Thanks, I might be taking you up on that offer. I love FIL to death and he would do anything for me, but he's kind of a big looby.

Nuggs, that would piss me off so much. You should have your ILs talk to me. Clearly, I'd rather earn 15% of my previous salary in UI. It's just so much easier to function on that much less money. I spent years getting the best education possible thinking that my pedigree would prevent me from being in this situation, yet here I am.

And tell her that I'M the one who paid the money into the system, so I'm happy it helps out others right now.

First and last name. I was too lazy to change it before. But I guess it doesn't matter now because my last name is different since I got married.

• I judge one of my BILs. He posts on facebook how he just wants his family to get along and smile. Good God, you're freaking 21 years old. The world isn't a Disney movie where everyone gets along at the end and sings songs together while holding hands.

He then said that he teared up the other day while looking at a picture of all of his siblings together, and that he missed us. DH and I haven't talked to anyone in his family for 4 months. If he's SO sad that he's crying because he misses us, you would think he would do something about it, right? Like call us, email, text, whatever. Nope, he just posts on his FB that he misses us. Well I don't miss his stupidness.

• I judge my mom for reminding me 10x a day that my skin is bad and I need to get to the gym. Yes mother, thank you, I know you want me to look PERFECT for my wedding, but my god I have more important things to worry about right now, and I do not have $1,000 to spend on micro dermabrasion (which she is telling me I need).

I also judge my stupid province for spending $1 billion on this stupid G20 and G8 summit.

I judge parents who smoke around their kids, and owners who neglect their animals
Nugget, unfortunately there are some (small %) people on unemployment right now who are giving everyone else a bad rap. I work in the temporary staffing industry and deal with a lot of people on unemployment. I actually get people who tell me that they're happy on unemployment and don't want to work. Then I get people who come in here and literally beg me for a job - because they let their unemployment run out - and then they fail a drug test. It's pathetic. And it's making a horrible name for the rest of the unemployed world who are actually trying to get themselves out of that situation. As a matter of fact, I judge all those people.
Posted by akhensley81
AK, to clarify, who is it you're judging? Everyone who's on unemployment, or those using it to not work willfully?
I judge an acquaintance who's FB status the other day read "celebrating the US wedding anniversary." She JOPed in Chile and then did a pretty princess wedding at home over a year later - which she called a wedding, not a vow renewal. And I'm not opposed to her having her party, but celebrating the anniversary? Dude, it wasn't your wedding.
Posted by emilyinchile
I judge my brothers' friend (a friend of two of my brothers) and his wife for doing something very similar (minus the FB status). They JOPed it last year and had a big ol' wedding on Saturday. And then his FB status post-"wedding" said something to the effect of "the wedding was great! Thanks for all the presents!"
• I judge a lot of parenting choices:

1. smoking around your kids (as someone already mentioned)

2. putting one of those leashes on your kid

3. 5-year-olds in strollers

4. helicoptering, not letting them get the slightest bump or bruise without making a big production

5. putting them in little league sports where the don't keep score so no one loses so they never have to experience failure

Of course, I don't have kids, and I'm sure when I do, I'll do plenty of things other people will judge me for. It'll all come out even in the end.

The ones who use their UI and choose not to bother looking for work. And the ones who come in and waste my time to register with my agency because the UIA tells them they have to be job searching, and then turn down work when I offer it to them. And the ones who fail drug tests while on unemployment.

Everyone else, my heart goes out to and I wish I could help them all.
•
I judge the parents who let their 16 year old sail alone around the world. Thank God nothing happened to the girl, but use some foresight, people. I don't think it is a good idea for ANYONE to sail alone around the world, esp. inexperienced people (and yes, by the nature of her age, she's inexperienced).

I'm going to jump on this in agreement as well.

And I judge the creeper addict neighbor who let his dog crap in my garden and then lied about it, telling me that they NEVER let the dog outside without a leash...while said dog roamed around my yard without a leash. Just apologize and keep him out of my yard, don't friggin' lie about it.

I don't doubt that some do make good money, but I believe in general, the annual salary for an entry-level pilot is REALLY low. Like, teachers (who are notorious for being underpaid) make more than a lot of pilots.

I judge this. Yes some parents do it out of laziness but I know a lady who has a son with autism, the only way she can keep him within 2 feet of her anywhere public is when he's wearing his monkey backpack which has a leash attached to it. So her choice is be safe & have him hooked to her or have him run off where he could end up lost or hurt or never leave their home.

• I judge my boss for believing people are all good and don't lie.

I judge people who pan handle outside buildings with help wanted signs. (I know its hard to get a job if you are homeless, somehow I still judge).

I judge people who quote things they clearly have not read.

I judge people who claim laws are unconstitutional when the first five words of the amendment they are quoting states it isn't related to this topic.

Entry level on a national airline was about $16k a few years back. Not sure if it's more now. I *think* you also get a per diem while you're working. But entry level is also the puddle jumper flights, not long-haul.

• Teacher's in my county make more money than pretty much everyone. More than firefighters, policemen, retail managers...and yet they are the most vocal about biitching about their pay.

I judge the CVS clerk for giving me an "I judge you" look the other day when I was checking out. I was getting prenatals (and have been for almost a year) as well as my vicodin prescription. No I'm not planning on having a crack baby so keep your judging to yourself and sell me my stuff ok?

I judge the people around my neighborhood who let their dogs run around with no leash on. I don't care what you do on your property, but when the dog comes flying over to a dog aggressive yard with said dog in it don't be surprised if something bad happens.
• Oh, I judge the concept of tenure when there is no real review before you get it. You survived teaching for 3 years so we should never be able to fire you, really?

• I judge people who either don't read a contract or don't take the time to understand what they've read in the contract before signing. It is not my fault if you're too stupid to do this so don't complain about clauses later on.

I judge my scary neighbor across the street who constantly smacks her kids (about 3 and 4) upside the head and screams that they are the biggest mistakes of her life. Yes I have called child services, twice.

I judge that weird new poodle show where they dye the dogs coats different colors and patterns. Come on now....a poodle doesn't need to be hot pink with bright purple spots.

I continually judge my FBIL....he's just a douche.
• I'm with you on the contract thing, I also judge lawyers who say that upholding the contracts is unfair. They could have read them, and should know they were binding, don't try to undo it later.

This used to piss me off to no end when I worked at PetSmart. When you buy an animal you sign a contract. I tell you to read said contract front AND back because it has very specific return policies. Do not come back after having broken every bit of your part of the contract and expect your money back or a replacement.
