepared new trim and is going to fix some electrical problems tonight.

I'm grateful, since it will look fantastic when he is (finally) done. I just don't know when it will be done, since he's working in Indianapolis most of this week.
  • The UTI definitely didn't help Oz's potty training.  We had to get that fixed before he could even learn how to go outside.

Bells on the door ended up helping a lot because it taught him he needed to make a sound when he needed to go out. He now drives us crazy asking to go out all of the time because he wants to play, but that's better than accidents. :)
  • They overuse that quote at my work.  They really like to take a good thing and beat it to death here.  It's very motivational.

crfb - your new sig picture is adorable.

And my legs would sometime chafe on long runs, I always assumed it was because I have "thunder thighs".  Very, Very solid girl.

Luckily, that is what happened to me.  I can chaffe pretty bad sometimes, but I didnt' have a problem the day of the wedding.

After taking some pictures outside (prior to the ceremony) we came back in and I told my wedding planner "My crotch is hot."  She just laughed, and said that I was the first bride to ever say it out loud to her.
  • Emily -   He is only 9 weeks and nothing I've read says that he is able to hold his bladder all night yet.  Most things I read say take his month age and add a month.  So that is only 3-4 hours.  He is not consistent on telling us he needs to go that I end up waking up every few hours worried he has done something like peeing on the bed.  So far he has made it 6 hours once, but on average it's about 4 hours.

  • Chrissy, that is a huge medal.  I love medals.  And trophies.  And free tee shirts.  I'm such a sell out.  I'll do anything, run any race, just to get swag.

Also? One of the main reasons I'm doing Boston (in like 6 years) is so I can get that damn jacket.  So many people around here have it and I want everyone to know "I QUALIFIED AND RAN BOSTON" First to, qualify. Then, to actually run the damn thing.

So, when I have a job and money, hit me up when you go on a little running trip IFANDONLYIF there is free stuff for me or possible prizes. Teehee

<div>He can't pee on the bed if he's in a crate though. I've never crated a dog, so I don't know how puppy housebreaking works with that, but if you've been told to go 4 hours max then wake up after 4 hours, let him out to pee, then put him back in his crate. One scheduled wake-up a night still sounds killer to me (reason 23909076 we don't have a baby yet), but it sounds better than the panicked "oh god, the dog!" every few hours wake-ups it sounds like you're having now.</div>
  • Lynda, if it continues to happen, I'd definitely look into the UTI thing.  April started randomly peeing (hadn't ever done it before).  $60 later I found out she DIDN'T have an infection, but at least I felt better for checking.

If he can't hold his pee that long, can you or your husband get up and take him out every 4-6 hours?  To reinforce that "Hey, you pee outside!" thing.

April is amazing now.  We take her out about 10-11pm, and this weekend, she didn't even come bother us by 9:30am.  I had to get her up to take her on a walk.  It does get better!!! (She's almost 3, fyi.)
  • I just found out one of friends qualified for Boston next year.  I think what I'm most excited about for our race next month is the free shirt.  Well that and the beer afterwards.

  • I watched Boston last year when my friend was running it.  She BQ'd this year, too, but is hurt.

It was a great atmosphere!  I was getting misty-eyed just watching everyone.  We got there in time to see the elite guys go by.

I don't know what we get free at my half in Feb (other than a medal), but I'm super psyched to run through Disney World!

<div>DING, DING, DING.... This the exact reason DH and I are arguing.   I want him in the crate, teach him to hold it, wake up at a set time, let him pee, go back to bed.   Chef D does not like being in the crate when we are at home.  DH is a softy and take him out, puts him on the bed just to get him to stop barking <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-yell.gif" border="0" alt="Yell" title="Yell" />.(which is an issue in itself).  Then the baster goes back to sleep like a rock and never gets up to see if it's time to pee.   In the mean time I'm the one who never sleeps well because I'm waking up every few hours to 'check' on the dog. Oh and Chef D is more likely to wake me if he does have to pee.  Chef D will lick DH forever and DH never budges, so basically Chef D thinks he is ignoring him.  </div><div>
    </div><div>God I'm cranky today.</div>
