Re: Baby names

• Tlv - I know a little girl with the name Eden Raine. I love it.

• Atticus - DH just found out his b/f and wife are considering that if they have a boy.

I'm slow tonight so these'll keep coming at you one-by-one.
• Sucrets: I am supposed to inform you that my FI says you are not supposed to be putting this topic in my head for at least another year and 9 days.
• My favorite name for girl is Ashby

boy, Brady or Max (Maxmilian)

• Names we can't use:

Andrew
Alexander
Kira
Emily
Liam
Brianna
Callie
Talen

(all related to me...I know I *could* use them, but I don't really want to double names...although I loved Kira and Emily. Fuckers.)

• Sucrets I feel your pain about the teacher thing. WAY bigger percentage of names ruined by association than normal people.

Mocha I have the same problem! I'm on top of girls' names.

As far as Dionysus, I mean that would suck, but Denise is a variation. My mom's name is Denise and she is very proud of being the "goddess of wine" apparently. People call her Denny but I also like Neesy :)

mags, you're saying this to someone who has a: romasia, braeshea, and sabreann in her classes. No worries.

Posted by RachNRich[/QUOTE]

That's no good. I hate pain killers. I used to have to take them regularly and I always had a fear of becoming addicted. Right now I'm supposed to be taking 500-1,000 mg every 4-6 hours and I've only been taking it once a day, but I'm still about to run out. This makes me very sad.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

• Do you like classic names? Popular names? Trendy names (not likely)?

With a common, one-syllable last time, the "rules" of naming say that a 2 or 3 syllable name will sound best. And I say you should pick something a bit more uncommon so the baby can google him or herself one day and not come up with 1,235,432 hits. I have literally met 3 Robert Smiths. Not including the dude from the Cure, whom I have never met.

Some of my favorite names:

Amelia
Sienna
Regan
Tamsin
Magdalena
Madeleine

Ethan (really popular though)
Tristan (ditto)
Andrew
Ian
Jesse
Micah

I don't really like last names as first names, like Madison, Jackson, Beckett, etc.

• I love the name Aaron, but that's an ex's name. Damn exes. I like Natalie too. Honestly, I love Ainsley and Alison in theory, but I hate the nickname Ali. Sorry to any Ali's out there - it's not personal, I don't really like nicknames to begin with.

Here are more ideas:
Seth, Blake, Michaela, Brett, Tanner, Morgan, Aubrey/Audrey, Connor, Maren, Kara, Holly, Drew, Adam.

I went to SUNY Potsdam for a semester. I wasn't a fan so I moved back here and changed my major. And I used to swim against Pal-Schmack :) Small world. You'll have to come up and visit sometime.

Eh, most of the conference is inside. The only thing that sucks is the walk to the Hyatt b/c it's over the river and fucking cold. But that's where the good bar is, lol.

I went to Crane, and loved it. I love the winters up there, too.

I'd love to come and visit, but it's far from Arkansas. :(

• romasia = rome + asia???

My one request: no excessive apostrophes or apostrophes in place of accents. Your baby won't be a real person if they have these :p
• I have some percocet left over because I'm down to Darvon now. I have probably some of everything here, I could make a killing in Central Park dealing,

Being such a straight arrow really sucks sometimes
• I have cousins named Caleb Michael and Caroline Lily. I love their names. My friend and her husband are discussing Celia and Ethan.

I'll also take the opportunity to throw Paisley and Clover out there :) And Brooke, of course.

A friend in high school was named Alisha so she named her daughter A'isha. Baby's daddy always got so pissed at me because I could never figure out how the hell to pronounce that correctly. It was definitely not how it should have been pronounced.
• I didn't read everyone else's posts, so please forgive me if I have repeated a name:

I'm a teacher too, so if I do have a child, I think I'd like to try and use a name that I've never come across in one of my students.

Here are my ideas: Laurel, Sage, Hyacinth, and Violet are some kind of unique, but not too strange names.

For boys: Jeremiah or Bernard. I know not really good. I'm not too fond of boys' names.

mery - when was that? I was at Crane from 1996-2000.

I'm from LI but adored the winter there. I love the dry cold - it's soooo much better than damp cold. It only sucks when you're waiting outside to get into a bar.

• I did have a bunch of friends that went to Crane, but no I was there for Forensic Sciences. ANT 101 killed it for me because the professor did nothing but show us videos of monkeys screwing the entire semester. I came back to Rochester and went to a Massage Therapy School and then got a business degree.

The worst part about Potsdam for me was that they didn't plow the sidewalks on campus until about 10:00 in the morning and I had an 8:00 and 9:00 class. Trudging through the snow on crutches sucked!

Syracuse, huh?

Mariah is a pretty name too, but I associate it w/ Mariah Carey. Doh.
