Oh, snap, Special!

The something's wrong with you if you don't have many friends stung me too.  I have very few friends as well.

I get that special. I admitted that I didn't really word it correctly.

There's a picture of the wedding party and us when we first got to the reception. One of my BMs is taking off her shoes under the table. I didn't even notice until I got the pictures back but I also wound up taking my shoes off. My feet starting sweating and my mom left my flip-flops at the church. Barefoot it was!

I don't get the big deal, but I also don't have a hang up about feet. I can understand noticing or being bothered by others being barefoot but I agree that saying it's cheap/common is taking it too far.
In Response to Re: FFF : EXACTLY. There are people in this world who think "OH these heels are so cute! I can't walk, dance, or even stand in them, so once everyone sees how cute I look they are coming off!" Those people are idiots. And I practically live in flip flops, so I don't care WHAT shoes you wear, just wear some shoes. (unless there are extremely extenuating circumstances)
    Posted by ahhhitsshannyn
I think I may suck at buying shoes.  They always SEEM comfortable when I try them on; I never intentionally buy shoes that hurt.  But then I wear them for a few hours and they hurt.  I've tried inserts in the past and at best they buy me another hour, maybe two in the shoes.  I knew when I bought my shoes that I wouldn't make the whole night in them because the heel was very high but i thought they would last at least a few hours.  They ended up barely lasting through the pictures.  Luckily I brought flip flops and so I just wore those through the reception.

    In Response to Re:FFF:
Cowboy boots are way more uncomfortable IMO. H seems to think the same as well. Posted by JessAndTrav
But for many people, they're not. I'll take my broken in pair of cowboy boots over a pair of heels any day, and in fact, that's what I plan to change into under my dress for our reception. And I gladly ditched my heels for a cute pair of boots at my friend's wedding 2 weeks ago [and got lots of compliments on how cute they were with my BM dress]... it's all a matter of personal preference. And that's my point; what does MY shoe choice have to do with anyone else?

I wonder if Momma is actually my boss's wife or something.  He's all about "When you have kids you'll understand"...  Haven't even discussed with him if kids are in my plans or not, he just assumes.  Pretty sure J would have ripped his head off by now.

I can never hang out with many of y'all. Half the time I don't even know where my shoes are. I wear them in public, but if I'm at a table or chair, they are coming off. At home, they are never on.

I can't remember the last time I wore heels. But I can guarantee I more than likely tripped.

You are welcome at my house, we never wear shoes inside the house.  In fact, I'm usually tripping over H's shoes when I walk in the house because the first thing he does is take off his shoes, right in the doorway.

    Someone I know

    A. Dresses like crap, (sweats or the equivalent) no matter the occassion for the most part.
    B. Kicks off her shoes the minute she's sitting whether she's in public or not
    C. Sits criss-cross-apple-sauce no matter where she is...nice restaurant, church, etc.
    D. Has scary-long toenails.

I judge her for it a little.

Yes, H leaves his boots right by the door. So annoying. Meanwhile, I have no clue where mine got kicked off.

H always lectures me about going barefoot outside. Hey, dude, just because you have soft girl feet doesn't mean I do. I grew up running around the woods barefoot. I can deal. (I say that even knowing all the things I've stepped on in the past that hurt like a biiitch, but whatever, I hate shoes)

P&R but I sit criss cross all the time. I don't even realize it half the time but yes, I've been known to do so in restaurants and church as well. Judge away. It's super comfy to me.

I don't mind people taking off their shoes at my house, because I want them to be comfortable.

But don't like, pick up the remote with your toes or rub your feet all over the throw pillows, since people use that as an actual pillow.

I was always the girl at church camp that would ask people not to put their feet on my bed because your feet at camp are always gross and I didn't want someones toejam on my pillow.

    GROSS.

Like Chrissy said, it might not be an awesome reason for something to be legal but who cares? It's certainly not a stupid thing to say if it's the truth and it is most definitely not to the level of the idiocy that trolls around here on a daily basis. Plus, there are a ton of specialty rifles that people collect and probably dont use but just display or keep for a hobby. They are not killers and it is not a stupid reason to have them.

I think it's the combination of the behaviors that make me judgey, not just one.

I just want to tell her, "Dude, you're not at home. Please take note."

I feel ike she moments away from like, clipping her toenails or something.

    In Response to Re:FFF:
In Response to Re:FFF:While I hate to backtrack now that we're in a thrilling discussion about feet, I'm on arag's side of the gun thing. No, Chrissy's comment was not the stupidest thing I've ever seen here, but it was pretty stupid. I'm all for handguns and hunting rifles and the like, but the only purpose an assault rifle has is to kill people, quickly. "It's fun" is not a good enough reason for those to be available to the general public. That's my uo? opinion. And ditto on Iamthemomma. Gag.Posted by AnysunriseI think Special? said it perfectly.nbsp; There should be an explanation as to why something is illegal not an explanation of why something is legal.I said this in the UO thread, if a company is going to make something, they are going to try to sell it to make money.nbsp; There are gun makers who make rifles, they are going to try to sell it to people so that they can make a profit.nbsp; As long as someone buying it doesn't go out and do something illegal with it which I will tell you there arenbsp;a lot of people who own assault rifles, and most do not do illegal things with them then I feel that it isn't up to them to justify why they bought it. Posted by crfb87
I'd say a psycho being able to walk into a movie theater and rapidly kill or injure 72 people is a pretty good reason for them to be illegal. Guarantee the body count would've been much lower with a handgun or even a shotgun, since they're so much less effective at a range. Definitely in comparison anyway.

Like I said, that's just how I feel about it. I'm sure he probably would've built a bomb or something if he hadn't had it anyway, so whatever.

I wear orthopedic shoes and have inside-only orthopedic sandals. They do not leave my house.

We never wear shoes in our house either.

I sit criss cross applesauce almost everywhere too (minus church or restaurants). It's just more comfortable.

Long scary toenails gross me out, I will admit. H struggles with this from time to time. It makes me shudder.
