- the parents who gave their time share to their 22 year old son and his 8 frat brother friends. The frat boys had a fight with other frat boys at the resort. Really, this is not Daytona Beach. The timeshares run $200k for 3 weeks and over $10k ia year in maintenance fees. Said frat boys came out on the boat (cost $900) and then at ate the one of the most expensive restuarants in St John (average entree is over $30), after the bar closed the asked for more beer (which we gave them) and they did not tip us. Ugh..
now you
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

I have one of these too, except it's not a coworker, it's someone I went to school with.

That is how I feel when I shop in the states for certain things. Here we have a few options on say shampoo. It's easy for me to pick. When I go to the states there is a 100 foot long 3 shelf high row of just shampoo and then another one for conditioner. I'm so confused and intimidated.
I bitch a lot about our lack of options, but sometimes I think it's a blessing.

Well kid could have ADHD, my daughter(5) drinks black coffee in the morning on the suggestion of her psychiatrist and neurologist. It has less side effects then the medication and makes her able to learn and eat.
My miserly old mail man. A truck was blocking our driveway the other day, so FI had to park right behind me. I admit, it was somewhat close to the mailbox. However, Mr. Mailman, you obviously could get to my mailbox. Because, you left a note refusing to deliver our mail IN the mailbox. Couldn't you have just put the mail in there at the same time?

I don't know why, but this is extremely funny to me.
There was a woman on the bump who was talking about being in the WIC program (which is a form of government assistance providing food to pregnant women and very young kids). But she has this siggy picture where she's in a *super* fancy house that I would kill to live in, she doesn't work, and has time to write a cooking blog. Now I don't know the specifics of her situation, but the whole thing brings out my judginess.
I judge our new neighbours, who moved in yesterday, and blocked our (and 2 of our other neighbours) driveway entirely with their 4 U-hauls. Really, probably not a big deal had you come and knocked on our door. But it's a PITA to have to go and find someone you don't know amidst the 40 person moving party to move the darn truck just so I can get out of my own driveway. Not a good start new neighbour, not a good start.

Oh, we had one of those yesterday. They were only blocking my neighbor's driveway (and the only errands I ran yesterday were within walking distance) but it really is the principle.

Yeah, I get judgey without knowing the specifics too. It's kinda hard not to.
I also judge my friend for eating the tortillas I was going to use later in the week without asking (normally I'd say yes, because normally I wouldn't have plans for them - now I need to buy more), and for leaving her plate on the coffee table overnight. Seriously, I do all the cleaning in the house. Except dishes. But now since my dishwasher is on a business trip I'm doing those too. Help me out a little, here. You aren't in 8th grade, either.

I swear to god I'm not building a rainforest in my apartment. The problem is with your water meter, water company. FIX IT.
EDIT: I guess that's not a judge, but more of a vent. Oops..
I judge my HOA for attempting to raise our dues instead of collecting from people that aren't paying. And for their sucky way of managing our condos. I just judge them completely. I'm NOT paying more because you don't know how to do your job.
Posted by AlexiaANDRobert
While I do not mind our HOA... I'm really annoyed at those who owe. One condo owes $200k. because of that and others we have to pay an additional $6k this year. I'm so pissed, but there is nothing we really can do. We (the HOA) have sued the condo owner, but the way the courts work it will be a while before we see the money, in the mean time the HOA still owes the money to the contractor.
Lauren - did I miss the story about your brother? Is it interesting? Didn't he work on a boat with your dad?
Posted by msmerymac
Nah, you didn't miss anything. I never posted about it. Yes, he did work on a boat with my dad. My dad's the captain and my brother was a deckhand. He failed a random drug test (for pot, not that it matters.) Stupid, stupid, stupid.

He failed the random..What a stupid way to lose a job. The Coast Guard does not mess around with that, or at least not down here. I've been called 3 times in 6 months. I ,of course, pass

Yeah that's what pisses me off so bad about it Lynda. He knew the risks and didn't take it seriously. But the Coast Guard doesn't really monitor deckhands the way they do captains. My brother called the Coast Guard after he was fired and asked if there was anything specific he'd have to do to get a job in the industry again, and they told him no, that it would be up to his future employers' discretion. If it had been my dad, on the otherhand, he'd be out a job and wouldn't have any way to get another. When you're a captain, they certainly don't mess around.
