[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Where is everyone? (Monday afternoon thread) : Seriously.  Are you in Columbus, Ohio?  (CFM, not Angel)

<div>Yep, Columbus Ohio.  I should add that though my boss tries to avoid it, there are nights where I close and then have to be back at 8am to help open the next morning.  I don't bother getting on TK when that's the case.</div>

  • Where in the world is everyone today? I keep thinking it must be some holiday I don't know about.

[QUOTE]Angel - you should run! I'm waaaay bigger than you and I finish 5k's. I don't run the whole time, but I run a good bit. I think making it across the finish line is a great goal! I think you'll surprise yourself!

I really think I'm going to go for it if I can find anyone to do it with me... I don't think I want to do my first 5k alone. FI will be studying for the bar this summer, so it'll be cool for me to have something to keep me busy.

<div>In Chicago a lot of people are on a NATOcation.  </div><div>
</div><div>My office is open though, which sucks.</div>
  • Hi!

CFM - I skip to the end and join in and then go back and read the beginning of the thread later - or sometimes I skip the rest of the thread and just join in at the end.

Shan - I think the Hungry Knot is scaring people away.
  • Wait, people get the day off for the Nato thing? For real?

  • CFM, hooray for Ohio!  I grew up in Cincy.

If you come in the evening threads at 11 (I do quite often), just jump in with whatever they're talking about now.  Or start from the beginning.  People will either respond to you or they won't.  Just jump in.

<div>A lot of businesses downtown closed for Friday and Monday.  </div><div>
</div><div>My office is right by the British and Greek Consulates and I guess there were supposed to be some big protests.  Quite frankly, I would have liked to have had off of work, but it really wasn't necessary.</div>
  • CFM, I found that if you respond to what people were talking about in the beginning, but they've since moved on, nobody will respond to you. That's not always the case, but more often than not, that's what I noticed. Just jump in on whatever is going on in the last page or two... you can always read the rest of the thread later to see if you missed anything important.

<div>Where's the "Like" button when you need one?  I'll start doing that.  I've dipped my toes in the E waters a little before, mostly for questions.  I never got got a bad response, just very little response.  I always took it as my question got answered and most people didn't feel the need to keep repeating the same thing.  I guess I'd consider this thread as wading in to the pond.  The water is quite pleasant :)</div>

</div><div>Sounds like every day in DC. Except we never get off. I don't even think everyone got off for the inauguration, although I had just moved here then so I'm not sure.
