Irritations (rational/irrational)

Irrational - why does T-Mobile have to text me to let me know my bill is due on the 12th? I know when my bill is due. I've never paid it late. I don't need a text. It reminds me of my Honors Lit teacher my Junior year of HS. Our first paper was assigned to us on Monday and due in a week and a half. Just a few days later he gave us this huge lecture about how it was rediculous that NO ONE had turned it in yet. We were all irresponsible and not going to make it in college because we didn't turn it in a week early. I seriously disliked that man.

Rational - I was at BK earlier getting some sweet potato fries. It took way longer than it should have and the manager (who was the one taking orders as well) apologized and said that he was short staffed. Okay, NBD. So as I'm eating, I hear this woman say loudly "EXCUSE ME! I need to place an order over here!" I didn't hear what the manager said in response but she snapped back at him "Well ya'll need to be taking orders over here as well. I need to order too." She was probably waiting there for five minutes at the most - and her tone of voice was just so snotty and rude. Seriously lady? You can see the poor man is running around like a chicken with his head cut off and you're going to be a total biiiitch? If it's THAT bad then you can just leave and go to one of the probably 6 other fast food places around.

Your turn : )

Re: Irritations (rational/irrational)

  • I hate when people are rude to food workers. One of my biggest irritations.

I am irritated that it is Monday. I am irritated it's only 10:30. I am irritated I am not asleep.

I am irritated I have to work at all. I thought that was what husbands were for. I got screwed.

I am just generally irritated today. I'm hungry.
  • I'm irrationally irritated that it is raining here and I can not lay by the pool.  We haven't had rain in weeks so this is really selfish.

I'm rationally irritated that FI has off today and then asked me to go pick up three small things from the grocery store after work.  It would take me 5 minutes, but why can't he do it himself?

  • Mine is totally rational.  Just overheard a coworker telling someone that he's started starving a bunch of his fish because he's got too many.  When I WTH'd him, he rolled his eyes at me and said "They're just fish.".  Asshole.

  • Poke, I hate that crap. I was in line at Panera one Sunday morning (it was SLAMMED) and this woman started freaking out at the counter because the last pumpkin pasty had been sold over the phone before she got up front. When I say freak out, I mean FREAK.OUT. Screaming that they had terrible customer service, and they shouldn't sell things over the phone while people are in line, and how their slowness was causing the giant line, blah blah blah. Finally, I just yelled out "Well, you know the rest of us wouldn't have to stand here this long if you would just shut up, pick something else, and get out of the way." She was livid. Ha.
  • Oh, as for my current irritation? It's suuuuper windy outside, and none of our channels are coming in clearly. Not sure why, as we have CABLE, but it happens when the wind picks up like this, so that's the only reason I can find.
  • I'm irritated at everything in the fucking world.

  • Great response Snippy.

Girlie's reminded me that a CW was talking about how if she and her H were able to sell their house before finding a new one, her mom would let them move into the basement. Okay, great. The rational irritation that comes from that story is that her mother would put the cat that resides mainly in the basement to sleep because of this and the CW was perfectly fine with it. There is nothing wrong with the cat. :(

  • I'm irritated that my SIL is having her baby and I'm stuck at work.  I mean, I don't want to trade places with her or anything, I just want to be up there and know what's going on.  But really I'm too excited for them to be irritated.  She had a few miscarriages trying to get pregnant, and I'm so happy it's finally happening for them!

<div>I wanted to tell her to go somewhere else so that her piercing voice didn't intrude on my sweet potato-ey heaven. But I didn't have the balls. Had I been in line I may have said something.</div><div>
</div><div>When I was picking up my wedding cupcakes this woman was picking up a baby shower cake that had some cute whimsical design. She sent the cake back into the back because the fondant lines weren't perfectly straight. I gave her a "You've got to be kidding me" look and she says "I paid <u style="font-weight:bold;font-style:italic;">$60</u> for that cake. It should be perfect!" to which I replied "Maybe you shouldn't have chosen a whimsical design." </div>
  • I'm irritated by the way hooters bride treats her FIs family. The shower my MIL hosted for her was yesterday, and the bride could not have been more disrespectful. If someone throws you a party, you should appreciate it, not complain about every little detail in front of everyone there. Irrationally irritated by my cat because she won't snuggle with me.
  • I am irritated that everything I have to eat in my house in an incomplete meal. I was going to just eat a lunch of assorted crap, but I decided to just order Chinese.

I am irritated that we received the baby's mobile as a gift  in the mail, which I'm very grateful for, but I'm upset because the music box doesn't work right. Why can't manufacturers just make thing correctly?
  • Couples who share a facebook account are the lamest of the lame, like Billandstacy Johnson.  *eyeroll* It always seems to be just the wife who uses it anyway.
  • I'm irritated that I don't live in Telluride.
  • Holy hell Midge - that's horrible!  People really piss me off sometimes.

  • I'd like to think that this is rational. One of my shift supervisors texted me about an hour ago asking if I could stay an extra couple of hours tomorrow since he has a doctor's appointment. The man is old enough to be my grandfather and he uses more txt speak than anyone else I know. I'm okay with abbreivations like "lol" and "idk" but for some reason I hate it when people put numbers in the middle of a sentence instead of typing out "to" or "b4" instead of "before". It doesn't really save any time, it just makes you look like an idiot.

  • Midge - I would have to say something about that. Like, fine, you don't care about your cat at all and you're a terrible person. At least be slightly less of an asshole and find the cat a new place to live. Jerks.

Adamar - At least you have something to look forward to after work. Babies are so adorable.
  • I am rationally in love with Leisel's new sig picture. Holy gorgeous batman!
  • I'm not really irritated at the moment, which is unusual, haha.

Girlie, that's absolutely horrible. How cruel. In college, a friend of mine brought her gerbil back after Christmas break and then decided she didn't feel like caring for it, so she was going to let it go. It was January and like, 10 degrees. I ended up taking him from her because I couldn't stand the thought of the poor little guy freezing to death or trying to fend for himself.

  • Midge, that is awful.
  • I'm irritated that my schedule changed at work.  I now come in 20 minutes later and leave 20 minutes earlier.  It's really no big deal, but I'm still annoyed because I used to get home by 4.  Meh.

Midge and Girlie - those are terrible people.

  • I know, right? My mom was there too and she's close friends with the mother. She already plans on talking to her about how that is an unacceptable solution.
  • Well now I'm irritated I can't Leisel's pro pic site to load.  :)

  • OH.  I am very rationally annoyed that my mom's neighbor (who is great and clean and keeps the property looking nice) is getting kicked out so the property owners trashy relatives can move in.  Rumor is that they're the same people I stole one of my dogs from years ago.  If they're the same people you can bet your ass I will be watching them like a hawk, with the number for animal services on speed dial.
