  • I'm regreting asking for a heated discussion.  I hate it when you guys fight.
  • Well that was fun. I'm off to stop being a fat ass laying on the couch on my day off and to make something of myself. :) Or just go to Target...

Yeah - we went with Redfire, which I think is what you had, right?  I didn't get in early enough to get eggs, which disappoints me, but we did a full share of veggies and fruit.  H is just going to have to deal with eating some "weird" stuff.  :)

I had a ridiculously complicated spreadsheet going with info on all of them I could find and finally threw my hands up and just joined that one, partially because I knew you had a good experience.

For now, though, grocery delivery from Stop 'n Shop is the best thing EVER.

<div>Agreed.  Everyone is complaining that we have no debates or disagreements anymore, and now there was one.  I miss threads like this.  I think a lot of people took things to heart in this thread, which wasn't anyone's inentions, but there was finally a non-P&R thread from regs.</div>

Ditto. I didn't see a fight. A fight is when people just bitch at each other for no good reason.
  • I know we don't like realworld flames but how about bitching?

    K. A lady just called me about the conference we have on Monday in Texas. she asked if registration is still open and if can register on site. I said yes. She said, oh good because I just bought my plane ticket.
WTF seriously what if it wasn't open? why the fluck are you waiting until 4pm FRIDAY to call and ask these questions? I hate you.

  • My thought as a size 16,  5' 1.5" (that half inch is oh so important) "obese" woman is that I'll never lose weight so long as I want the immediate gratification of my favorite foods more than I want to be thin.  I know it.  I can join as many WW meetings as I want, but until I'm ready, it's not going to do any good.

At the risk of stiring up another bucket of shiit, am I the only one that, when walking down the street says to herself, "I could give her 10 pounds, her 5 pounds, him 15 pounds, and we'd all be in the healthy range."
  • Is there any place to get canning jars besides Walmart in Reading/North Reading?  I needed some at Christmas and that was the only place we could find them.

  • Oh.  And, do they have extra tomatoes available?  If I'm putting up stuff, I want to include tomatoes.  And maybe green beans.

I just have a boiling water canner right now - I'm going to need to find a pressure canner, I think.

<div>BB&B has them for like, two weeks at the start of summer. And I've gotten lucky at hardware stores once or twice. No idea why. I hate that it's hard to get them up here. I bet the other folks who have been doing the CSA forever would know where to get them.</div>
  • adamar I really thought about taking a picture just for the board. The kicker was that I hadn't showered. I know, I'm wearing a mishmash of clothing but I'm worried about my hair not being flat? I don't know.

  • Well then.  I missed the drama.  How sad.

I do think that some people don't fully understand the definition of "morbidly obese."

I'd have to lose about 40 lbs to NOT be morbidly obese, according to BMI.

  • Sweet!  I'll be doing that, then, right before I go back to work, probably.  :D

I think I found some places to order the jars online at Christmas, I just didn't have enough lead time.  I'll look into that.  I can remember hours and days and weeks of work at canning and freezing stuff in the summer with my mom when I was a kid.  It was fun when I was 8 and she did most of the work.  Wanna place bets on whether it's still fun this summer?  :D  But, SO worth it.

<div>Noice. Oh, and if you don't have a food mill, they're awesome for making sauce and purees (like baby food!). I don't even peel or seed my tomatoes, the mill just catches it all. HUGE timesaver.</div>
