I'm curious...

Coach wristlets seem to be incredibly popular BM gifts.  I'm curious, because I personally think they are such a huge waste of money, how many of you actually like them?  I'm making a poll so it can be annonymous, so give me your honest opinion!

  • I'm kind of between. I like Coach in general. I'm not sure I'd have much use for a fancy wristlet, though. The wristlet I have is what I use when I go to the gym.

  • I mean... I think wristlets are cute if you are into wearing those, but they don't need to be coach.  If you gave me one that was just an adorable piece of jewelry with no fancy name attached, i'd be just as happy.  The Coach name is overpriced.

I think Coach is way played out and I have no use for a wristlet. (I have had one for years and never do anything with it.)

  • I think it'd be cute, but not really my style.  I might or might not use it if given to me.
  • I have 3, all given as gifts, and honestly, I never use them. Maybe once in the past 7 years. If you're not going out dancing at clubs, I just don't see the point.
  • I can't think of uses for wristlets outside of the clubbing world.  As my BMs are in their thirties, I think they all either have one or have moved beyond nightclubs at that stage in their life.
  • I like wristlets in general for when I don't want to carry a big purse.  It doesn't have to be Coach.
  • I have one.  It's nice, and I like it fine, but I frankly have too much crap on a day-to-day basis for it to be much use.  I got it last year for a gift and have used it maybe 3 or 4 times.

  •  I actually don't own anything Coach, but my sister is really into it.  I know she has gotten some cute Coach wristlets that aren't the typical coach print for about $30 so in that case, no, I don't think they're overpriced.

I'm not dying to get one, but if a friend gave me one, I'm sure I would use it.

  • I got my girls a coach make up bag.  They loved it.

That said, I am sick of coach.  If I was getting married now, I would choose different gifts.

  • Because I'm in a bad mood, I'll tell you what I'd think if I got one as a gift.

I'd be like. OH THEY WANTED TO GET ME SOMETHING COACH AND THIS WAS THE CHEAPEST THING THATS PRACTICALLY WORTHLESS TO ME!

    GEE THANKS!

    So, yeah. I'd say nay.

  • I only answered yes because I love wristlets, but I do not own a coach one.  They are way over priced.  I have one from target, walmart & NY&Co.  You can find wristlets, but don't have to waste the money on a Coach.

  • I said yes, because I like gifts.  I'm not picky, I just like free stuff.

  • For some reason I can't see the poll, so I'll just say it here that if someone gave me Coach wristlet it would go in the trash or to someone else if they wanted it. I don't carry wristlets (I hate having any kind of purse). So if a friend got that as a wedding gift, it would be pretty obvious that no personal thought went into it at all. I also know nothing about Coach, so the name doesn't mean anything to me.

Don't go with what's "popular" as a BM gift. Go with what the girls actually like or are interested in.

    Also signed, Eastunder

I cringe when I see people giving them as BM gifts.    Just give them a coach keychain since you're really just giving them the brand anyways.  At least a keychain has a function.

  • You know your BM's better then us...if you think they will use a wristlet, great buy them one.  But if you don't think they will then don't.  You also don't have to buy all the BM's th same thing.

Shop around, or check outlets for good buys.
  • Vally, you pick that chocolate right back up, YOU HEAR ME?

  • I also always think of them as a cheap gift, I guess because we have received them as promo gifts from reps at our work.

  • I like Coach, but I think the wristlets are a liitle useless. I don't own one, and would never use one. I would still smile and pretend I liked it though.

  • None of your poll answers really fit how I feel about it.  If I got one as a gift, I'd probably try to find times to use it, like if we're going out to a bar or something.  I wouldn't be pissed about it but I wouldn't be super excited about it either.

I think people choose those because it's something Coach so it's nice but still affordable.

You couldn't pay me to carry a coach handbag.  It's completely oversaturated and all the crappy knockoffs have ruined the brand image.  I'd sooner carry something that was ten bucks from Target.  (which now that I think about it, I do.  Hobo bag.  Target.  Seven bucks. So cute.)  All Coach handbags say to me now is "LOOK HOW HARD I'M TRYING TO APPEAR LIKE I HAVE MONEY'

Which is sad because I do think they are a quality line.    Their high end computer bags and briefcases are still pretty frickin awesome, mainly because they don't have the logo thrown up all over them.

Also, I like bad mood Fischey.  Lets go get frozen yogurt and bond.

  • Yeah I would. Not because it's Coach, but because I actually like and need a new wristlet. I like using them for when I run to the grocery or am going to an outside event or something. I don't have feelings on Coach one way or the other.

  • I do like frozen yogurt.

Can you mix frozen yogurt with booze?

  • Oh, I wasn't thinking about buying them. I'm getting my BMs individual gifts that I know they will like.  :)

I just see people suggest them or they are buying them a lot and I just don't get it.  I'm not big into labels anyway.  My FI got me a Coach purse once (based on a suggestion by his sister, who IS into labels).  It was pretty ugly and too small for me and it cost him $125!!!  I've never spent more than $30 on a purse.  I *really* wanted him to return it, but he *really* wanted me to like it.  So I used it for a summer (kind of hating it the whole time because it was so freaking small!) and then never used it since.  I should have let him return it.

Anyway, I don't get the wristlets.  I agree with Fischy:  it just shows that people want to buy Coach and they are the only somewhat affordable thing they make.

Then again, I'm also in my 30s, so maybe it is a younger girl trend?
  • I bet kaluha goes great with chocolate fro-yo.
