Rach, why do they need to leave early for the chance of rain? Why can't they wait until there's actually rain? I don't know anything about roofing, but that seems silly. Is there some sort of danger either to them or the roof to continue to work until the rain starts to fall?

Mine is the exact opposite.  I am rationally irritated because I am sitting at work with absolutely nothing to do.  I need this program to take off and soon; I really can not sit around doing nothing except worrying that I'll get laid off when they kill this program because of under performance.

  • It's near impossible to rehome an adult cat. At least their euthing the cat and not dumping it at a shelter. It's still carppy, though.

I'm irritated at the sups at work.

And, that I have a doctors appt tomorrow. I don't want to come in to work late.

<div>I would think it's because they're afraid the roof will become too slippery before they can get a chance to get off of it. Sometimes before it rains it sprinkles a bit before, but sometimes it just comes down. </div>

  • I get incredibly irritated at people who block crosswalks with their cars. The damn line before the crosswalk is where you're supposed to stop, not inside the crosswalk. This is even more annoying when it's a no turn on red spot because it's not like they're even trying to see down the street so they can turn.

I swear there are times when I wish I had some sort of sharp metal ring so i could scratch these cars as I walk by, putting myself into traffic since they're where I am supposed to be walking. I'd never actually do that, but it sounds satisfying pretty often.

  • I am irritated at telemarketers that call my house at 8:30 on a Sunday morning!  What the hell!

After telling this lady that I don't appreciate being called so early on a Sunday morning and to take me off her list and to never call back again, she had the balls to call me again about 6 hours later!  She use the same "Hi, is Sherry there?" line to "bait" me in which never works.  I tell her that no one named Sherry lives here and that if her next question is "Oh, are you the head of household?" then she is absolutely correct and as such it is my duty to tell her to stop freaking calling here.  I then proceeded to yell at her for about 5 minutes.

I have decided that if she calls back again I will answer her first question with "Yes, this is Sherry who is this?" and really fluck with her mind.

<div>I completely and totally disagree with this. Yes, people prefer kittens over all, but there are so many programs out there that will take an adult cat. Killing your cat because someone wants to move into your basement is horrible. </div>

I'm irritated that my aunt sent out a FB invitation for my cousin's grad party. She just sent them out last night, and the party is this Saturday. This is what she posted on the event page: Keeping it super simple. Maybe some chips.

Like, really? She always tries to guilt people into bringing food to stuff. Her son's wedding was a potluck, and they kept all the leftovers to bring on a camping trip they were leaving for the next day and told everyone they would return the dishes when they got back.

Because humane euthanasia is kinder than mass gassing or heartstick after sitting in the shelter for a 2 or 3 day hold period, IMO.

If I had to place my cats and it came down to county shelter or euth them, I'd euth them in a heart beat. It would be terrible and I'd have regrets for years, but it would be a kind end that I knew what happened vs an unknown end.

    Posted by djhar[/QUOTE]

    I've always adopted adults.

My home county euths about 20 cats a day. Mass gassing, cats and dogs together.

it's not a good situation for cats.

  • After Steffi's two posts, my face is stuck like this ----> Surprised
  • Um, I've known several adult cats that have been re-homed and been just fine after a period of adjustment.  My grandfather died a month ago.  He had a 9-year-old cat that had never lived with any other humans or animals.  My cousin took him, she lives alone except for her young cat (under a year old).  It took them about five days, but the two cats are BFFs now.

One example, and I know there are more.

Yes, it is difficult to rehome an adult cat but I don't think euthanizing the cat is a better option.  I side eye anyone who is willing to rehome or euthanize a pet for such silly reasons but I would think giving the cat a chance to find a new home would be the better option.  The shelter isn't the only option, there is foster care, other family members, really anything to show you realize that you understand you are responsible for that animal and it's life means something.

  • Rachers - I would totally be pissed if they left their tools on the roof. I can understand not wanting to be on the roof if it rains, but there is no reason to leave their tools where they can cause damage to your property.

There are month long wait lists at the no kills, if you can get in.

Most county shelters in the south are kill shelters. Cats are in an over abundance. Sad fact of life.
