[QUOTE]Fezz, Ariana is so pretty. I went to high school with a girl named Ariana and she pronounced it "ahh-dee-ahhna." I wasn't never sure if that was because her mom was from Mexico or if that's just how they pronounced it. I think Ari for short is adorable. ETA: They called Ariana "ah-dee" for short and I always liked the name, pronounced either way.

Hmph, that's odd.  No dee sound in the way we say it. Ah-ree-ahhna.

  • I like the name Ariana and Elaina! I've never met a Tecia but I knew a Tanecia.

My baby name list is ridiculous considering how far off in the future that whole deal will be.
  • MuSu, I hope somebody makes it! I can't wait to see you all bride-ified. I love wedding photos.

Haha same here. What is funny though -- J was watching the Dexter finale while up at school yesterday (he is still taking finals) and texted me suddenly "I can't wait to have cute babies!" ... I texted him back asking if he thought of that because of cute little Harrison in a lion costume. He said yes, haha. :P

It seems like Andy and Steph seem confident they can come -- not sure about Fishy yet. I told my BMs that I invited internet friends and they aren't as weirded out as J is, haha.

  • I wanted to name my daughter Star in Spanish but I realized it would be pointless. No one would say it right and it didn't sound that pretty.

  • I am not really thinking of babies. I have puppy fever. I can't wait to have my little Dana Scully and Fox Mulder. Fox needs a buddy so bad.

He was so darn adorable. My favorite parts of that show now are just seeing Michael C Hall with his cute baby. Although it confuses me because there was supposed to be a year gap between last season and now, and the baby obviously couldn't age so the baby is a year behind developmentally than his character should be, hah.

  • My H got Tecia from our wedding photographers name which was Leticia pronounced Le-Tee-see-Ah. But he didn't like the full version.

  • If we decide to have kids we've only discussed girl names and settled on Victoria Steele (Steele being his mom's maiden name). But I also like Carolyn or Caroline.

  • Ha, Oreo, in my classroom we had a white tree (supposed to look like a Christmas tree covered in snow) and we named her Blanca. Whenever someone came into our homeroom and we introduced them to Blanca, it took them a minute to realize it was just "white" in Spanish.

<div>I'm not sure if that is the same kind he has or not.  I also thought his were glass.</div><div>
</div><div>All i know is that we had to replace them with sturdier plastic too fight with them for a production where we got to do combat together.</div>
  • I love my brother's name but it would be kind of weird to name my kid after my brother. Too confusing.

  • You are right, Erin. I don't even speak Spanish. Her father does and we liked it at the time. I am glad I didn't do that to her though. Alexis is much better for her.

  • HIya!  How's it going?  I haven't read the first 3 pages yet.  I climbed back on my workout wagon tonight.  It wasn't as brutal as I thought it was going to be.

Fezz - I like Ariana.  A friend's ex was Elena so that name is forever scarred for me.  She married him at 23, took out a ton of loans to live on while she went to grad school while he carried a mortgage and went into CC debt to support her (bad choice on his part... he should have skipped the Loius Vuitton bags if they were going on CC's) and when she graduated she dumped him, left him with a ton of debt and moved back in with her parents who continue to give her everything she wants.
  • I haven't read any of this but I have a question and I don't feel like starting a new thread.

FI's dad offered to pay for our rehearsal dinner. He offered this almost a year and a half into our planning and I wasn't planning on having a rehearsal or a rehearsal dinner. I know I can't ask him to pay for something else instead but I really just don't want to have a rehearsal dinner. It's one more thing I have to plan and I don't feel like it.
  • I'd probably just have FI tell his dad "thanks, but we're not having a rehearsal dinner"
  • My GMIL is Estrella.  Of course, we all call her Abuela.
  • Aleigh just have him plan it. My ILs paid for and planned the rehearsal dinner.

  • I guess you aren't required to have a RD, Aleigh but why not? It isn't that hard to plan, honestly. All I've had to do is find a location and then narrow down a few menu choices. It was pretty simple. You should probably have a rehearsal though, because you never know what could go wrong if you don't practice at least once!
    image
  • I had never thought much about how beneficial a rehearsal would be until now when I'm getting down to the wire and thinking about everything we have to be sure goes smoothly during the rehearsal.
    image
  • Our rehearsal dinner was super low-key. We rehearsed, then my MIL and FIL had a huge BBQ at their house and they invited and planned everything. It was SO awesome of my MIL and it was perfect. I didn't want to stress about it and I didn't have to. I think if your FMIL/FFIL is offering, I would accept.

WIth that said, H and I are going on a walk to my cousin's house to pick up her kiddos and bring them back to our house for dinner. :) My 5 year old "niece" is pretty excited to come over and I can't wait to entertain her!

  • Those lightsabers are awesome. I like to battle with them, although I do not own them myself. I have a student named Eleni, pronounced ah-Len-knee. She's adorable on top of the great name. My baby girl name I came up with is Lelia Sunshine (la-le-ah). For a boy I have no idea. But H and I want to adopt if we ever change our minds to have kids. I do get the baby fever every once in a while!

  • We are having an outdoor ceremony so it could be beneficial to have a rehearsal. I think I'm just going to ask FFIL and FSMIL to plan it.
