  • Hi ladies (and lurking gents).

I really should be going to bed.  I'm leaving at 6am tomorrow for an all day hike.  I'm not really ready, but hey there is a bar at the end, so that will keep us motivated.

So instead of sleeping,  I'm in the process of setting up my weight challenge profile.   I'm also looking at furniture online.  My parents are giving us some  furniture as a wedding gift.

DH and I have different ideas on how to decorate.  He just moved in here and, well the island only has so much to offer, this is the first time we've had to decorate from scratch together. Should be an interesting ride.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Andy-have the glass of wine. I'm having one right now.

  • Good evening! I was supposed to go to Zumba class tonight...instead I accidentally took a nap. I'm off to a good start.

Apparently I need to read HG? I'll have to put it on my list so I know what you all are talking about :)

  • yes to reading hunger games!

And Cheers  right back at ya Andy!

  • I bought HG a couple months ago but I haven't had a chance to start reading it yet. I'm really looking forward to summer!
  • I'm really trying to study but FI keeps playing music and it's making it very hard when it's obvious that I'm studying. Jerk
  • Aleighk - tell your FI how important and expensive the Praxis is.
  • Hey ladies. I come here with lots of irrational frustration. I am supposed to be at my little brother's family bday thing and got kicked out, basically. Now my mom is asking me to go back. But there are severe thunderstorms about to start. No thanks. BUT I WANTED SOME ICE CREAM CAKE. damn.

    I want something sweet, too.

Why did you get kicked out of your little brother's bday party?

Always say yes to wine, ladies.  :)

Okay, must get ready for dinner with BILs and SILs.  See you all later, if you're around.  :)
  • :(  How did you get kicked out sweetie?

what? i'm confused? they kicked you out and are now asking you back?

just go buy an ice cream cake, then you don't have to share.

ETA: sorry I hit post before I finished. That sucks. Family can be mean sometimes.

  • Well, I texted my mom earlier to see if I could bring Tory over tonight, because my family loves to see her. She said yes, so I assumed this meant it would be just the immediate family and maybe grandparents. But once I got there (early, for dinner too), I found out my uncle & his daughter/new son & my aunt would be there. My aunt & cousin (she is 4) are scared of Tory and my cousin basically will cry until she gets her way (really irritating). So even though everyone else LOVES the dog, once they got there, the crying started and my uncle kind of passive aggressively asked to me to bring Tory home because they didn't want the baby to get sick from her (WTF?) ... I'm just really pissed because they need to get the EFF over it.

  • I love ice cream cake. Why were you kicked out?
  • Ugh, that would irritate me too, Musical.  I also want some ice cream cake now.
  • I should add that my other brother (17) kept saying "OMG Tory you are SO ANNOYING, Brita take your DOG HOME!" which is such BS because usually he doesn't mind her. I am just upset that I had to be forced to leave when people could just try to teach their kids to DEAL with shtt instead of letting them live in fear.

  • Aww, musical, that stinks. It sounds like your family needs to make up their mind. I know you probably feel torn between going home and going back to the party, but I think I take your dog, go home and get some ice cream.
  • this is what at your mom's house and they asked that of you??
    image
  • That's when I would have passive aggressively say something about it not being their home.
But that's me.  I have cousins and H has an aunt like that.  It's annoying.
  • What kind of dog is Tory? It's not like you just showed up with your dog, you asked before hand. that's B.S.  Like I said, buy your own and don't share.

  • That is annoying.

Yikes! Does your new place have a garage?
  • Tory is a lab, but she is 10 months old, so she is pretty excitable. The thing is, she will be happy and kinda excited around you for a few minutes and then will calm down if you don't freak out.

I'm just annoyed that this has been happening for MONTHS now. Ever since I got Tory, if my uncle&his fam are around, she needs to be put away, even though everyone else in the family (literally everyone else) loves having her around. I'm pretty defensive of her because she is not aggressive AT ALL so I don't see any reason to be afraid of her. She really is the sweetest dog, just really excited.

My dad just sent me this text "Get over yourself. This is about your brother, not you or your dog."
UM, right but I don't want to be around when others are getting babied for stupid reasons. I don't want to support that. I'm so stubborn.

  • We had some hail about 2 weeks ago here and it did some damage to both of our cars. I am getting mine fixed one I get back to Ohio and settled. My car is only a couple of years old and it is my baby. H's car is older and he doesn't really care about what it looks like.
