Morning!

I AM MAKING THE MORNING THREAD TODAY. Hot diggity dog.

Sup ladies? I am debating my breakfast options. I had an intense workout last night and I am trying to keep the healthy living going on with breakfast, but I am so weak when it comes to food.

Anything good going on today? I have to go to the post office during my lunch to do the paperwork to get my name changed on my passport for our trip to ITALY.

Re: Morning!

  • Morning. We're supposed to be getting a lot of rain today. I love thunderstorms.

So I went to the doc about my pinky yesterday, and wrist since the pain has spread. He thinks it's either injury to the lingaments/tendons due to overuse, or early signs of rheumatoid (sp?) arthritis. Yay. He said to stop typing for 2 weeks (Uh, that's kind of my job), ice it daily and take Aleve, and see if it gets better, otherwise I should get tested for arthritis since I have so much pain in all fingers and both hands. I'm going to talk to the boss to see what we can do.
  • Good Morning ladies,

Sesh, I hope your hand gets better soon, and it's not RA, that is so painful!

I'm just getting my girls ready for school, then to get in the shower and get myself ready - yay for not having to be in til 10:30 but it's the suck that I have to work until 7p.

    Have a great day!
  • Morning Ladies,

Go Rosie!  Eating correctly/healthy is my biggest downfall.
Mica, I am coming your way (kinda) tomorrow
Sesh, that stinks, you work on a keyboard for a living.  Crappers,

Today is my Friday, after today 5 days in the Sunshine state.  I so need some warm weather.  FI got called to work last night at 11 pm and will end up working 16 hours straight.  Ugh, Stupid wind and cold.  Upside - I got the entire bed to myself, aaah stretch.
  • Ski where are you going in FL? The weather has been nice lately, but a little chilly. But, I'm in North FL so we're usually colder.
  • Morning all! I am in and out at the moment. But I hope you all have a good day.
  • Seshat, I wonder if you could get Dragon for your work so you could reduce your typing.  I really really hope you don't have RA.
  • Sesh, Ft Myers Beach.  A little bit business and a little bit pleasure.  FI has an old bpat he is restoring and the gentleman doing it is in North Ft Myers.  We are bring the boat back up to Western NY in March so this may be my last trip to Ft Myers for a while.

Love some of the restaurants in that area.
  • Ski, Fort Myers is a nice area. I like it down there. And it should definitely be warmer than Jax!

Mica, what's Dragon? Is that the thing where you talk and the computer types what you say? I've been thinking about getting that for home, but I couldn't use it for work.
  • Good morning, fantastic ladies!

Sesh, I REALLY hope it's not RA. Are you going to go in to get the test?

  • Yes, Dragon is that typing program.  It works with Word and a bunch of other typical office programs.  http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-NaturallySpeaking-Home-Version-11/dp/B003VNCRNQ
  • Good Morning!

Sesh I'm going to like fourth the hope that it's not RA. I had a professor with that in college. No bueno.

The dogs got me up at 7:30 this morning like they do religiously. Just about the only thing I've got planned today is to make ups some oatmeal for the week and run.

Also, I'm reading through an interview for a site I'm working on, and it's an HVAC company. The sales person spelled "duct work" as "duck worth" throughout the entire interview.

All I can think of is The Mighty Ducks. "Thank you very much, Mr. Ducksworth. Quack, quack, quack, quack, Mr. Ducksworth."
  • Rosie do you have an appointment at lunch? Our post offices around here stopped doing walk-in passport stuff. You have to have an appointment or they won't help you when you come in. Just making sure you don't waste a trip to the post office if yours is the same way.

  • Rosie, eggs for breakfast after a hard workout the night before are always a good thing in my book.  They're loaded with protein and they taste good.  Plus, they're healthy, as long as you don't load them up with too much cheese.

Sesh, I'll add to the hopes that you don't have RA.  There was a point in time that docs thought I was showing signs of it, but thankfully it was a false alarm.  Like MK said, it's no bueno.  Good luck with trying to treat your pain for the next two weeks.  Oh, and the Mighty Ducks reference is great, thanks for making me laugh this early.

Stacks, Hi yourself.  Thanks for starting the game yesterday afternoon.  The fact that I got mentioned made me smile (thanks LDY!) and it's nice to know I'm not invisible (on a few of the other non-TK boards I post on, I feel like no one reads my posts).

    Ski, have fun in FL!

Busy day for me, so happy Wednesday everyone!

  • Good Morning!

It's 7 degrees out this morning (windshield of -7)  Brrr!  I'm so ready to go on vacation it's not even funny.  I've begun my countdown on my work calendar.

  • Good morning!

Sesh -- eek.  I hope it's not RA.  Can your doctor maybe suggest a brace or something for your wrist so you can continue typing?

It's my first day back to graduate school tonight.  I was so excited to go back, and now I'm nervous as hell.  I'm going out to dinner with one of my friends before classes, so hopefully that will be a little relaxing.  I don't know why I'm so nervous, but I am.  I haven't been in class since 2008.

  • Morning!

    Rosie Italy sounds awesome!

Sesh I really hope it's not RA, that would be no bueno.  I'm sorry you're in so much pain and that sucks that it would bother people that much at your work that you couldn't try the Dragon software.
  • Morning!  I got to look at syphilis yesterday in micro.  That was fun.  I just wish it had been alive so I could see it wiggling around.  It's kind of hard to use the microscope with my glasses, though.  I can't wear my contacts because my professor told some horror story about some fumes getting stuck between my contact and eye and eating away my eye without me knowing it.  No thanks.

Sorry about your hand, Sesh.  I hope it's nothing major that's wrong with it.

  • Good luck in school Bay!

I'm glad you didn't get your eye eaten away Adamar.

  • Don't apologize!  I just never thought about things like that before.  That's why I'm not a nursing student.

  • Good morning! Sesh, that sucks. I hope they get it all figured out and your able to get some relief for the pain. Adamar, aside from the smell, I really enjoyed micro.

  • They just redid the labs, so I haven't noticed any smell yet.  Hopefully it will stay that way.  I am NOT looking forward to the smells in A&P.  Ick.

  • Yeah, human dissection was the worst one for me. I'm pretty sure I had a slight formaldehyde smell to me all semester no matter how many showers I took. Poor H.

  • Rosie - Come back!  Please tell us about Italy.  I, like the others, want to go.

  • Thanks, MK!

  • I would love to see an autoposy and do dissections. Not sure how I would stomach it, but it still interests me.

Next Monday I'm going with H to a lab, but it's marine science so they are going to an oyster farming operation. Mostly I'm tagging along because the farm is close to my mom's so I'm going to go see her, and so I can spend time with H since he's leaving soon.
